Feb 18, 2009Just got a new vista home computer 64 bit.
With my old 32 bit vista I could view raw and tiff files in windows file explorer. With my new box, I cannot view them.

Jan 13, 2007I had to make a new system. and now ..after installing PS CS..I cannot see thumbnails of the files. I normally see them and see thumbnails for JPEG..but not the PSD's with a newer version of PS. I remember reading about this bug..and a reg setting some time ago...anyone know what it takes to fix this..? (my win pro media has ALL updates and is legal..just bought it)

Photoshop :: How To Export Layered TIFF Files For Viewing In Preview
Dec 10, 2012Being an architectural photographer I create a lot of layered files with many exposures with different lights on and daylight separately. I always save my layered files in a folder called Layered files in the project. I also save flattened 8 bit Tif's at full resolution for my client as a print file in a separate folder along with another folder for web and device optimized files. When my client opens some of my flattened files they tell me the only see one layer. When I open some of them in Preview I get the same result. I only see the last layer I put into my layered file. But when I open the same photo in Bridge I see the full flattened file as I saved it. What can I do about that?

Nov 16, 2011I have had a client send me over some information about a site we have out in the middle of nowhere, Australia, and they've sent over the info in a bunch of .shx files. The types are shown as Shape Source and Compiled Shape. So, is there a way for me to change the .shx files to .dwg or .dwf files without downloading a piece of software for $150-250USD without knowing if it really works? I've looked through the forums, but I don't want to convert the files from .shx to .shp, I also tried a couple of trial downloads for converters, but for some reason have only found downloads for 32bit machines, whereas I'm working with a 64bit machine, or they don't do what they say they do.

Sep 16, 2013I am running a mac on os x and Photoshop 5.1 . I just purchased a canon rebel 550d (T5i I think) It will not see any of the images. This must be an Adobe issue as the MAc finder and preview sees the images.
SO I have downloaded and tried to install various camera raw updates. 5.1 5.7 6.1 6.4 7.1 7,3 nothing seems to work indeed one of them failed to open. ver 6.1 will not open as an error code comes up. this error code relates to not being elligable for the version, yet it says cs 5. cs 5.5 and 6 are worthy.

Jun 14, 2013I can't open CR2 files from my Canon EOS Rebel XSI. I get the warning "Photoshop cannot open this file. If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via > Help > Updates."
So I go to Help >Updates and update, but then get the warning that "Some components of the following products could not be updated." Listed is the PS icon and a plugin icon.
I have Lightroom and PS.

I have updated to the 2.4 camera raw plugin and placed it in C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-InsFile Formats. When I go into CS to help->about plugin -> there are two camera raws that show up. The first is labeled 3.7 (2007) and the other is labeld 2.4 (2005). Not sure where the 3.7 version is coming from, but also not sure if it matters.

The .cr2 files do open in the canon software.It is as if the properties of the files are not correct but as I have said the file opens fine with the canon software.

I'm not sure about upgrading to the latest version of Photoshop since I probably wouldn't use all the features but I would probably upgrade to Elements 7. Is Elements 7 completely compatible with my Canon CR2 files and has anyone else used this combination and been impressed with the results?
