Dec 2, 2011I have a complex (includes tints) clip art object that needs printing in a specific pantone color I just convert it to grayscale using edit>find and replace objects>color mode. then print it as a black plate and just use another color on press.
Today I had to send off artwork to another printer. Dang. How to install a macro. Import clip art to be modified to a new document, do not do this in your working document.
Use Edit>Find and Replace> Find Objects
Replace a color model or palette. Next
Leave as is except change Replace with color model to "Grayscale" Next>Replace all
Repeat 2-4 for 'outlines' if you have them.There you now have a gray scale clipart, but the fun continues!You'll need to know what pantone color you want to use. Let's say Reflex Blue. Make a square and color it Reflex blue from a pantone palette.Duplicate the square and create swatches at 90% 80% 70% etc down to white.Select these square swatches, then Windows>Color Palette>Create Palette from Selection. Save palette with a temporary name, it is only time use. Or you could call it 'Reflex Blue'Now go to this website and download the macro "limit colors" URL...
Drop it in your GMS folder in under your username to install the macro. (might have to save the drawing and restart Corel...)Once you reopen your now grayscale clipart document, Select the clipart. Run the macro (Tools>Macros>Run Macros) LimitColors.Posterize select the number of colors in your new palette if you created 10% swatches, go with 11, if you did steps of 20% then you'll do 6 (don't forget white).Run the macro LimitColors.LimitColors and select your new palette you made in step 9.

Jul 15, 2013I have no JPG preview in connect or windows explorer it shows only an icon, This is only files exported from CD or PP. All other JPG exports from PS or other programs are OK
If I hover over the JPG icon in connect I get a large thumbnail preview that is OK
I have F8 and repaired CD from disc and remove and Installed CD with no fix

Mar 28, 2012I've installed the Trial version of X6 but now I cannot see any thumnail previews.
I only get the Corel icon.
History: I have Corel X4 installed as well as I use a plugin called EngravePro and it does not work with X6,
so I still need to go back to X4 when I need the EngravePro features.
Could the thumnail issue be related to havin 2 different version installed?

Jun 29, 2012I'm currently working on an XP 32 bit system with AMD Athlon 64 3200+
CorelDraw is displaying a print preview but is otherwise completely idle. It has finished displaying the preview, so it is just waiting for user action but has nothing else to do.
Photopaint in another window was running extruciatingly slow so I checked task manager. CorelDraw.exe was showing to be using 98% of the CPU.
On further investigation, this happens only when the print preview is on the screen. I close the print preview, return to CorelDraw design screen and CPU is 0% when idle. I do another print preview -- 98% CPU again.
I'll try it later on a quad core system, but it seems that print preview should not be hogging the CPU when idle waiting for operator action.

Aug 22, 2011I have installed X5 along with all service packs on my main PC (Win 7 Ultimate 64bt) everything works fine and has done since first install. To use media brushes I click on..
Artistic Media > Calligraphy (for example) in the drop down menu > select a nib style from the next drop down that displays 'samples' of the various nibs. All fine.
As I am having to also work from home too at present, I have installed X5 on my study PC. I try exactly the same proceedure on this other machine (similar spec but Win 7 Pro 32bt) with same service packs, same install disc etc.. and all I get is blank boxes, no nib previews. This happens if I am using standard Corel media or 3rd party brushes??

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: No Preview Pane On Open?
May 19, 2013I use Corel Draw x6 running Vista Home Premium. In Windows Explorer, I've never been able to view CDR images as anything but icons. After reading a few forum posts, I experimented with changing the file associations to Windows Photo Gallery and then back again to CD x6. This didn't change the situation.
I've also run into a problem in Tools, Options, Global, Filters, associate. Associations with CDR and WMF won't stay. I check them, but the next time I open Filters, they are unchecked.
I just want to see a thumbnail of a CDR or WMF file before I open it in Corel Draw. I don't even have a preview pane in the open screen. Am I supposed to have a preview pane? All I have is File Name and File Format Type.

Unlike the old days when a big, bound, full color book used to come with the clip art to identify quickly which specific assets I'd like to use I can't seem to figure out a way to quickly browse the collection without dropping the file into a document, then either keeping it on the page or deleting and moving to the next. I also don't seem to have the ability to turn on file thumbnails in windows explorer on Win7 64-bit (couldn't find a support article that fixed this either)

Apr 23, 2012Just upgraded from X3 to X6. Still getting used to it, but so far so good.
On one layout, some items on a printable layer do not appear on the Print Preview. The page contains a monochrome bitmap, some text and a curve. Only the bitmap appears on the print preview, yet everything prints.
It doesn't happen with every job. Not a big deal on this job, but there will soon come a time when I need to know what will and will not print.

When I got to uninstall it showed and error message that some sort of setup.xml is missing. When I checked this programs folder I got to see that there are two corel folders [Corel and Corel (2) ] in my C: drive. After checking all the file locations of different corel applications I deleted the Corel (2) foder. After that also corel was not being uninstalled. I don't want to re-format my computer only for this

Mar 24, 2012Corel X4, still installed on my PC, has no problem at all.But Corel X6 (CorelDRAW as well as CorelPHOTOPAINT) crashes after the preview scan with Epson Scan (EPSON Perfection V330 Photo) in professional mode. When I use the simple mode (which does all automatically: preview scan, border recognition, best guess about resolution and color mode and the final scan) there also is no problem.
But I wonder what the TWAIN driver does with Corel X6 after having finished the preview scan ..I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the (latest) driver suite from EPSON without success.

Nov 1, 2012I am ready to print my stuff. But I have to manually use the pick tool in the print preview window to move my pages around so that they will print the stuff in the center of the pages.
I do my print run. And then save the "Print style".
Come back the next day and I have to re-do all the adjusting of the work again so that it all gets printed. I would have thought that saving a print style would make it so that next time everything is the same as before.
