I am using corel draw to run my laser engraver and I am trying to make a custom frame. Epilog laser.com has a tutorial how to do it, but I am afraid it is a tutorial for corel draw x3 or x4. I have x5 and when I follow the tutorial, I am not able to get the result I want. I find trouble when I try to trim out the images from the frame.

My tower is making all these orgasmic sounds, but after a while it sounds like a scratched record making all the same sounds continuously. The gauge that shows me how far the download is proceeding seems to get stuck at the 25% mark.

I created an extruded aluminium profile (attached file: Item Profile 8 80x80) which I published into the Content Center. When using this profile in a frame design, and using the Trim To Frame command, the profiles are trimmed at a weird angle (attached pdf file).

Today I had to send off artwork to another printer. Dang. How to install a macro. Import clip art to be modified to a new document, do not do this in your working document.
Use Edit>Find and Replace> Find Objects
Replace a color model or palette. Next
Leave as is except change Replace with color model to "Grayscale" Next>Replace all
Repeat 2-4 for 'outlines' if you have them.There you now have a gray scale clipart, but the fun continues!You'll need to know what pantone color you want to use. Let's say Reflex Blue. Make a square and color it Reflex blue from a pantone palette.Duplicate the square and create swatches at 90% 80% 70% etc down to white.Select these square swatches, then Windows>Color Palette>Create Palette from Selection. Save palette with a temporary name, it is only time use. Or you could call it 'Reflex Blue'Now go to this website and download the macro "limit colors" URL...
Drop it in your GMS folder in under your username to install the macro. (might have to save the drawing and restart Corel...)Once you reopen your now grayscale clipart document, Select the clipart. Run the macro (Tools>Macros>Run Macros) LimitColors.Posterize select the number of colors in your new palette if you created 10% swatches, go with 11, if you did steps of 20% then you'll do 6 (don't forget white).Run the macro LimitColors.LimitColors and select your new palette you made in step 9.
When I have a raster image power clipped into a vector frame and I attempt to trim that power clipped image. Corel locks up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAt my company we have a custom CC library with custom profiles for use in frage generator. We are having a problem with one of the frames. Everything goes well when the profiles is inserted.
But when I try to "trim to frame" the intersections of two profiles, it does not trim them correctly. It trims them in a 45 degree angle. As you can see on the attached jpg file.I tried everything. Checked the sketch, deleted the profile, republished the part.
Here I have some blue line features. Then I drawn another red line passing through these features. I am trying to cut blue feature wherever red line intersects. how can I achieve this?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI found a bug on X6 and not sure if it was there before the update. I have a Power Clip frame that contains 2 images.
The one to the right is smaller than the frame while the one on the left is much bigger and there is a blank space between them. When I export the image to a PSD file the bigger image inside the frame wraps around and a portion is displayed on the right.
Every since I updated CDx6, Photo-Paint no longer allows for drawing or erasing in a straight line by clicking, pressing the alt key and clicking again. Instead a scale comes up that changes the brush opacity...What happened? I can't figure out what happened. See attached file. The red arrow indicates what comes up when alt is pressed.

text box where I am able to quickly access all the text features, now since last update every time I make a text change in that window my text drops one line down and even though I will hit the cursor to front and back space it bringing it right to top when I hit OK it still drops my text one line down, this has become very annoying...
I love this feature but I am unable to bring it back to its original functional way. I did reinstalled corel , and yes I did reset the application still the same thing is happening.

I am doing a menu for a client and it seems that every time I put a specific font size such as 10pt. in a text frame..it changes to a size 11.3245pt. every time I open the file back up to work on it again.
How do I prevent this? Or is there something I am doing wrong in the text frame?
the thing is that on my previous version of Corel Draw (9? 10? whatever...) I could take a text frame with tabs lined up, copy it, paste it into a new document and all the tabs would be carried over from the original.
but when I try to do that in X3, it just copies across as plain text, meaning that I would have to do all the tabbing again.
When I say the tabs were set up, it's a list that looks like this:
Bill.................32..................Harvard
John..............27..................Oxford
where the .............. is made just by tabbing across.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a custom docker and I need to find a way to have the docker refresh when the document.save event is fired. The docker retrieves custom document properties saved within the file and displays the vales in the docker. I have it currently set to update when i switch between documents or when the document is closed, the docker is cleared of all the values. I still , to this day, can not figure out how to refresh automatically after I save a document.

I'm running CD X5 on a windows 7 machine. I had a custom "my Toolbar" set up wit all my most used tools and now suddenly it's gone! It is turned on in the menu (checked). I have unchecked it and rechecked it to no avail. I have re-booted my machine and still nothing. why it's gone but I can't seem to get it back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny way to make a custom font menu in coreldraw. By that I mean a shorter font menu that doesnt have all the fonts available on the computer. Ny work PC probably has 2000 or so fonts on it. I really only use 10 or so on a regular basis. It would be awesome if I could have my own custom font list that I could load, and still be able to get to the complete list somehow if I need it. Maybe something like a folder in the font menu?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running on a fairly new Dell Studio laptop computer with Windows 7 Pro as the OS.The font was installed using the normal install font directions.
As stated above the font works fine in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word.It shows as installed in Corel Draw font menu but will not print when trying to type, the curser just blinks.
I also have 2 desktop computers running Windows XP Pro OS where the font works perfectly in all programs.
I just got a new system installed corel draw fresh, loaded all my gms's , imported workspace , great all work as before all my menus are nice and active...,
However my custom gradients have disappeared..., it took me a while to set up certain gradients and I removed lots of the useless default ones that were there preset in the previously installed corel draw.
I accessed my old hard drive and found the gradient preset file however when I copied and replaced with the old gradient file the gradient data is not there....

is there another location where my old gradients would be saved?
I've been battling with moving tool bars between my CorelX4 PC's. I think I've finally figured out how to do it so far. Export/Import RecordedMacro.bas 'First' and make sure it's the same name on both PC's as importing a new one renumbers the *.bas file. I think this made a difference anyway.
Export/Import Workspace Toolbar next. I found if I imported the workspace first, I couldn't get the new toolbar to work.
Now, if I want to edit the colors of the toolbar as shown below, the current color doesn't show in the editing window, nor do I have any color options.

How to get this font to work in their Corel Draw programs. I use this font for 90% of my business so you can see why it's so important that I get it to work with Corel Draw 11 & Windows 7.
I have a custom palette set on two machines. If I save a file on one and then open it on the other, the second machine does not recognize the custom colors and leaves the object blank. I can click on the palette and correct this but can I set it so that the colors will load correctly when I open the files.

Coreldraw can already do what I need using the PageNumbering macro but I have to enter the individual settings for each template every time. I simply want the included PageNumbering macro but with the option to save 5 presets. If possible I would like the option of saving the presets to a file that can be shared with other workstations so I don't have to manually recreate.
