Have a look on the attached picture, in Extrude tool is there possibility to change the color of the depth dimension? My target would be just a simple brown, however also good question can be added bitmap fill on the sides? But if that would be brown instead of the current gray, that is absolutely okay for my targets, as I can see sure there is no line applied on the object so that should be controlled somewhere else

I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the attached image. It is the letters A & D combined, I'm trying to change the shadow color. I selected the shadow in the Layer Gallery and used the Color editor to change the color with no luck. Is there some other approach? I'm just playing around with the image to try to stylize it a little, so it would stand out on a black or white background. The creative part is not a strength.

it's been a bit tough going getting up to speed with WD6. I find myself running into snags just using the interface and trying to get things done.
At any rate, what I am running into currently is that I have a working toolbar from a template, but I need to change it's colors for both mouse off and mouse over. I saw the video and it makes it look very easy by going into the navbar->properties->menu style and simply select the colors you want. This is having no visible effect for me..
How can I change the colors of my existing navbar? I hope I won't have to recreate it each time I want to change the colors, etc.
Many times this has happened to me and I have never been able to figure it out. How do I remove a 3D extrude? I had almost finished a new project and was attempting to 3D extrude part of it when the program crashed now I am stuck with parts etruded and I can't seem to remove those parts. Unfortunately the part I am concerned about was difficult to do because it was an experiment text wrapping an object. Maybe I can open one of my saves and get it back that way. I don't know because I only just now thought of that possibility. Never the less I still want to know.

I can't seem to find any info about extruding shapes that are in PNG format etc.
For example, if I have a star shape in a PNG file (or BMP etc) is it possible to extrude it in Designer Pro? If the image file needs to be converted to another format
I know that extruding a sphere in Extrude tool is not possible, but like to play with it and not giving up.
As experience so far, starting from a circle a 208-210 extrude depth with 999 Curved bevel type, that gives something around like an apple.

Ive found a way to create a border, just adding the 3d extrude tool, and it works quite well, however adding a drop shadow to the image looks cool to. I have exported the image as a jpg, however on my siote there is this white background. How do I lose this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have found finally one of the "not so changeable" lines that bugged me.I believe it's not really a filled unclosed object. Xara draws the line always, but the segment seems not to exist. And I was not able to close it or change it, only deleting it worked. Here is what I've done:
1. Create an "X" with the text tool, using the font "Abbess".
2. Increase it so it has about 400 pixels width.
3. Convert it to editable shapes.
4. With the shape editor select all points.
5. Put the smooth slider to 100%.
Now the upper left of the X has two points that seem to stick togother, even if you just want to select one of them. But then I was able to drag one away and increase the line. But I could not change it to a curve or anything.
If I type in something like "Book" then highlight it with the selector tool. Then go to Arrange> Convert to Editable Shapes and go back and unclick/click it has not changed into an editable shape.

Is it possible to change the default settings of Xara Designer Pro for Units so that whenever a new file is started, it automatically uses the Default Units / Page - Pixels?
Or do I have to change it manually each time?
I have been working on a book cover for a client and was asked to modify a capital letter in the chosen font. The letter "S" had a curly q at the top that needed to be removed. I converted the letter to an editable shape and deleted the offending nodes. Along the way I had to break the points and then reconnect. When I broke the points, Xara split the shape into 2 layers for some reason so I could not rejoin the points later. I ended up combining the layers and was able to rejoin the nodes that way.
The problem I had was that when everything was reconnected, I could only color the outline, the shape would not fill. I ended up having to export as a PNG to Photoshop, created an adjustment layer and painted it in. Everything looks great BUT I would have preferred to just reconnect the nodes and fill the letter in Xara.
I'm doing Gary's Create a Sunflower and pot (July 2008) tutorial and just as always I run into problems combining/converting shapes. I believe I have followed the tut exactly and the only thing my lines do is taper at the bottom.
Also, I'm using Designer 7 and there is no option for changing line width to 6 px, only 4 and 8. So I'm using 8 pxls. I tried typing in a 6 and hitting enter but it doesn't accept a 6.
I've just reformatted my PC and reinstalled Xara Pro 6. I used to have it set for the light background as it's easier for my eyes. I can't remember how I did this, how to change the program background colour from dark to light?

Sometimes the menu item for control bars is also greyed out had to close Xara just to access it again. how to control icon size other than at one point it says you can. The actual image it shows in the help files also have all the options for icon size greyed out.

He said that it was a keyboard command to change it to an older version. So I am asking what are the keyboard command(s) to change the gray look to the blue look of old.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using the Color Exchange feature in Gimp 2. I am trying to change a red background to black. The Color Exchange feature allows me to do that, however, it comes out with only part of the color changed and it all very blotchy.
Here is a screenshot of what happens after I select the red square and do a Color Exchange from red to black.

I am working on an animated gif, and so with bitmaps, to which I am adding text in Xara.All of the text that I create seems to want to be gray. I have tried changing transparency, I have tried setting my default color, and changing the color of the text.I have also checked to make sure that the text is not set to transparent. If I select the text, and then the transparency tool, it shows "No transparency", and the transparency is set at 0 percent. It is interesting that, if I move the percent transparency above 0 percent and then back down to 0 percent, it changes to "None" in stead of "No transparency". Is "None" the same is "No transparency"?

I would like to be able to change this white color to something else on occasion but don't know how to go about it in Photoshop. I am NOT a power user. I use Photoshop CS5 64 bit.
Keep in mind that sometimes there is also white in the pen in places and I do not want to change anything at all on the color of the pen.
I would like to change color an a car but I want all the reflections on it. Whenever I just paint it it doesn't look right right.
