GIMP :: Selection Handles On Non-freshly Created Selection
Mar 1, 2013Right after one makes a selection, say by using the Rectangle SelectTool, is presented with handles that allow altering the selection.
If one then selects another tool without deselecting is being deprivedof these handles while the selection remains active thus rendering himunable to alter the selection in that fashion.
Thus forming my question: is there a way to make these handles to(re-)appear on a non-freshly created selection?

Basically I am trying Angelize's fractal tutorial from Xaraxone, and on the attached picture can be seen that the end fill handles are both pulled to the left. For me they are always in 90 degrees so maybe there is some keyboard short cut to pull them individually?

Aug 12, 2011in order to get a head start on my next class, I bought the book: Introducing Maya 2011 by Dariush Derakhshani and have been following along with the tutorial projects within.
The issue I am having is probably a silly noob thing, but I can't get the selection handles (for polygon faces) to show up on a simple polygon sphere. I can see the handles on the corners of individual faces, but not the ones that are supposedly in the center of each face.
I have tried going to Display > Transform Display > Selection Handles but nothing happens. I have tried this while selecting the sphere with options under both "Select by Object Type" and "Select by Component Type" with no results.
I am running Maya 2011 on a Macbook Pro on OSX.

Feb 27, 2013The Width of Selection box in the Selection Tool Inof Bar does not seem to add in the width of any line thickness. If I make a rectangle that is 500 x 250, the box correctly reflects the size. If I change line width to 16, the box still shows 500 x 250. It is a problem upon export when the exported file does include the line widths, in this case it adds a total of 16 pix (8 each side) with a resultant export not equal to the displayed width. WordPress seems dogmatic about certain widths an exact width is useful.
I suppose I can add the labor of calculating line widths to meet exact export dimensions but I do not remember doing this in previous editions. I'm thinking there is a buried setting that I have changed. Is there such a setting to account for the discrepancy?

AutoCad :: Bound Xrefs Disappearing

Upon binding my dwgs to send to clients, sometimes I run across a serious problem. My xref'ed site plans disappear but my xref manager still lists it as attached, the layer manager still has every xrefed layer, and all other xrefs in the dwg will bind perfectly.
I have broken down all complex objects, purged, audited, cleaned up any excess scales, and even created new fresh dwgs for the xref and the drawing in question; all actions have ended in failure. I have even searched the AutoDesk forums for a solution and have found nothing substantial.
Solution: #1 Use RECOVERALL command on .dwg file that the xrefs disappear from. It will remove all proxy objects and excess scales in the file that is causing it to disappear in the first place.
#2 WBLOCK out the dwg file and any xrefs that are disappearing and insert them into new "clean" .dwg files. Must be done to all files.

This successfully create a .xar with just the objects I selected, however when I go to File->Import and select this file the preview panel shows an image of the entire original document, which is misleading as to the contents of the .xar. Jul 30, 2013I'm a document controller that is trying to ID the situation with 2600 drawings. Some files are so large - 250,000kb, they won't open. They have bound xref's in them. We want to ask the contractor to unbind them and attach them as normal xref's. I need to view if a drawing has bound xref's. I just want to see them as BLOCKS which I now understand they are. How do I do view the blocks that were once xref's?
