I have both Photoshop 5.5 and CS2 installed on my machine. The JPEG files all retain the old icon. Can someone tell me how to change the icon to the CS2 icon? I am on a PC with Windows XP.
View 11 RepliesI usually have full icons for my files, but for some reason my Photoshop CS6 file icons keep getting turned into the white icons with a little "PS" logo inside. I am using Windows 7 Professional edition on a 64-Bit Desktop.
The icon shouls be a full icon similar to the following (I know this is an After Effects icon - but is just to show an example of what I meant by a full file icon).
I have a bunch of .bmp files that need to be converted to .png files. Some of the .bmp files cannot be made into .png files without being converted to .jpg files first. The first action does the .bmp --> to .jpg. The second action finishes up the process converting the .jpg to .png. I would make the change over into one long action: Process1. But when I convert one file to another and save to another location, I need to open that same file name with the different extension and then run the second process.So I've got two separate actions now and run one after the other. Being on the lazy side, you know, one less click is a wonderful thing..., can I combine the actions or is there a way to do Process1 all at one time?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've opened a gif file (web icon) which has shades of green. I want to use this on another site of ours which is similar but has shades of orange.
I use the dropper to select the color from a gif on the orange site - so the color is there in the color section box.
When I try to draw / fill on the green gif it ignores the orange color selected and uses a green from green gif. A lighter orange gives a lighter green.
When i open the control bars dialog the options for changing icon size are always greyed out. Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

How to change the color of an icon (ex: from black to grey). My problem is that the end result is sometimes an icon that is partially transparent.
Here is what I am doing:
1) I open the image of which I want to change the color (black icon over transparent background)
2) Create a new layer and color this in white.
3) Merge the two layers
4) Create a new layer and color this with the color I want for my icon
5) Go to Colors -> Color to Alpha
6) Select the current color of the icon
7) Click Ok - Now icon color is the wanted color over a white background
8) Create a new layer and leave this transparent
9) Go to Colors -> Color to Alpha
10) Select the white color (current background color).
11) Click Ok - Now icon background is transparent, but icon color is also partially transparent.
Is there a way how I can change the color of an icon without getting the icon color transparent.
Using CS5.5 / Win7 x64.

We do a lot of stuff using smart objects - replacing logos etc. Load the template image, swap the logo, save a new PSD file with the new logo on it in case we need it again, then save a jpeg for the client.

Oddly (and I think this has only started to happen since I've been working at home and saving onto a local drive on a laptop, rather than onto a server) the new PSD has today's date as its Date Modified, but the jpeg doesn't - it seems to use the original image's created date instead, which might be a few years ago in the case of some of the images. So when I'm attaching files to an email to send to the client, all the jpegs I want are all over the folder, instead of at the top with their associated PS files (sorted by date, newest first).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm teaching myself 3D from a textbook. The text gives an example of how to create a UCS that is located on a 3D example part from the CD that came with the book; this is done using the UCS command. It also shows how to use the viewport presets. I was able to move the UCS as needed around the part, I was able to use the viewport presets to look at the part from different sizes, but if I created a UCS and then used the preset views, the new UCS I created did not stay oriented, but instead appeared to default to the origin. But when I rotated the part with the mouse without using viewport presets, the UCS stayed put.

The icon spacing in the toolbox randomly changes its inter iconspacing, see [URL] .........
The only way I can get it back to normal seems to be to close gimp downand restart it
Maybe it has been corrected in 2.8.4 but SUSE haven't offered this intheir repositories.
Is there another setting that I can tweak to restore the inter iconspacing.
I am drawing an icon holder for a church. However, I got this problem, where I need to change the width of a piece but keep the height. So scaling wouldn't work as scaling would change both the width and height.
I can't use trim and cut from the middle as there is a block in the middle of it. and if I do that it will cut the block in all location.
I am not sure if there such an option in AutoCAD.
I never save images in the .png format. Â I always use .jpg or .jpeg. Is there a way I can change the auto save from .png to .jpeg?

1) From LR export to PS
2) Do all essential editings.
3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy)
4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg'
5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'.
6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.

Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)

Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!

(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.

Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.

Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
It is convenient to add each image name as a text on each figure by Slideshow. Could I use each image name as the exported file name?

I'd try it myself, but I don't actually have the equipment to do this right now.
I'm trying to export a JPEG so that the file size is smaller, for use on the web. So the file I have is 1.1 MB. I try to export via LR4 using the percentage slider, but no matter what percentage I use, the file size is always GREATER than 1.1 MB! And if I try to limit the size by inputing a value, say 1000 kb, I get an error message saying I can't do that for some reason:

Also, this is not the case with just one file, it is numerous files.Â
I want to shoot tethered in studio, and shoot RAW + JPEG, but I want Lightroom to only import the JPEGS so as to improve the speed. I shoot a Canon 7D.
