Photoshop :: No Thumbnails On Viewing Files On Windows Pro.?

I had to make a new system. and now ..after installing PS CS..I cannot see thumbnails of the files. I normally see them and see thumbnails for JPEG..but not the PSD's with a newer version of PS. I remember reading about this bug..and a reg setting some time ago...anyone know what it takes to fix this..? (my win pro media has ALL updates and is legal..just bought it)

I recently reloaded my Windows XP system software and all application software.
Same Windows XP but I upgraded from PhotoShop 9 to PhotoShop CS.
Suddenly (in Windows Explorer) I don’t get thumbnails of Photoshop (.psd) files.
JPGs and TIFs give me thumbnail views but not PSDs.
Is there a configuration issue in Windows XP or is it related to Photoshop CS?

I've been using Corel Draw and Photo-Paint for many years, on many versions of Windows, and as far as I remember, Windows Explorer has always shown a thumbnail for a .cpt file instead of the plain icon.
I've now got a Windows 7 machine (professional version 64 bit), and .cpt files show up as plain white icons, instead of thumbnails.

I recently had my computer cleaned and found that I lost photo thumbnail previews in JPEG files. Cpt&CDR files are ok..I'm in PhotopaintX4 and Corel support doesn't go back this far.

Ever since I upgraded to lightroom 4 I can't view my files larger before import. Once I import and they are in lightroom I can but I want to be able to edit them larger to make sure I want to import. Some just come up the same size as thumbnails while other files will say "could not read preview.

Just upgraded a workstation in my office, and the new 64 bit system doesn't show PDS thumbnails in the windows explorer.
We used the psicon.dll before, but it doesn't work on the 64 bit.

After importing pictures from my digital camera in RAW format using Lightroom 4 it places them in my Pictures file on tghe hard drive. When I go to my Pictures file and try to open the photos i get the message: Photo Gallery Can't Open The Images Or Video Because The Format Isn't Supported Or You Don't Have The Latest Upgrade To Photo Gallery. Pictures from a small point & shoot work fine. I get the same results when importing using the camera Mfg's software.Â

I've experienced when using CorelDraw X5 with Windows 7, in Windows Explorer it will only show the generic CorelDraw X5 "green" icon for a thumbnail. It doesn't show the thumbnail of the actual artwork. Workaround to show the artwork thumbnail?

Windows 64bit systems do not show .xar (or .web) file type thumbnails in Windows explorer. I saw a thread with solution for Windows Vista 64 but it doesn't apply do Windows 7. I've also tried the same procedure starting Xara Design as Administrator. I wonder if it's some sort of permission or something in the file.
It's funny that old files (made with Xtreme 4) shows thumbnails fine. Only new files. It cam be a problem when we have many files in a same folder and have to find a specific one fast.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits & Xara Designer Pro 6.

I have is that after so long thumbnails in windows explorer stop loading just shows generic Autodesk image(.ipt, .iam, .stp, .idw, .dwg ect.). Causing me to be unsure on which file I'm actually opening. Causing me to have to restart the computer.
What is weird is you are able to see the thumbnails in the thumbnail of the parent folder but when you open the folder they aren't shown. If you open up properties it shows a thumbnail.
Closing and opening a new window doesn't fix this error.This was an issue I had experienced with 2011 and am still experiencing with 2013.

Just changed from Windows XP to Win 8. In XP I could see picture thumbnails in Explorer where as in Win 8 I can only see the Application Icon.
PS: in XP I was using Photoshop CS3 Now I'm using Lightroom 5.2

last week I purchased and installed CorelDraw X4. After I had watched the video tutorials I wanted to try out the preview function in the Windows Explorer which should work with Vista and Windows 7. A double click starts Corel X4 properly, but the preview or the thumbnail function doesn't work (message "no preview available"). Curiously the Corel paint Fotos work in the preview pane. Only cdr-files aren't previewed.
In the scrapbook the cdr files are displayed correctly.
how to activate this preview function?

The best I can do is a kluge I don't want to live with. I've been a Corel user for 20 years. Much as I am attached to the program, this makes it virtually unusable. I work with a ton of files. I need to be able to see what they are before opening them.
I'm disappointed to see this problem has been going on for a number of years. It gives me the feeling the good people who built Corel are all gone now, and pride in the product went with them.
I'd love to learn the real honest-to-goodness Corel fix is jist around the corner, but I can't even find an official Corel position on this issue. Is there one? other than

Being an architectural photographer I create a lot of layered files with many exposures with different lights on and daylight separately. I always save my layered files in a folder called Layered files in the project. I also save flattened 8 bit Tif's at full resolution for my client as a print file in a separate folder along with another folder for web and device optimized files. When my client opens some of my flattened files they tell me the only see one layer. When I open some of them in Preview I get the same result. I only see the last layer I put into my layered file. But when I open the same photo in Bridge I see the full flattened file as I saved it. What can I do about that?

I'm on WinXp, using PS 7.
In Windows, my preferred folder view is "thumbnails". Some of my Photoshop psd images show as thumbnails, but others don't, they just show as the psd logo. The ones that show as thumbails are older images I haven't opened in a long time. Any new psd image I save will only display the logo as a thumb, and if I open an old image that does have a thumbnail and work on it and save it again, no thumbnail, just the psd logo displays.
It's really inconvient not being able to see the thumbs of what each image is. What's the trick to getting them back to all showing thumbs?

When I save a (flattened) image in TIF, I get only a partial thumbnail--often a previous layer or selection or something from the clipboard. This is in CS3 (on XP) but also used to happen in PS7.

My PSD files used to be visible as thumbnails now they are shown just as PSD files with no preview pic. I have searched the older topics and couldnt find an answer. I am using CS2 with Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
