My Photo shop CS3 always freezes when I'm trying to use the text tool. I already deactivated all but the default fonts and I looked for damaged fonts.

This occurs when:
I use the Curves Toolbox (I invoke this command thru the shortcut Ctrl + M) and select the grey eyedropper to color correct my image. It crashes immediately upon clicking with the eyedropper to select my source color. When I am using the Brush tool in Color mode and I hit "option" to invoke the eyedropper it will crash as soon as I choose my source color.
Here is a link to the text in the crash report:

The only other programs I have running are Finder, Firefox, Text Expander, and Bridge. Mini-Bridge is open as well. I'm going to try to work solely with Mini-Bridge to see if that works at all.
using cs4 ext. on vista x64. crashes when i try to change fonts (doesn't matter which font), and sometimes when i just click on the type tool itself. everything else seems to work just fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having troubles using Photoshop CS6 (64-bit) on Windows 7 (x64). After deselecting the move tool, or any tool that has move capabilities, such as the various transform tools, Photoshop crashes to the desktop.
I have reset all preferences by holding CTRL + ALT + SHIFT while starting Photoshop and by manually deleting the preferences files. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop in its entirety. These attempts to solve the issue didn't change anything regarding the crashing. I am using the latest drivers for my graphics cards.
The Photoshop 6 beta program froze while using the crop tool on an image size of 8052x5368. I tried to save a file in another program while waiting for the crop to finish (usually about 1 second) and got an out-of-memory error. I checked the D: driv where the file in the other program was saved.
I have a flash C: drive and is not selected in the scratch disk preference. Two scratch disks, E: and G:, are selected with a total of about 800GB free space. After closing PS6Beta, the D: drive recovered about 164GB. The D: drive is not selected in the Scratch Disk list. I work with larger files and anticipate this problem again. How can I trap information for Adobe next time?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CC for just a few weeks. Today, it appears that every time I click on the type tool the application hangs until I force-quit. It also will hang if I try to display the Character palette. It seems that anything associated with type causes the application to hang and eventually crash.

Ah well! back to a JASC version of PSP 9 that does actually work for more than part time use.
When I am using the eraser tool in correldraw x5, I get a crash from time to time.
This crash causes my correldraw to completely shutdown with a message that an unexpected error has occured and that the program had to be closed.
Working with important information, this is a big issue for me.
I often get a crash after using the ViewCube tool to pick front view while in top view (today I was in tilemode 1, in a fairly simple 3D drawing).

This is happening on the two computers here running x5 on windows 7 64 bit. Sometimes when clicking on text that is on an imported pdf, the program will stop responding. The only way to get rid of it is via task manager, and it takes about 3 mins before that will even respond to the kill process button (as in clicking on the corel process and clicking kill process will not do anything for a couple of mins)
The program window will disappear, but the process will still be there using a few hundred megs. You can load a new copy of corel and open a file, but you cant do anything with the file until the old process gets killed.
The computers are brand new i7's with 8gb ram and ati video cards in them fully updated with windows patches and corel is fully patched as well.
I started learning Photoshop CS4 about a month ago. One of the first things I learned was to add text. Simple, fun. I am now trying to learn about layer masks. One of the exercises in one of my books is to open an image and then add text to it. (The idea is to then add a mask and 'hide' portions of the text behind portions of the image.) A really strange thing is happening when I try to add text. I highlight the image in the layers column. (Prior to adding any mask layers.) I then click the text tool. But when I click on the image (in the area where I want the text), the text tool 'becomes' a move tool. A text layer pops up and the words I'm trying to type on the image come out in the title area for the layer (in the layers column). I've tried everything I can think of to 'get' the text on the image but can't solve it.

At my office, we are experiencing a major malfunction with AutoCAD and server based files. I believe it is due to a server restructuring that occurred last week and we are having troubles since then.
Basically, on some drawings, all I need to do is select a HATCH object (of any size) and AutoCAD crashes. The same behavior is exhibited when editing an MTEXT object or, say, a dimension TEXT. I was also able to recreate the crash by typing STYLE, trying to edit the text STANDARD template, and essentially anything having to do with "simplex.shx."
Using the horizontal text tool I can make a text box, but no text-blinker shows up in the box and when I type no text will appear. Although, in the Layers pannel on the right side it does name the layer whatever I have typed so why won't it show on the picture? Even if you make all other layers invisible the text layer still does not show up on a blank background.

Everytime I use the text tool and want to type text, it is:
1. right aligned, and
2. cursor stays left and pushes text to the right.
All stops are added to the left of the text.
I have already reset the tool and even my preferences.
photoshop is not being able to deselect text when I am using the text-tool so I can edit more text. Here is what I mean - say you have two text layers that have been filled out. Now I want to change both of them to something else. I select the first text layer and change it's text. Now I want to move on to the next layer, I click some random tool and then click the text tool again. Is there a key command that I can hit that will make the text tool active so I can select the text on the other layer?
Also I'm using CS3.
I removed text from a rectangle and that message keep displaying in that rectangle.

Way back when I originally bought PSP X3, I used it for a short while then went back to X2. Mostly because the X3 text tool would not remember text I had used. Now I've recovered from a hard-drive death and want to move forward and use my X3.
How can I make the X3 text tool remember text?
I have to replace text in a banner image with different text. Maybe if I upload the banner, it would be more useful...
I have to replace "Customer Satisfaction" with some other text. The text is embedded in the image; so, it's not that easy, at least for me, to replace it without making it look amateurish. Of course, I duplicated the background and worked on that layer.
First method I tried was using the clone stamp, zooming in to 1600% to painstakingly erase it. But then when I zoom out, the background where the text was placed over does not match its surroundings and looks like someone shaded it. If you zoom in real close, before making any changes to it, you'll see that the "green" (what the RGB is) touching the text is different than the "green" in areas not touching text.
Next, I thought of using the magic wand to select the text for me and that looked liked it worked. But the problem is once I select it, how to delete it or blend it in with the background. That is, if I select the "C" in "Customer Satisfaction" with the magic wand, for instance, pressing delete does nothing. Then I found I can fill the area, after I select it with the magic wand; however, what the RGB combination is of the background. Is there a way I can find out what the RGB value is of the background, then apply that to my fill color and effectively delete the "Customer Satisfaction" text?
Once I'm able to get rid of the text, I can use the text editor plugin tool I downloaded to replace the text.
That's my logic, anyway. How I can replace text in an image, preferably as neatly as possible.
First it stops pasting anything except the first thing copied when Gimp opens, and now this. When I try to search for a font or type in text in the text tool in Gimp 2.8, it just jumps to random other tools instead of typing.
Why can't this program ever seem to work FULLY?
I have a .jpg file with an image, which I copied from the Clipboard. I now want to add text NEXT to the image. That is I now want to type text and position the text after is typed.
When I use the Text Tool, the text cannot be moved.
I created text on a curved path using the pen tool and the the type on a path tool. However, there are portions of the text that I want to taper. For example, my text begins horizontally, continues to the right, and gradually curves downward. As the text curves downward I would like it to taper smoothly into a narrower and narrower text.
