When i open the control bars dialog the options for changing icon size are always greyed out. Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

My tool options area is tiny; I have to scroll through it and it's horrible. I haven't been able to figure out how to change it.

Size of page differs in page size dialogue box to that listed in print options box. I changed computers and it works correctly in the second one in that the page size is the same in both boxes, but I still cannot get it to work in the original pc. Both the file and the printer are common. Reinstalling Xara does not work. It looks like it is not installing correctly, even though it appears to be.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm following a Julieanne tutorial on using Lens Blurs (HERE at 3:36) Basically, adding a 'Field' 'Iris' or 'Tilt-Shift' blur to an image that I've converted into a Smart Object. I've followed each step but when I go to the blur filters in the 'Filter' drop-down, the top 3 new filters mentioned above are greyed out. If I don't convert the image into a smart object, they're accessible but not with the image converted into a smart object as per the tutorial.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed Photoshop CS4. Few problems I'm noticing: - On startup, most menu items under all the top menu are greyed out. It starts with the marquee tool selected, and if I select another tool (like the selection tool),the greyed out items (like File->Open) work and stay working. - I can't close PS CS4 after startup if I don't first select a different tool other then the default (marquee) - I installed a couple extensions via the Extention Manger and they do not show up under Window->Extensions (it's greyed out always). I've uninstalled and reinstalled, did all my Vista Ultimate updates (including SP1). Any thoughts would be appreciated. I've got a top end (well was last year) video card, lots of ram and disk, etc..Dell XPS410 system loaded. Â
View 13 Replies View Relatedafter using the crop tool in Photoshop CS6, the Presets and RGB channels options are greyed out on the curves adjustment layer, IF that layer's Properties are displaying at the time. I find I can get the options back if I open and close Curves Display Options.

I am running Windows 7 x64, AMD Radeon HD 5800 with latest drivers (same problem with older drivers).
When I use File/Open everything is greyed out because the Enable field is blank. I can't find any place to set this field permanently to All Readable Documents.

Secondly, when I use Save As, Photoshop wants to save my image in a .eps format unless I save it as JPEG Stereo.
Say I click on a line, and then go to the properties inspector to adjust its length. When I scroll down to "geometry" the options are greyed out and I can't adjust them. (see attached image)
It was working fine, and then the other day they were randomly greyed out, and I cant figure out how to get it back to normal. I don't know if I accidentally changed some setting or what, but it's like this on every object I click.
I am on a MAC OS X 10.8.5. I am running Illustrator CC 17.0.0 I started a new document and created my work. I could not save as or export. There are times when the SAVE button is also greyed out. (see screenshot). I was fortunate there was a script that saves the files as a PDF under SCRIPTS. It does not matter if I start a new file or open an old one. I do not have file menu choices. I checked for updates and it states I am current.Â

However, the mouse keeps trailing a small table icon, and all it will let me do is insert another table. I can't enter text, or highlight a row or column, for example. Most of the right mouse click options are greyed out.Â
How do I change from this mode for the mouse, with the Table icon switched on, to other modes where I can do other things with the table I have already created?(If I create a new table below this existing table, all is well. However, I can't grab the content in the earlier table to paste it into the new one.)
I'm using P&GD2013. I draw with a wacom tablet and use the freehand brush tool in sketch mode with pressure enabled. I want to edit the properties of the brush . The help pages are quite clear except that I can't access the dialog box because the 'edit brush' button is greyed out.

They were all showing just fine then when I switched on the next time, they had all changed to icons. (For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) How to change this back?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've opened a gif file (web icon) which has shades of green. I want to use this on another site of ours which is similar but has shades of orange.
I use the dropper to select the color from a gif on the orange site - so the color is there in the color section box.
When I try to draw / fill on the green gif it ignores the orange color selected and uses a green from green gif. A lighter orange gives a lighter green.
I want to change the size of the image in Gimp to 3957x4429 px (67x75 cm) at a 150dpi (the image we have has a 300 dpi.) When i do this in image - print size it keeps changing the width.
The system is not allowing me to get the picture a few cm larger. Is there any way I can overwrite this?
The color gallery allows me to change the sort order of the palettes. How do I make the new sort order "stick" so I don't have to re-do it each time I reuse the gallery?

I downloaded the program to my new computer and all seemed to be okay with the install, but I can't change the unit default from millimeters to inches. In fact I can't change the units to anything; it keeps reverting back to millimeters. Then I tried changing the font default and it changed it to millimeters no matter which unit I chose. I don't know if any of the other options can be changed. I generally change them as I need them. Should I uninstall it and try again? I lost my CD copy to theft and have to use the online download.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI usually have full icons for my files, but for some reason my Photoshop CS6 file icons keep getting turned into the white icons with a little "PS" logo inside. I am using Windows 7 Professional edition on a 64-Bit Desktop.
The icon shouls be a full icon similar to the following (I know this is an After Effects icon - but is just to show an example of what I meant by a full file icon).
How to change the color of an icon (ex: from black to grey). My problem is that the end result is sometimes an icon that is partially transparent.
Here is what I am doing:
1) I open the image of which I want to change the color (black icon over transparent background)
2) Create a new layer and color this in white.
3) Merge the two layers
4) Create a new layer and color this with the color I want for my icon
5) Go to Colors -> Color to Alpha
6) Select the current color of the icon
7) Click Ok - Now icon color is the wanted color over a white background
8) Create a new layer and leave this transparent
9) Go to Colors -> Color to Alpha
10) Select the white color (current background color).
11) Click Ok - Now icon background is transparent, but icon color is also partially transparent.
Is there a way how I can change the color of an icon without getting the icon color transparent.
I create a text box and paste in the info into it. Now I want to resize the box to fit the space available but the handles end up changing the font size. I need the software to change the auto line feeds as the box's size is changed.
