i am playing with the trial version of DP7 - i have been using Xara for years and i always change the button size to small to get the most out of my screen real estate... since i am working on a laptop, this is actually pretty critical.
but... all the buttons relating to size in the Control Bars Dialogue box are greyed out... to wit:

When i open the control bars dialog the options for changing icon size are always greyed out. Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

I'm not sure what I did to make this happen or how to change it back, but for some reason when I change the size of an object/line it changes the stroke weight as well. (For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) How to change this back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to change the size of the image in Gimp to 3957x4429 px (67x75 cm) at a 150dpi (the image we have has a 300 dpi.) When i do this in image - print size it keeps changing the width.
The system is not allowing me to get the picture a few cm larger. Is there any way I can overwrite this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed something keeps happening: when I bring a button in from the design gallery and I change the text on the button from "button" to "click here" or whatever, the text is no longer centered in the button. When I check the Mouse-Over layer, the text is also misaligned. When I go to center the text on one layer, it then gets misaligned on the other!
The only way I've found around it is to make the button in a new document and then cut & paste it into the web page.
How do I add a button that scrolls as the user scrolls - so that it is always visible? I think what I need to do is fix the absolute position of a layer, but can't see how to do that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like to have a custom set of stretchable buttons as my starter set for new projects.
As shown by the attached (zoomed) screen capture, when I add a highlight line and stretch the button, the line no longer follows the rounded corner shape. I've exaggerated th highlight line for this example. The line on the Xara template button uses a solid gray line all round, which isn't useful to me. Ideally, the line would be two colors with proper transitions at the corners.
I create a text box and paste in the info into it. Now I want to resize the box to fit the space available but the handles end up changing the font size. I need the software to change the auto line feeds as the box's size is changed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a set of buttons that are coloured. I would like to change these buttons to another colour! - The problem is that they are not one single flat colour - but are instead made up of shades i.e where there is shadowing.
Is it possible to just brush over them to, say, change them from green to orange?
i currently have a logo that is 460X440 pixels and 12.17cmsX11.69cms and the resolution is 96 pixels per inch.
i am wanting to change it into a 2cm X 2cm avatar that is less than 6K in size,
how do i do this? everything i try makes the output file about 24k in size.
the reason i am doing this is the forum i regularly post on has a max avatar size of 6k.
Is there a way to change the leader arrowhead size without changing the dimension arrow/tick size?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photo & Graphic Designer 2013. I notice that the buttons are now under the Page Elements menu. I'm trying to figure out how to change the button color without losing the 3D effect. The Help says:
�Change the color by clicking on the appropriate colors on the left end of the Color Line and choosing 'edit'
if I just highlight the button and change the color, it turns the button into a flat color.
For some reason, I'm not able to get my Mask Mode button "turned on" -- the Help section pointed to "Window > Mask mode on" -- but even though a shape / object / photo is selected, mask features always remain unavailable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I'm trying to learn more of my new programs, I finally came across a tutorial that covered the Live Effects. However, after I've open and created an object (star)(that's another story), I go to the Live Effects button (per the tutorial) but nothing opens. Left click, right click, nothing brings anything up.
Also, in the tutorial it started by drawing the star object...click the icon draw a star, and I get a 6-sided filled object. No star to be found. The oval and rectangular objects draw fine. But no star obect.
I'm at the point where I don't know what should or shouldn't be somewhere or if something is or isn't working. I understand that the Live Effects can be pointed to an external folder where 3rd-party plugins should go, but I was also getting the feeling that something came with the program install (per the tutorial). I've gotten used to things not working in these Xara and Magix programs I purchased, so unlike my first couple of posts, the anger and frustration are being left out.
The "Apply" button is missing on my print options menu (XDPX9). I cannot apply any of the functions such as Imagingsetting - crop marks, output settings, layout settings, separations settings.
View 3 Replies View Relateduser of Corel Videostudio pro x5 and gradually getting to grips with the functionality, however I have come to a dead end on one issue. I have edited a video ready for sharing and have gone to create a disc with a menu. I did not want any of the existing menu template so managed to create my own using a photograph as background and adding text I have managed to edit the text to change font etc but when it comes to the navigation buttons I cannot seem to be able to edit the properties. When using customise I can choose the different styles of button but cannot change the colour of the buttons to suit my template colour scheme. For some reason whenever I run a preview the play button always turns out to be pale blue colour. Currently on the create disc function I am selecting DVD for testing purposes instead of burning expensive Blue Ray discs however when finished I will want to burn blue ray discs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I installed the 2014 Inventor, my 3Dconnexion Space Navigator refuses to keep the settings I program for the buttons. I tried updating to the latest version of the driver, but that didn't work. I also tried unchecking the autosave function in the driver, but they still get changed anyway and then the driver asks if I want to save the changes.

I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have found finally one of the "not so changeable" lines that bugged me.I believe it's not really a filled unclosed object. Xara draws the line always, but the segment seems not to exist. And I was not able to close it or change it, only deleting it worked. Here is what I've done:
1. Create an "X" with the text tool, using the font "Abbess".
2. Increase it so it has about 400 pixels width.
3. Convert it to editable shapes.
4. With the shape editor select all points.
5. Put the smooth slider to 100%.
Now the upper left of the X has two points that seem to stick togother, even if you just want to select one of them. But then I was able to drag one away and increase the line. But I could not change it to a curve or anything.
If I type in something like "Book" then highlight it with the selector tool. Then go to Arrange> Convert to Editable Shapes and go back and unclick/click it has not changed into an editable shape.

At the moment, i use to create a button with macro of " ^C^C_text;j;mc "....But the problem is whenever i use this button, i still need to type "MC" at the command prompt.. How to make it so that after i click the button, all i need to to is just select the text..
I have the attached image. It is the letters A & D combined, I'm trying to change the shadow color. I selected the shadow in the Layer Gallery and used the Color editor to change the color with no luck. Is there some other approach? I'm just playing around with the image to try to stylize it a little, so it would stand out on a black or white background. The creative part is not a strength.

Have a look on the attached picture, in Extrude tool is there possibility to change the color of the depth dimension? My target would be just a simple brown, however also good question can be added bitmap fill on the sides? But if that would be brown instead of the current gray, that is absolutely okay for my targets, as I can see sure there is no line applied on the object so that should be controlled somewhere else

Is it possible to change the default settings of Xara Designer Pro for Units so that whenever a new file is started, it automatically uses the Default Units / Page - Pixels?
Or do I have to change it manually each time?
I am making some foreward and back arrow buttons. Could you suggest a good size for me to set them up in Photoshop for them ? ie the image size.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I open Lightroom 5 and click the import button I notice that the thumbnails that appear are not of the same size.
Why?
1) The phots are all 6x6 square
2) The photos are all TIFF format
3) The photos are of similar size approximately 136 MB each

I have been working on a book cover for a client and was asked to modify a capital letter in the chosen font. The letter "S" had a curly q at the top that needed to be removed. I converted the letter to an editable shape and deleted the offending nodes. Along the way I had to break the points and then reconnect. When I broke the points, Xara split the shape into 2 layers for some reason so I could not rejoin the points later. I ended up combining the layers and was able to rejoin the nodes that way.
The problem I had was that when everything was reconnected, I could only color the outline, the shape would not fill. I ended up having to export as a PNG to Photoshop, created an adjustment layer and painted it in. Everything looks great BUT I would have preferred to just reconnect the nodes and fill the letter in Xara.
