I tried putting the text on a line and pulling to vertical that didn't work. I tried a vertical line hoping that it would follow that (It didn't).
Any way to make my Annotative Text to be vertical. I need them for Duct work plans at work and they seem to be locked on horizontal some how.

I just want to show a reflection of a text phrase, the reflected text would have a gradient, to give the reflection a subtle effect. Once the text text is rotated I don't know how to "skew it' at the desired angle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm making a layout of 2 inch squares, 20 wide and 5 tall, to make color swatches for matching a target color. I'm then taking a starting value and using the edit colors>blend vertically, and blend horizontally to blend the color in the direction I think it needs. But every three or so blends i make it crashes the program, and even when I save my progress it crashes half the time. its a simple file just 2 inch square with color files.
I'm using CS6 on a osx10.6.8 ALL other jobs I've been working on have been fine.
Is it possible with Xara to create vertical lines in a shape? Think of the white house dome, but from a top down view. I am trying to create some domes in my maps that have an effect much like that. I know with the contour tool I can create a dome with horizontal lines, but is there a way to do it with vertical lines?

Sometimes I just need an instant horizontal or vertical line and I find I have to turn on the grid, zoom right in and meticulously place the pen tool so that the line is a perfect vertical (90 degrees) or horizontal (180 degrees) without slant or lean. Surely there�s a quicker and more reliable method?

Say I wanted 2 columns that were different widths - I would open up the 'A4 1-Column' template, select the Text tool, right-click inside the column, take the 'Columns...' option, increase Number of columns to 2 then adjust each columns width as desired by dragging the red corner handles. The problem here is that it is very easy to inadvertently alter a columns height because it's very difficulty to move a mouse horizontally without wavering a little bit vertically up or down. Is there a constrainer keyboard key or some other method that ensures vertical movements are ignored?
I'm pretty new and have a simple problem that for some reason I can't figure it out! And that is how to make a series of lines on the image that are all perfectly horizontal or perfectly verticle. This will be part of a chart and the lines will be dividers. So the chart will have basically 21 rectangles with 3 rectangles across and 7 rectangles down.
So, I KNOW how to use the straight line tool to make the vertical and horizontal lines but I don't know how to keep the lines perfectly vertical and horizontal and parallel with each other!

i have an issue in with my created sheets that does not show vertical alignment data. everything on the bands shows up nicely but the lines, curves and labels profile are missin.
see the attached image. you can notice from the image that there is no a signle data..
My office has two desktop printers, both HP. Our Officejet 7000 wide format prints great. On the HP Officejet 7500, we are often seeing text printing errors. It will not print the text from vertical dimension strings, and cuts off some M-text at an imaginary vertical line in the middle of the text box. PDF's of the same drawing look fine. Is this a printer driver issue? Is there anything I can do within AutoCAD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have detail drawings that contain horizontal and vertical dimensions. They're drawn at full scale in model space and saved as individual drawings. We then insert them as blocks onto a sheet in paper space, scaling them down to 1/2", 1/4" scale ETC.
Here's the problem - all the vertical dimension text appears bolder than everything else when scaled down. Horizontal text is just fine, diagonal text also looks a little bolder though.
The Inset Spacing settings within the Area Type Options drop-down are just too cumbersome. Is there an easier way to center text within a text box like we can do in InDesign? Why they left this out of Illustrator CS6.

I have rounded logo for my business. I like to paste it into emails and some marketing materials in either a jpeg or png format. The problem is the background of the page keeps showing up in the export file. Any quick solutions to this? I have pasted a copy of it in the text here.
I want to draw a pattern for a crochet hat. The first thing I need to do is draw a ring of 7 chain stitches. I downloaded a font that makes crochet stitches, the one I would be using for the chain is an oval. I typed in the 7 stitches and adjusted the spacing so that they touched and tried putting the text on a circle. But I couldn't get a contiguous chain. I tried a brush, but that would not fit round the circle.

I simply want to have them show in chronological order with some music and nice transitions, maybe in a frame template. I know I can do this in V3 fairly easily and I have done a good bit of video editing with VideoStudio, but I am wondering if there is a wizard that would make something like this faster and get me most of the way there.

I can't get the sub menus to show in my left main tool bar.
In past versions all I had to do was click on the little arrow and I was shown a choice of sub tools.
Is there something I have to do now in "Options"?
I tried putting it in its own directory and adding it in options...won't show up in plugin list.I tried putting it in the same directory with Xenofex which works - Eye candy won't show up in plugin listI tried putting Eye Candy in the PSPlugins of the XD Pro 7 directory - still won't show up..My other machine uses Vista and it works on that machine...but not Win7 Home Premium.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using parameters from a .ipt file to display dimensional information on a drawing file I have created (the fields colored red are the parameters it is reading). How do I get them to display as fractions instead of decimal? I want it to read 5"1/2 instead of 5.5", for instance. I have tried inputting them as fractions in the parameters dialog in the part file, but no luck, they still come out as decimal.

When making a pattern into a swatch and applying it to letters, I am noticing that you can see an abrupt point where the pattern stops and repeats. How can this be done so it is not visible?

Now I know I can do that with hitting enter while using horizontal text tool, but the spacing is wacked and looks funy. And using the vertical text tool produces text you read sideways -

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into Multiline Text edit, the edit box is vertical instead of horizontal. So, i must edit in a vertical fashion. Upon completion, the text remains vertical and I must take the time to rotate it to horizontal. I do have WYSIWYG checked, but it still goes vertical if it's not checked. Also, it starts out (before editing) horizontal. The font is Ariel. AutoCAD 2010.
