I don't have thumbnail previews in windows explorer for for my .CMX files. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
I've installed the Trial version of X6 but now I cannot see any thumnail previews.
I only get the Corel icon.
History: I have Corel X4 installed as well as I use a plugin called EngravePro and it does not work with X6,
so I still need to go back to X4 when I need the EngravePro features.
Could the thumnail issue be related to havin 2 different version installed?
When I open corel draw files normally it will show the small thumbnail of the page but in one of my collegues sytem its not showing (its showing coreldraw icon).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from 12 to x5 and for some reason it looks like Corel has chosen to make the file default to only showing the page as the thumbnail. Whereas before the entire file was displayed in thumbnail. This would work fine as long as you only want to keep your design elements all within the page frame, but I don't know one Corel Designer that does that. (only Word and Publisher users do that because they have to)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Corel Draw and Photo-Paint for many years, on many versions of Windows, and as far as I remember, Windows Explorer has always shown a thumbnail for a .cpt file instead of the plain icon.
I've now got a Windows 7 machine (professional version 64 bit), and .cpt files show up as plain white icons, instead of thumbnails.
In Connect I see only blank thumbnails of my .cdr files. The nice thing of this program should be thati can scroll through my files and look at large thumbnail So I know what iám working on.
View 12 Replies View Relatedwe upgraded to CorelDraw X6. Since yesterday we have been struggling with thumbnail previews under Windows 7 - the feature we loved and got well accustomed to. Earlier we have used X3 version with this preview feature, but with X6 it seems no longer to work.
We have checked the related windows directories as well as the CorelDraw Shell Extension - all things (dlls and exes) look just fine in their places and installed but still we cannot get the thumbnail preview work.
I have worked with CD 8,9,10 and now I am back to Home&Student X6. I would like to import a clipart but would like to select them via connector by viewing the thumbnails.
But connector shows only the CD icon. What can I do to see the thumbnails?
ever SP 3 was installed I lost the ability to preview files in their folders and see thumbnails. All there is are icons for the new files. Any files that was created before the upgrade has thumbnails and can be previewed in the folders.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCorel Connect not showing thumbnails.I have the paid download version of CorelDraw GS X5 installed on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I found that the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension only shows in the CorelDraw installer when "Custom" is selected versus "Typical," even though the shell extension shows in Control Panel. The latest twist is that Corel Connect will show photo thumbnails on the hard drive, but will not show thumbnails for photos on a CD or DVD. Other than a different file structure, a DVD or CD is read only. If I copy a photo from a DVD to the C: drive, Corel Connect will show the thumbnail on C:. Windows Explorer shows the thumbnails on the hard drive, CD, or DVD. Corel Connect will not show thumbnails of the Corel .CDR files on the hard drive, CD, or DVD in Vista but it will show them in Win XP.
Why doesn't Corel Connect display .jpg thumbnails on a DVD or CD? I think there is a bug in the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension in Windows Vista.
In Windows 7 I used to be able to see thumbnails of the first page CDR files in Windows Explorer. Now in Windows 8 all I can see is a blank.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to get W7-64 to display X5 thumbnails. I've been trying for months. My efforts have brought me to:
Have you tried this?
Have you tried that?
Have you tried Mystic Thumbs?
It's Microsoft's fault
The best I can do is a kluge I don't want to live with. I've been a Corel user for 20 years. Much as I am attached to the program, this makes it virtually unusable. I work with a ton of files. I need to be able to see what they are before opening them.
I'm disappointed to see this problem has been going on for a number of years. It gives me the feeling the good people who built Corel are all gone now, and pride in the product went with them.
I'd love to learn the real honest-to-goodness Corel fix is jist around the corner, but I can't even find an official Corel position on this issue. Is there one? other than
The problem does not exist
The problem is the user's fault
The problem is Microsoft's fault
I've recently installed X4 (running it on Windows 7) and for some reason when I open the scrapbook I can't preview any of the thumbnails - they just appear as a generic symbol (see below). How do I change this so that I can view the thumbnails properly?
I've also changed the settings so that once a bitmap has been inserted, I should be able to double-click to open the bitmap in Photo paint - but this doesn't work either!
Just installed X6 and tried CONNECT for the first time and it doesn't display the thumbnails of the vector images only bitmaps etc.. Any way to correct that?

