View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to import my raw files to lightroom 5 and convert to DNG i get a message that says: "Could not copy files to requested location." and "Files could not be written" I tried converting the files to dng using Adobe DNG converter then importing them to lightroom but they still won't work. Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw both read the files fine. I just prefer to use Lightroom.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have attempted to both import and convert to DNG RAW files from a CF card with images taken on a brand new Canon D5 Mark III. None of the images can be imported and an attempt to install the current version of Adobe Camera RAW plug-in also failed. The error message reads "The following files were not imported because they cannot be read. (3)".
Update: I've now tried to import files from a newly-formatted SD card and am having the same problem.
I have a 5D Mk II, and just bought a 6D yesterday. I have Lightroom 4.2 on a Mac. It won't let me import the RAW files, won't show previews of them.

I have tried importing directly from the camera, and also from an external hard drive that I managed to download the photos onto. Also I am working on a Mac.

When I import raw canon cr2 or Nikon NEF files, I cannot see the previews.
The progress bar gets stuck on building smart previews and I see a greyed out box. When I choose one greyed out preview box and go into develop then the preview appears and I can edit the image.

I'm trying to import RAW files shot from a friend's Canon 5D Mark III, but have been unsuccessful. It gives me the message "the file is from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in lightroom"
I normally import RAW files from my Canon 7D, but for some reason it's not recognizing these files.
How can I fix this?
I have a new MAC running 10.8 IOS and Lightroom 4.3. I also have a new Canon 5d Mark III. According to documentation Lightroom should recognize RAW files on the camera for download into Lightroom. But while I had success with only importing a single image amid multiple attempts, I cannot. Files are not recognized or cannot be converted to DMG for import. I took the card and put it into my old Rebel XT camera body, and it very slowly worked.
I have been using Lightroom with the old XT camera with no issues. Now I have a 1000 CF card and I can't get this to work from the camera. I have oredered a card reader which I have seen in other groups is supposed to solve this, but quite frankly: what the heck?
I just upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11 for my iMac. Using my HP Photosmart C7280 scanner, can I import scanned negatives or slides?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to set up a preset on the Import page (there are some there now) that I can use when I import my photos into LR. I am tired of going to Lens Correction in the Develop mod to put the nikon lens in that I used for the shoot. It is always turned off and I would like to have it activated when I import my shots. I know that while in the Develop mod, I can change it for one photo and then use "sync" to have it address all the other photos. But then it is a pain in the butt. There must be a way of doing it on import. Either that or else have it recognize the lens that I used automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have bought a new iMac (OS Lion) and am manually migrating all my stuff from an older Mac G5 tower (OS Tiger). I have installed the Canon 5600F scanner software and did an upgrade from the Canon site and all seems to be working well. I also downloaded a new (old one was not recognised) TWAIN plugin from Adobe and put it in the Photoshop C4 plugins folder marked Import-Export. My problem is that in Photoshop it is showing the 5600F scanner in the Import menu but does nothing when I click on it. I have rebooted everything but it does nothing.

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to import photos from my Canon 5D Mark III into Lightroom 4.2, the import usually freezes up at some arbitrary point. It will either crash lightroom altogether, or it will have a message saying "could not import all files, files could not be read." (something along those lines.)
I am using a 1 year old iMac with a 1 TB HD. I import directly onto that hard drive. Lightroom has never had an issue importing. My previous camera was a Canon EOS T1i. The problems started when I purchased my 5D Mark III. Images from my T1i, in fact, still import fine with no issues. I am running OS X version 10.7.5. My compact flash card is brand new, a Lexar 1000x. I have seen some suggesting it may be a hard drive issue, however, the evidence points to the 5D Mark III not playing well with LR 4.2. (T1i images still import fine.)
I have Lightroom 3 and I am unable to import my raw images from my Canon 60 D. What do I need to do to fix this?
