Photoshop :: Changing Logo Color
Aug 20, 2004I've got a logo in jpg format. Right now it's black on white. I'd like to change the white background to the color of my web page (grey) and then take the black "logo" and change it to white.
I've tried this using the fill function and it doesn't look very good.
I'd like it to look like I had the layered file and just "filled" the logo part with white.

Feb 28, 2012I have a PSD file that has a logo in white against a black background. I know how to change the black background to another color but I do not know how to change the white logo to another color and maintain the existing fade effect. The outer edges of the white logo fade into the black background.

If I was to change the black background to a green background (#808A53) then I would like to know how to make the white logo fade into the then green background.

Ultimately I would like to make the white logo a red color (#7d110c) that fades into a green background (#808A53) but I do not know how to do this as I am a novice with Photoshop.

Sep 9, 2005I have a logo that I created in PS that I now want to overlay on top of a .jpg that I have.
I am guessing that I need to open the PS file with the logo, create a new layer, put the .jpg on that layer and put it behind the logo. But I can't seem to get it to happen.

I want to remove the "black box" background, I need to change the color and size of the type, and I want to change the aspect ratio of the entire logo so that it stretches wider and is not quite as tall.?

Mar 31, 2012I'm a Liverpool Football Club supporter and I'm not going to go into details, but we are making a new supporters group and we need a logo to go with our group.
Had an idea for a logo, take this Soviet badge: Keep the gold around the bottom and sides, have 'The Red Faction' along the bottom, retain the Red star and replace the hammer & sickle with a gold Liverbird. I would need this as a PNG graphical/logo image not simply using the current JPEG and editing it if that makes sense?

Apr 15, 2009I have a bunch of .bmp files that need to be converted to .png files. Some of the .bmp files cannot be made into .png files without being converted to .jpg files first. The first action does the .bmp --> to .jpg. The second action finishes up the process converting the .jpg to .png. I would make the change over into one long action: Process1. But when I convert one file to another and save to another location, I need to open that same file name with the different extension and then run the second process.So I've got two separate actions now and run one after the other. Being on the lazy side, you know, one less click is a wonderful thing..., can I combine the actions or is there a way to do Process1 all at one time?

Nov 3, 2012I'm trying to center a logo for a website header. Unfortunately, the website builder I'm using won't let me center my image (or I can't figure it out).
The jpeg I want to center is 331x250. I need to center it in a 1000 pixel horizontal space and 331 vertical. I thought I could put the image on top of a white background/image at 1000x331px and center it.
Seems like Layers is what I need, but I can't seem to figure it out. I've watched the tutorial on Layers and am still lost.
Illustrator :: How To Separate JPEG Logo Into Multiple Paths
Jul 20, 2012My client has sent me a high resolution JPEG which is a monogram of his initial ("C") on top of a complex filigree. It's all one color. He wants the letter "C" to be a different color than the filigree pattern. The goal is to create a logo for his website and business cards.

How should I separate the C from the rest of the monogram? I've done an Image Trace which resulted in a perfect rendition of the entire artwork. But how to I separate the C? Any Illustrator experts out there?
Here's a lo-res version of the artwork he sent. I've already managed to eliminate the grays and turn this into a two-color (black and white) image. What next?

May 29, 2012Quick question, I just created a logo and I'm wondering if there is a way to export the logo into jpeg without the white background. I create posters for my husbands business and it will not be a problem when i add our logo to our posters because I can just remove the background myself.
My problem will be when I have to send the logo to other companies, they usually ask for the logo in jpeg. I've already exported the logo into a jpeg but of course the white document background appears. Is there any way to export ONLY the logo into a jpeg?

We do a lot of stuff using smart objects - replacing logos etc. Load the template image, swap the logo, save a new PSD file with the new logo on it in case we need it again, then save a jpeg for the client.

Oddly (and I think this has only started to happen since I've been working at home and saving onto a local drive on a laptop, rather than onto a server) the new PSD has today's date as its Date Modified, but the jpeg doesn't - it seems to use the original image's created date instead, which might be a few years ago in the case of some of the images. So when I'm attaching files to an email to send to the client, all the jpegs I want are all over the folder, instead of at the top with their associated PS files (sorted by date, newest first).

Choose the Magic Wand tool , making sure "contiguous" is checked in the Options bar. Select the rectangle under "Monochromatic (Single Hue)". Press Alt+Backspace (Windows) or Option+Delete (Mac OS) to fill the selection with the foreground color.Â
#Open the Color Picker and select two values of your base color. Apply your color selections to the "Values" swatches.
Next, select two intensities, and apply to the "Intensities" swatches.
Now that you've got your color palette, combine the colors into a swatch set. Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to draw stripes and fill with the colors you've selected above. This is a space to experiment with how the colors look next to each other.
Ready for the fun part? Make a selection around the client logo using the Rectangular Marquee tool. The logo has been separated into layers to make color application easy. First, apply color to the "bg" layer. Sample a color swatch using the Eyedropper tool , then press Alt/Option-Backspace to fill with color.
Keeping the selection active, click the "top curves" layer. Sample a color with the Eyedropper tool, then press Alt / Option-Backspace. Move on to the "middle curves" layer. Select a color, and fill.

Sep 30, 2012I used a web hex code to match up a color in a logo. (8700ff). However, now that i am in the process of designing its seems that my PS hex values are not the same as web hex values. Is there a setting that i need to get into to make these match?

Look at the words '' SILVER & HD CAMERAS '' as compared to the words '' The Buffalo Nickle ''. These both are set at a hex value of 8700ff. The color of "HD CAMERA" is correctly matching the site logo which was made in PS cs5. But the sites interpretation of that same Hex value is different.

Jul 28, 2007I have a problem with the coloring of my images when I convert my images from RAW to JPEG. I work with a professional photographer on the weekends doing weddings and when doing so, I always use the RAW format. I use his cards since it is his business and he edits the pictures. I recieve a copy of the final product of the pictures he gives the bride in JPEG and then a copy of all the pictures that I took in the RAW format. I had been using JPEG until I played around with the RAW pictures in photoshop and realized how much more you can do with the pictures.
