I've experienced when using CorelDraw X5 with Windows 7, in Windows Explorer it will only show the generic CorelDraw X5 "green" icon for a thumbnail. It doesn't show the thumbnail of the actual artwork. Workaround to show the artwork thumbnail?

last week I purchased and installed CorelDraw X4. After I had watched the video tutorials I wanted to try out the preview function in the Windows Explorer which should work with Vista and Windows 7. A double click starts Corel X4 properly, but the preview or the thumbnail function doesn't work (message "no preview available"). Curiously the Corel paint Fotos work in the preview pane. Only cdr-files aren't previewed.
In the scrapbook the cdr files are displayed correctly.
how to activate this preview function?
In Windows 7 I used to be able to see thumbnails of the first page CDR files in Windows Explorer. Now in Windows 8 all I can see is a blank.

The best I can do is a kluge I don't want to live with. I've been a Corel user for 20 years. Much as I am attached to the program, this makes it virtually unusable. I work with a ton of files. I need to be able to see what they are before opening them.
I'm disappointed to see this problem has been going on for a number of years. It gives me the feeling the good people who built Corel are all gone now, and pride in the product went with them.
I'd love to learn the real honest-to-goodness Corel fix is jist around the corner, but I can't even find an official Corel position on this issue. Is there one? other than

I've been using Corel Draw and Photo-Paint for many years, on many versions of Windows, and as far as I remember, Windows Explorer has always shown a thumbnail for a .cpt file instead of the plain icon.
I've now got a Windows 7 machine (professional version 64 bit), and .cpt files show up as plain white icons, instead of thumbnails.
Just upgraded a workstation in my office, and the new 64 bit system doesn't show PDS thumbnails in the windows explorer.
We used the psicon.dll before, but it doesn't work on the 64 bit.
I recently reloaded my Windows XP system software and all application software.
Same Windows XP but I upgraded from PhotoShop 9 to PhotoShop CS.
Suddenly (in Windows Explorer) I don’t get thumbnails of Photoshop (.psd) files.
JPGs and TIFs give me thumbnail views but not PSDs.
Is there a configuration issue in Windows XP or is it related to Photoshop CS?

I normally see them and see thumbnails for JPEG..but not the PSD's with a newer version of PS. I remember reading about this bug..and a reg setting some time ago...anyone know what it takes to fix this..? (my win pro media has ALL updates and is legal..just bought it)

Windows 64bit systems do not show .xar (or .web) file type thumbnails in Windows explorer. I saw a thread with solution for Windows Vista 64 but it doesn't apply do Windows 7. I've also tried the same procedure starting Xara Design as Administrator. I wonder if it's some sort of permission or something in the file.
It's funny that old files (made with Xtreme 4) shows thumbnails fine. Only new files. It cam be a problem when we have many files in a same folder and have to find a specific one fast.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits & Xara Designer Pro 6.
I have is that after so long thumbnails in windows explorer stop loading just shows generic Autodesk image(.ipt, .iam, .stp, .idw, .dwg ect.). Causing me to be unsure on which file I'm actually opening. Causing me to have to restart the computer.
What is weird is you are able to see the thumbnails in the thumbnail of the parent folder but when you open the folder they aren't shown. If you open up properties it shows a thumbnail.
Closing and opening a new window doesn't fix this error.This was an issue I had experienced with 2011 and am still experiencing with 2013.
Just changed from Windows XP to Win 8. In XP I could see picture thumbnails in Explorer where as in Win 8 I can only see the Application Icon.
PS: in XP I was using Photoshop CS3 Now I'm using Lightroom 5.2

I have problem when exporting selected only artwork to eps. The artwork itself contains standard fill objects with no strokes and no special effect on each object (drop shadow, powerclip, etc). On EPS Export dialog I change nothing, just clicked OK button.
The problem is there is no sign if the process success or fail.The file created only have zero bytes.The File>Exit menu is dimmed.When I try to close the document, it say:

I can't close the document and exit the program, so I have to use Task Manager. Also if I continue to edit the artwork, i.e. selecting an object inside a group, the program crashed.

I am looking to have my .cdr files viewable by my Road sales men. I want to make a .jpg listing of all my .cdr files with multipage .cdrs have filename-2, etc.
Would like to keep the same folder structure that my .cdrs are in but under /jpg/Â
What can I do other than manually re-save all these files? What kind of Batch export with sub-folders is possible? I have tried the file convert, but it fails after 4 files.

I have a Vector Art file in the formet .eps. I want to use that file in CorelDRAW,but the problem is that most of its art is converted to mesh,which makes my artwork quite messy!
How can I successfully achieve it?
It is because the Printer requires it in .cdr format!

I really don't know the best way to do this or maybe there is a standard, but here is what I am wanting.
When you put text over a simple vector graphic, the graphics makes it hard to read the Text.
I normally delete the graphic lines touching the text and this works but was wondering if there was another way.
Example: if this is a one color design "White" and it is just an outline of lets say  a human, and I want to display text which is "White" also across the human image sometimes the image will interfere with being able to read the text clearly.
In coreldraw x4 i needed to refresh a screen (Ctrl + w) after every change in artwork.
I am using macros in corel draw.
I am using X5. I hanve a customer with a business card and wants the artwork enlarged for a t-shirt to about a 8.5 X 11 inches. The logo measures about 1.5I X 2 inches. Is this even possible to make it anything that looks half decent?

When I am creating a word object, if the Height of the Text is greater than 21cms the art work is not being generated. It took me a while to understand this. I am not really sure how to remove the size range for the Text.

In Recolor artwork is there a way to change the black and white colors to a color? When I try to edit them it doesn't edit them at all. It would be nice if I didn't have to manually tweak the colors to have color before I go into Recolor Artwork.

But connector shows only the CD icon. What can I do to see the thumbnails?
I've installed the Trial version of X6 but now I cannot see any thumnail previews.
I only get the Corel icon.
History: I have Corel X4 installed as well as I use a plugin called EngravePro and it does not work with X6,
so I still need to go back to X4 when I need the EngravePro features.
Could the thumnail issue be related to havin 2 different version installed?

I don't have thumbnail previews in windows explorer for for my .CMX files. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
When I open corel draw files normally it will show the  small thumbnail of the page  but in one of my collegues sytem its not showing (its showing coreldraw icon).
