Jan 16, 2014I really looking for a solution how can I change the color of a part of a picture.In my case it's a pharmacy sign (see attachment). I want to change the color of the white Part (snake&scale) into a sort of brown (#bcb29d).The green cross I want to change into red.
I only managed (not even that perfectly) with hue. But I cannot choose exactly the colors I want. I manage with the color/select tool to select the region I want to change but then.I don't know how to move on.

Jan 21, 2012I would like to ask some very simple, but not sure that there is some keyboard combination in Xara Designer Pro.
Basically I have to type a long text, some words with normal default black color characters, and some with blue.
My target would be with some keyboard shortcut maybe quickly change the color to blue and after black and so on, do you have some proposal to this?
Currently I am just typing everything in black and after one by one selecting the words and applying Set Fill Color to make them blue.

Aug 20, 2012I'm using Photo & Graphic Designer 2013. I notice that the buttons are now under the Page Elements menu. I'm trying to figure out how to change the button color without losing the 3D effect. The Help says:
�Change the color by clicking on the appropriate colors on the left end of the Color Line and choosing 'edit'
if I just highlight the button and change the color, it turns the button into a flat color.

Jul 3, 2013I have been trying to use the color select/erase feature in Xara P&GD9 (version 9.1.1.28178) on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. I can use this feature to change the appearance of the sky in a photo -- for example, to change it from something drab to an attractive blue. I've now tried to do this in several versions of two photos, and I've been completely unsuccessful. Following the instructions, I first used the color select/erase tool and clicked on the sky in several places to erase it. I then clicked on the Make Soft Mask button and saw that everything but the sky was now pink. I then went to Enhance in the Photo Tool and selected the Hue control. But no matter where or how much I changed the Hue and/or the strength, nothing happened. I was left with the same drab sky I started with. I've tried to show what I've done with four thumbnails.

Mar 21, 2011I am working on an animated gif, and so with bitmaps, to which I am adding text in Xara.All of the text that I create seems to want to be gray. I have tried changing transparency, I have tried setting my default color, and changing the color of the text.I have also checked to make sure that the text is not set to transparent. If I select the text, and then the transparency tool, it shows "No transparency", and the transparency is set at 0 percent. It is interesting that, if I move the percent transparency above 0 percent and then back down to 0 percent, it changes to "None" in stead of "No transparency". Is "None" the same is "No transparency"?

Feb 24, 2011I have about forty maps created in DP6. Each of these has numerous pieces of text within it. These include title, map number, descriptive notes, individual letters such as A B C, scales, map symbols etc etc. These are currently all in Arial with some parts being bolded.
My question is:
In any one map can I select all the text within that map and change the character of the font? Ie can I grab all the text and change it from arial to a serif font? Or change all the text to a different colour?
I hope it can be done. I have done a bit of experimenting but have not found a way yet.
Xara :: Change Text And Font Without Losing Effect
Jan 30, 2013I have put together this mini tutorial for doing a letterpress effect, and what's really nice is that the text stays as editable text and this effect is editable! You can change the text and/or the font without losing the effect as long as you don't overflow the text box.
I have attached a png large enough for viewing on screen (just click the thumbnail then click the pop up) and a .xar file with the instructions and examples you can pull apart.
You should be able to do this in Designer Pro or Photo & Graphic Designer from version 6 and up.

May 6, 2012I am brand new to web design and I have Web Designer 6.0. I've looked at video instructions and can not figure this out. I am trying to group a simple rectangle filled with color to some text that will make the rectangle in the background, the text in front, and be one object. It says choose both objects and then group them, but I can choose the rectangle or the text, but not both. I know this is a simple thing to do, but I'm brand new and can't figure it out.

The rasterized text is part of the yellow background (ie it's not a seperate layer). Any attempt to change the colour or select the text invariably doesn't catch all the aliased pixels....with my resulting text not looking as smooth as the original.

I can do the first word in one layer and open up a second layer for the next few words, but as soon as I start typing the second word, the first one becomes the color of the second word.

Mar 13, 2013I have a large (22"x28") poster completely filled with 8 pt text. I have a simple image under the text. I want to change the parts of the text over the image to the image color. Basically, I want to make the image out of the tiny text and delete the image from the background. As of right now, I'm individually selecting text and changing the color, bit by bit. I know there has to be a much better way, this is going to take hours! I've been using AI for a very long time and this is one of the only times I've been completely stumped! I've included a sample image, the actual one is much more involved.
