I'm currently trying to dimension my working drawings, I was wondering how I could change the colour of the dimensions and dimension text so it stands out from the drawing.
Is there a way to change the default color of the Dimension lines and text? I want it to default to black not dull green! I can change it afterwards, but can't seem to find a way to change the default color.
Can i change the length of the dimension line 'extension' when my dimension text placement is beside the dimension line (see attached image)?dim line length.jpg
every one now a day i am making isometric drawings so i m little bit confuse in that i am using dimension and change the oblige angle text of dimension so is it right way or not ????
is it possible to have a dimension style setup that shows the dimension text inline with the dimension - without having to move it?I have been looking but cannot seem to do it - is it possible and I am just missing it?
I was wandering while doing a project of some construction elements if there is any way in Revit that I can change the numerical value of an dimension not with the text but with different value ? and at the same time I don't want Revit to rescale my elements. Something like in AutoCAD that I can type in any number I want and Revit won't rescale i or change the distance between them.
I know that I could simply use AutoCAD instead of Revit but I find it easier in general and I really want to learn it since I'm a student.
It is the way we scale 1 / 100 the size of our ِDimension, the scale to 1 / 500 to change the size of the enterprise to automatically change the scale.
This method is applicable in AutoCAD, but I could not find the software.
Is it possible to have an aligned dimension where you can type your own text in the field "under"?
It is only possible to do this with linear dimensions but I have a building that isn't straigth and there I have this problem with linear dimensions that are not parallel with the wall.
I would like to make the dimension text smaller so that the information doesn't become so crowded. I notice that the dimensions are written like 12' - 10 3/4", with a space between the ' and the - and a space between the - and the 10, rather than 12'-10 3/4", like an old-fashioned person like me would write. Is there a way to control that? I looked into the dimension edit dialog box & couldn't see a way. AutoCAD writes them like I like.
I have a series of existing dimensions from others which I want to put on a screened layer so they aren't prominent. They are dimension objects, and going into the dimension style manager, I can change the color of the dimension and extension lines and the text to "Bylayer," but I can't find a place to change the color of the arrowhead, which, in this case, is not an arrowhead but is an oblique slash.
I exploded one of these dimensions, and with "List" I found that the slash was a block called "Oblique." When I exploded this, it became a line, which was on Layer 0, and its color was set to a specific color, not on "Bylayer".
Is there a way in which I can change the attribute of this dimension style to override this specifically set color of the oblique line to reset to the color I want it to print in (in this case, "Bylayer").
I have recently upgraded from LT06 to LT09.Why am I having trouble changing the text height on my dimension? I used to be able to double click on a specific dimension and change the text height to anything I wanted and than using the "match properties" icon change all the others.
I am trying to dimension a drawing and have tried everything under the sun to change the text size but despite everything it keeps producing the text at a tiny size .
it seems like in the past whenever i made either artistic text or paragraph text color default, that was reflected in the control Text using the Dimension tool.
but no matter what changes i make in X6, it remains a chalky blue.
I have the fill color turned on in my dimension style to background. I want to adjust the "masking" box size. Just as you are able to in the text edit-background mask. I believe the default must be 1.25 larger than the text. I would like it to be 1.00. Is this possible? You can adjust the text background mask size, but not the dimension mask size.
I was looking to change the fonts in a drawing for the Dimensions and Symbols that might have been inserted in the Dimension text entries.
This can be done manually bu editing the dimentions text after placemement, but I was ooking to set this as a default.. I cannot see where exactly this is controlled in the Styles Manager - I am only able to change the Dimension text font but the diameter symbol font is always on AIGDT.
I was therefore looking for an iLogicvb code that could do the trick, but I am not able to even change the dimension fonts... The code runs with no errors but nothing gets updated in the drawing...
Dim oDoc As DrawingDocument oDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument Dim oSheet As Sheet oSheet = oDoc.ActiveSheet
I would like to set dimension text fill color to "background" instead of, you know, dimensioning my drawings properly.
I have this code I got on these forums and it works well except for the 'TextFillColor' variable. I can't find the correct color number or syntax for "Background'. It's currently set to 0 which produces ByBlock, and any number I put in there corresponds to the AutoCAD color number (1 = Red, 2 = Yellow, etc.)
If you have a better routine that you could post that works for me too. Or maybe you could just do my work for me? Even better.
(defun c:test (/ obj num cnt) (vl-load-com) (setq ss1 (ssget '((0 . "Dimension"))) num (sslength ss1) cnt 0)
I created a color scheme based on the Department parameter. I've named them accordingly and assigned colors to my liking. I've created Department types for Circulation, Classroom, Core, Elevator, and so on. Now I want to change the value of Classroom to Student / Instructional. I can't seem to change the value with in the editing dialog for the Color Scheme. Also when I change on of the Departments to the new name it creates another color and value.
I know you can change the color of a rendering background, use and image, change clouds etc but can you just turn the background OFF? I can't find where to do this in 2013
I do not recall making any changes to current settings and I'm not even sure how to do that. All my new detail lines are green. I have to change them back to black using overides.
Does this signify something? How do I change the current color back to black?