In previous version I was able to preview WMF Images when I selected them from Corel Open Window.
In the current version X5 the preview does not appear in the right side of the window.

We are having issues with Corel X6: when we try print preview, the print preview window opens, but after we click print, it just crashes and that's it.
Both corel and Windows are updated, and the machine is clean.
I'm currently working on an XP 32 bit system with AMD Athlon 64 3200+
CorelDraw is displaying a print preview but is otherwise completely idle. It has finished displaying the preview, so it is just waiting for user action but has nothing else to do.
Photopaint in another window was running extruciatingly slow so I checked task manager. CorelDraw.exe was showing to be using 98% of the CPU.
On further investigation, this happens only when the print preview is on the screen. I close the print preview, return to CorelDraw design screen and CPU is 0% when idle. I do another print preview -- 98% CPU again.
I'll try it later on a quad core system, but it seems that print preview should not be hogging the CPU when idle waiting for operator action.
I can not see the preview of the clip arts when I need to choose one to insert it.

I have installed X5 along with all service packs on my main PC (Win 7 Ultimate 64bt) everything works fine and has done since first install. To use media brushes I click on..
Artistic Media > Calligraphy (for example) in the drop down menu > select a nib style from the next drop down that displays 'samples' of the various nibs. All fine.
As I am having to also work from home too at present, I have installed X5 on my study PC. I try exactly the same proceedure on this other machine (similar spec but Win 7 Pro 32bt) with same service packs, same install disc etc.. and all I get is blank boxes, no nib previews. This happens if I am using standard Corel media or 3rd party brushes??
See screen grabs below:
Nothing shows up..??
... using default Corel media in default Corel directory..
... or 3rd party brushes.
I have tried un-installng and re-installing but no joy. All brushes work and display fine my office PC.???!!
I use Corel Draw x6 running Vista Home Premium. In Windows Explorer, I've never been able to view CDR images as anything but icons. After reading a few forum posts, I experimented with changing the file associations to Windows Photo Gallery and then back again to CD x6. This didn't change the situation.
I've also run into a problem in Tools, Options, Global, Filters, associate. Associations with CDR and WMF won't stay. I check them, but the next time I open Filters, they are unchecked.
I just want to see a thumbnail of a CDR or WMF file before I open it in Corel Draw. I don't even have a preview pane in the open screen. Am I supposed to have a preview pane? All I have is File Name and File Format Type.
It seems as if I've done something to my system as I'm no longer able to preview my corel draw graphics. When I open any file containing a graphic file all I see is the green icon.

i've a problem with the artistic media preview. The preview of the brushes are not shown. (See screenshot)
I'm using CorelDraw X5 15.2.0.686 on a Windows XP SP3 machine.
So for the first time in a very long time, I've found a reason to tap into the clip art collection that comes with Draw. Unlike the old days when a big, bound, full color book used to come with the clip art to identify quickly which specific assets I'd like to use I can't seem to figure out a way to quickly browse the collection without dropping the file into a document, then either keeping it on the page or deleting and moving to the next. I also don't seem to have the ability to turn on file thumbnails in windows explorer on Win7 64-bit (couldn't find a support article that fixed this either)
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from X3 to X6. Still getting used to it, but so far so good.
On one layout, some items on a printable layer do not appear on the Print Preview. The page contains a monochrome bitmap, some text and a curve. Only the bitmap appears on the print preview, yet everything prints.
It doesn't happen with every job. Not a big deal on this job, but there will soon come a time when I need to know what will and will not print.
I am having a problem of previewing clip art in my preview window. I used to be able to review a thumb nail of either a object, photo, or clip art prior to importing it on my page. Is there a configuration I must follow. Tried everything from properties and other trial and error methods.
