Sep 15, 2013Applying 3D to a shape and then using the extrude tool (changing a few times the extrusion) causes a crash here in Pro X 9.I had the same in Pro X.

Xara :: Extruding Sphere In Extrude Tool
Dec 23, 2012I know that extruding a sphere in Extrude tool is not possible, but like to play with it and not giving up.
As experience so far, starting from a circle a 208-210 extrude depth with 999 Curved bevel type, that gives something around like an apple.

Nov 22, 2011Ive found a way to create a border, just adding the 3d extrude tool, and it works quite well, however adding a drop shadow to the image looks cool to. I have exported the image as a jpg, however on my siote there is this white background. How do I lose this?

Dec 12, 2012Many times this has happened to me and I have never been able to figure it out. How do I remove a 3D extrude? I had almost finished a new project and was attempting to 3D extrude part of it when the program crashed now I am stuck with parts etruded and I can't seem to remove those parts. Unfortunately the part I am concerned about was difficult to do because it was an experiment text wrapping an object. Maybe I can open one of my saves and get it back that way. I don't know because I only just now thought of that possibility. Never the less I still want to know.

Aug 19, 2012Have a look on the attached picture, in Extrude tool is there possibility to change the color of the depth dimension? My target would be just a simple brown, however also good question can be added bitmap fill on the sides? But if that would be brown instead of the current gray, that is absolutely okay for my targets, as I can see sure there is no line applied on the object so that should be controlled somewhere else

I can't seem to find any info about extruding shapes that are in PNG format etc.
For example, if I have a star shape in a PNG file (or BMP etc) is it possible to extrude it in Designer Pro? If the image file needs to be converted to another format
Xara :: File Will Not Open After Crash?
Sep 4, 2011While working on a drawing the file would not save (message - failed to save), then Xara DP7 crashed. The file disapeared from my hard drive. I restored the file with a utility. Now when I try to open file it says - Failed to read XAR file, Failed to read record buffer.

Mar 3, 2012On an iMac on OSX ver. 10.6.8.
Going thru the Getting Started tutorial. When I started doing the "Drawing a Polygon" lesson everything was cool 'til I tried to extrude the bottom part of the helmet. I select Edit Mesh> Extrude, but the extrude arrow/handles don't show up on the polygon. I tried to Modify the Tranformation Tools, but as you can see in the screen shot, there isn't really anything to modify. Tried to reset it. Nothing. Tried to go in the Preferences, but I don't know what to set, if anything. I tried to turn of the Construction History, but I don't even see that icon. Tried to reinstall Maya. No improvement.

Now I have tried everything, from grouping to compound paths etc, but nothing works.

Aug 6, 2011In Xara Designer Pro 7, when I have selector tool active and want to drag over a number of elements to select them the selector tool will change the size of the canvas (page). Is that not a bug? I used this way of selecting elements often, and it is not good for me with this new behaviour.
Is it a bug or is it a new setting which I then need to change?
Photoshop :: Eyedropper Tool Causes CS6 To Crash
Sep 17, 2012This occurs when:
I use the Curves Toolbox (I invoke this command thru the shortcut Ctrl + M) and select the grey eyedropper to color correct my image. It crashes immediately upon clicking with the eyedropper to select my source color. When I am using the Brush tool in Color mode and I hit "option" to invoke the eyedropper it will crash as soon as I choose my source color.

The only other programs I have running are Finder, Firefox, Text Expander, and Bridge. Mini-Bridge is open as well. I'm going to try to work solely with Mini-Bridge to see if that works at all.

Jan 21, 2012PaintShop Pro X4 SP1 I've had this happen a few times before, but now it's beyond a joke, in that any time now I attempt to use the Clone tool, an empty script error message presents, and PSP is either frozen dead or just vanishes from the screen.
Win XP Event Viewer reports: Faulting application corel paintshop pro.exe, version 14.1.0.92, faulting module corecmd.dll, version 14.1.0.18, fault address 0x0000dd54.
FWIW. PSP X2U on the same machine works its clone tool okay.
Ah well! back to a JASC version of PSP 9 that does actually work for more than part time use.
Photoshop :: Crash To Desktop After Deselecting Move Tool
Sep 10, 2012I'm having troubles using Photoshop CS6 (64-bit) on Windows 7 (x64). After deselecting the move tool, or any tool that has move capabilities, such as the various transform tools, Photoshop crashes to the desktop.
I have reset all preferences by holding CTRL + ALT + SHIFT while starting Photoshop and by manually deleting the preferences files. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop in its entirety. These attempts to solve the issue didn't change anything regarding the crashing. I am using the latest drivers for my graphics cards.

Apr 8, 2012The Photoshop 6 beta program froze while using the crop tool on an image size of 8052x5368. I tried to save a file in another program while waiting for the crop to finish (usually about 1 second) and got an out-of-memory error. I checked the D: driv where the file in the other program was saved.
I have a flash C: drive and is not selected in the scratch disk preference. Two scratch disks, E: and G:, are selected with a total of about 800GB free space. After closing PS6Beta, the D: drive recovered about 164GB. The D: drive is not selected in the Scratch Disk list. I work with larger files and anticipate this problem again.How can I trap information for Adobe next time?

Xara :: An Offset Tool?
Oct 4, 2012I'm using Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 6 and I'm having fun with it. But there's one functionality I can't seem to find that I really need. I'm a CAD operator (and have that mentality), and I really want my AutoCAD Offset tool. It allows you to copy a line or shape a certain distance away. More importantly, if you "offset" a shape inside or outside it's boundary, it automatically makes the new shape equidistant from all the borders.
Anyway to do it in Xara P&GD6?

Jun 26, 2011In Xara P+Designer 6 I can select an area to clone, then edit that selection with the Selector Tool.
I don't seem to manage that in XD 7 doing the identical thing, well, attempting to. Am I not doing something that I should be doing, for it to do the same as in Xara D6?
I can edit with the Shape Editor tool, but not rotate with the Selector Tool.

For now I use the bitmap filter "Enhance" but sadly the outlines become jaggy by this.
