Dec 14, 2013I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....

Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )

So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"

I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that?  can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.

May 2, 2013when i open photoshop elements 11 my thumbnails are displayed but then they quickly turn into an hourglass and then disappear and turn into a torn/ripped/broken page/photo icon.. i have tried refreshing, updating thumbnail, repairing cache, erasing cache, unistalling and reinstalling.. even tried too import same folder of photos on tw different computers and had the same problem. also, i can see the humbnails in windows explorer so i know the files are not corrupt or damaged.

May 14, 2013I've been using Elements 7 with great satification for several years now, but recently, the picture thumbnails started to show up as an hourglass icon. I updated to Elements 11 and still had the same problem. I followed some direction I found online for eliminating the catague cache, and it fixed the problem in 11, but not in 7. Till I learn to use 11, I would like to continue to use 7, so how do I fix this problem in Elements 7?

When I try to open the app, I get an error that tells me "Cannot find the server "NDC-DiskStation" (my server name)" I've contacted Adobe about 5 times they keep sending me to Apple, which always sends me back to Adobe. I can open my app when I am connected to my server at my office, but cannot open it when not connected. However, I downloaded the app while not connected to my MacBookPro lap top.

Nov 11, 2013Is there a way to exclude "backup" files from search. Don't tell me to turn off backup! They have saved me on more than one occasion. When I search my Corel "Jobs" directory which has over 40,000 files it shows all the backup files too. How can I exclude those files? No, creating a seperate place just for these files is not a viable solution either as the backups are set to save within the same directory as the Corel file. If it were seperate it would be really hard to find as we often just call files "18 x 24 coro" but under the clients name. Can't have the backup saving over others with the same name.Â

Nov 10, 2003Photoshop has just started disappearing for what seems like no reason, it doesn't ask you if you want to save what you have changed or anything, it just closes without warning.
It happens when I'm looking for a graphic to open, click on the graphic after going into folder inside another folder, inside another folder, anyway click on the graphic and everything disappears and photoshop is closed.
Oh one other thing it always seems to happen when I'm looking on the second harddrive. And we recently upgraded from a duron to an athalon, but everything seemed to be ok for a couple of weeks.

Nov 10, 2012I've been using Photoshop Elements 10 since early August and it's been working well.

However, since yesterday, when I use the File/Open command in Edit to get a new picture, I no longer see thumbnails, just a graphic of an orange flower. The pictures (mainly JPEG with some RAW/NEF) still open fine and if I single click one of the orange flowers I get a preview at the bottom of the Open screen. However, this is far from convenient. FYI, I usually work set to "large icons" but I've tried all the different size settings.

FYI, I've recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and reinstalled PSE10. However, all was working fine immediately after the change of computer and the lack of thumbnails has only just started.

In Windows, my preferred folder view is "thumbnails". Some of my Photoshop psd images show as thumbnails, but others don't, they just show as the psd logo. The ones that show as thumbails are older images I haven't opened in a long time. Any new psd image I save will only display the logo as a thumb, and if I open an old image that does have a thumbnail and work on it and save it again, no thumbnail, just the psd logo displays.
It's really inconvient not being able to see the thumbs of what each image is. What's the trick to getting them back to all showing thumbs?

Jan 5, 2006I have been asked to make a postcard, but the problem is I have only ever used Photoshop for web images, ie at 72 dpi.
I was wondering, what resolution do I have to use for print materials? 300 dpi?
Also, if I have an image taken from a website can I just put it in photoshop and change the resolution to 300 dpi, then use it in a print project? Is such a thing workable?
Or, do I have to use images with a starting resolution of 300 dpi?

Same Windows XP but I upgraded from PhotoShop 9 to PhotoShop CS.
Suddenly (in Windows Explorer) I don’t get thumbnails of Photoshop (.psd) files.
JPGs and TIFs give me thumbnail views but not PSDs.
Is there a configuration issue in Windows XP or is it related to Photoshop CS?

Dec 2, 2004I have resized my stock files to 640x433, 72dpi, JPEG, for cataloging to Extensis Portfolio 7 and CDRs. These images are in numbers folders, according to subjects. The problem is when I initially open an image it asks for the color profile. I want it Adobe 1998 RGB, the same as my master TIFF files.
How can I just do this process by the folder for all images within it.?
Do I have to, for example, open all 2000 files, assign the profile and then save individually?

Jan 13, 2007I had to make a new system. and now ..after installing PS CS..I cannot see thumbnails of the files. I normally see them and see thumbnails for JPEG..but not the PSD's with a newer version of PS. I remember reading about this bug..and a reg setting some time ago...anyone know what it takes to fix this..? (my win pro media has ALL updates and is legal..just bought it)
