How to use the new color changer in 8? I am wanting to do the same type of thing that they did with the example photo of the flowers but how they did it even after reading and using the "Help" directory.
I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
Sometimesw you want to color the fill of a bitmap without the fuss of opening another app. For example, Bitmap files in corel color differently. Is there an equivalent to this in Xara?
I don't know what I did but the text now always defaults to a line color. I can change the color but I don't want a line around the text period! How do I set the default back to no line color at all?
I have the attached image. It is the letters A & D combined, I'm trying to change the shadow color. I selected the shadow in the Layer Gallery and used the Color editor to change the color with no luck. Is there some other approach? I'm just playing around with the image to try to stylize it a little, so it would stand out on a black or white background. The creative part is not a strength.
Have a look on the attached picture, in Extrude tool is there possibility to change the color of the depth dimension? My target would be just a simple brown, however also good question can be added bitmap fill on the sides? But if that would be brown instead of the current gray, that is absolutely okay for my targets, as I can see sure there is no line applied on the object so that should be controlled somewhere else
I am working on an animated gif, and so with bitmaps, to which I am adding text in Xara. All of the text that I create seems to want to be gray. I have tried changing transparency, I have tried setting my default color, and changing the color of the text.I have also checked to make sure that the text is not set to transparent. If I select the text, and then the transparency tool, it shows "No transparency", and the transparency is set at 0 percent. It is interesting that, if I move the percent transparency above 0 percent and then back down to 0 percent, it changes to "None" in stead of "No transparency". Is "None" the same is "No transparency"?
I'm trying to create a curved "spectrum" of color to use behind the numbers on a gauge.I first tried a linear fill, going from green to red. It's easy, but it doesn't produce the yellow in the color transition.
Next, I tried placing swatches of colors and then using the arch as a mask ... but it would only pick up the solid colors, so there were no transitions. Is there a way to bend the straight color spectrum bitmap shown in the graphic?
I really looking for a solution how can I change the color of a part of a picture. In my case it's a pharmacy sign (see attachment). I want to change the color of the white Part (snake&scale) into a sort of brown (#bcb29d).The green cross I want to change into red.
I only managed (not even that perfectly) with hue. But I cannot choose exactly the colors I want. I manage with the color/select tool to select the region I want to change but then.I don't know how to move on.
I have a low-res bitmap. It has a dark grey background with a plain white icon. The transitional pixels are various shades of grey.
I want to make the dark grey into a bright blue, leave the white white, and have the transitional pixels changed to maintain their respective "in between" values.
I do have Photoshop CS2 but I though Xara was more likely to be able to do this.
I'm creating an image using characters from known brand, and I have to match the colors exactly. In Photoshop Elements, I can use the Color Picker to obtain colors directly from an image online. I'm not sure I can do that with Xara. But Elements doesn't have a vector pen, which Xara does, so what I'd like to do is outline my images using Xara and color them in with Elements.
Can I do that? Will there be any "technical difficulties"?
I use Xara Photo and Graphic Designer 2013's Color Select feature to remove the background (white) of a picture and extract the main image so I can superimpose it to another picture.
(Picture enclosed, color select is perfect because it removes all the white background around and inside the screen like image I need to isolate)
I applied the Color Select, it removes the background, isolates the image but that's where the problem starts.
The isolated image will not be save or can not be exported and causes an error if it is cut, saved or unclipped from the group.
I'm trying to work with linked colors. I understand and can successfully manipulate both "Tint of another color' and "Shade of another color." I'm having a difficult time getting "Linked to another color to work as expected. The help document doesn't seem to offer much.
+ I create a named color called "S0" ('s'-zero). It appears on the left of the color pallet as a square.
+ I create a 2nd named color called "s1", and instruct that it's to be "Linked to another color". The color that I select as the Parent is "S0".
+ I see no way to control what linking attributes are to be assigned, aside from simply checking on/off the H, S and V option boxes.
The color gallery allows me to change the sort order of the palettes. How do I make the new sort order "stick" so I don't have to re-do it each time I reuse the gallery?
I'm working on a web page and the index says to drag and drop a color to the pasteboard. Sounds easy but I can't get it to work. I can only drop a color on the page background. I want to match my pasteboard and page background. I'm using Graphic Designer 6.
After I posted I was shown similar threads which seemed to say that this is not possible in this version. I guess I will be looking forward to upgrading to WD7
I took this photo which was OK but not great, and set the saturation to -100, and worked on the contrast and levels until the sky was very dark. Then I cloned the photo and applied a Linear, Stained Glass transparency to make the sky even darker.
The effect in black and white is so much more dramatic than it is in color.
Just downloaded/purchased DesignerPro X and do not understand how to use this tool. I followed the instructions in the help file (as well as an old man can!) and cannot get it to work. For instance, I cannot get the color tolerance/fade controls to move off of 20/25% respectively. If you specify which photo you are using in the Design gallery, I will follow along.
I am trying to change the hue of the sky in a photo. Following the instructions in the Help file, I first used the Color Select/Erase Tool to click on the sky in several areas to erase it. The instructions then say "Now select the Make Mask button on the Infobar." My problem is that I don't see a Make Mask button. I see a Make soft mask button and an Edit Input Mask button. Since the instructions go on to talk about these other two buttons, it seems clear that they are not the Make Mask button. So where is that button?
I might add that I am also looking for a way to make just one part of a graphic transparent. Would this Color Select/Erase Tool be appropriate for doing that?
I have drawn a colorful graphic with lots of little pieces, colors. Didn't name colors in it or built it with tints/shades of other colors. I want to make it grayscale now. What is fastest/most practical way to do that? Histogram works on bitmaps but I would like to retain vector format.
I have Pro7 and I am trying to edit a graphic. I want to remove the background color (white), or pop out an image.
In my old program (not xara) I could just click on the area/color, it turn pink and then click finish it would erase. Is that possible with this program?
Is it still possible in Xara Designer pro V8 to set the right mouse button to choose the line color? Now you get a popup menu if you click the right mousebutton.
I am switchin over from photoshop and would like to do the following
1) Select a color: I have a logo with a green and red text and would like to select only the green text. The logo is a flat file so I do not have access to the text-layers. (In Photoshop I would now use the "select color range" tool)
2) Keep the selection of the color active (as a selection)
3) Create a new overlay-layer and fill the selection with a blue color.
I am placing my customer's logo by importing their graphic file (they gave me jpeg, tiff, eps, bmp). I find the background color does not match and need to know how to change it.
