I'm sure it's something obvious, but I've checked the documentation, and cannot figure out how to get the Mask Icon on after selecting a .jpeg image. Tried doing "Window>Show Mask" as well, but "Show Mask is greyed out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to add a layer mask either by clicking the icon in layers panel or going layer>add mask I am not getting a usable mask. The layer mask icon in the layers panel is added to the image, but it is still the rectangle with a white circle in it, not an icon with an all white or all black background. Clicking on this icon does not produce a mask to paint, whether white or black. why I am not getting the typical pixel layer mask that can be used to paint and reveal the image beneath?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to turn an icon into a transparent icon. The icon has a shadow layer in gray scale.
I can set the shadow layer to multiply and put a colored layer under it and have the shadow appear properly, but when I try to put it over a transparent background, Photoshop turns the white pixels in the shadow visible. How can I get it to treat the layer as a black layer with different degrees of transparency?
Every time I open ACA 2013, my toolbars that I have loaded turn off. Well currently only the layers toolbar remains, my custom toolbar and the properties toolbar turn off every time I open ACA with the icon or the exe file itself. If I open a drawing file the toolbars seem to remain. I also just installed the service pack, no change.

They were all showing just fine then when I switched on the next time, they had all changed to icons. Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

I must have fat fingered something and I now when I click on the Eraser Tool or the Brush Mask Tool instead of getting a circle or square, I get and icon of the tool instead. They still work but they're harder to use without seeing the circle or square depending on what's selected. I've been using Corel for many years and never had this happen and I can't figure out how to switch back.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue that cropped up as of late - I try to create a virtual copy of a photo, but instead of the normal page-turn icon in the bottom left and it auto-expanding to show the copies, it just creates a stack, and says "2" or "1 of 2" and the double line bars on both sides of the preview in Grid Mode. Is there a setting that I changed that caused that?

Now I have more videos I want to edit. So I tried to use Video Studio and it does not open nor give any warning messages, as to why not.
I just downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS4 Extended to my Windows Vista Inspiron E1705. When I go to File, Open and locate my photo, it only opens the picture to a small thumbnail in the layers box. How do I get the photo to open to the main area? How do I enlarge the tiny thumbnail? There is no image in the main work area. It seems so simple, but I just can't figure it out. I've tried lightening the background and adding a layer. Please help with this most basic question!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently watched a video of an artist working and I swear it looks like he made a lasso selection on a smart object layer, dragged the selection, and instantly created a new layer of the selection alone. He did this successively to sample parts of an image for later usage. I can't figure out for the life of me how he was doing it and I can't find anywhere that PS has this ability.
For one, lassoing an area of a smart object doesn't allow me to duplicate that selection, PS acts like I want to duplicate the entire image, if I hold down the ALT key. Also, if I try to make a duplicate of a selection with a non-smart object layer I can duplicate the selection via dragging by holding ALT, but the duplicate is still on the same layer as the original object, which is NOT what I want. I know how to use copy/paste.
I was wondering, is there no more option to simply create a colored frame like you were able to in smac 2012 (without having to create a cfx or go into paint)? Or maybe I just haven't found it...

When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know the material-appearance feature is appalling and badly implemented, but I can not wait until SP1, so any simple method of adding new colors to Inventor. I have looked through the wiki help and there is no simple explanation.
In our company the way we generally work with Inventor is to assign certain colors to parts and sub-assemblies, thus making it easier to build the final assembly. In previous versions of Inventor this was easily done. In 2013 some of the bold (primary) colors are missing and almost all of the various shades of these colors are also missing.
Migrating files across to 2013 has also caused problems with the color appearance not updating correctly. I won't go into the details but the problems and niggles aren't consistent, and there doesn't seem a way to clean/refresh the document library.
What I want is about a dozen bold colors (with a matte finish so when editing the part you do not have to overcome the optical illusion of starring into a morphed mirrored image of a carpark).
I'm a Liverpool Football Club supporter and I'm not going to go into details, but we are making a new supporters group and we need a logo to go with our group.
Had an idea for a logo, take this Soviet badge: Keep the gold around the bottom and sides, have 'The Red Faction' along the bottom, retain the Red star and replace the hammer & sickle with a gold Liverbird. I would need this as a PNG graphical/logo image not simply using the current JPEG and editing it if that makes sense?
I have setup a command within an action to "merge visible (with duplicate)"... and sometimes this action runs perferctly well and does what its supposed to, but other times it simply performs "merge visible" without creating a duplicate, and thereafter the action has been changed to "merge visible" forever, until I re-record it that is.
Is this behaviour normal? Can it be fixed?
I am fairly new at animation. If I want to simply create an animation of an assembly just simply rotating in 3D space which I then can import in Showcase for a presentation, how would I do this in Inventor?
