In previous PS versions I could see my open files as thumbnails at the bottom of my workspace instead of tabs at the top. I would love to keep using that workflow- can this be selected somehow?

You could do this in CS5, but it doesn't seem possible in CS6. It's a bit clunky when dragging from one file to another in the tab mode. I liked having the workspace open side by side.Â

I can see a preview of the file on the bottom of the window, but no thumbnails.
.jpg images from wither the same camera or another camera display fine.
I've followed a few examples and am able to create a new tab on the Ribbon, with panels and buttons, that appears when my DLL is loaded. However, it doesn't persist through workspace changes. I've read that this is due to my use of AdWindows.dll and my current code, as opposed to AcCui.dll, which would modify a CUIx file (that I don't know much about) to make persistent changes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen the "Open Documents as Tabs" checkbox is UNCHECKED, opening multiple documents via File > Open will open them as intended: stacking them on top of each other. However, dragging multiple documents onto the PS tab in the taskbar, or dragging them directly onto PS application surface will NOT have this effect and will open the documents in tabbed mode regardless of the prefs settings. THIS IS !%$@#$ ANNOYING!!! I hope adobe considers fixing this without making me pay a gazillion bucks for another update for a bug fix.

When I drag a 3600x3600 px image onto a 3600x3600 px canvas, my image gets placed on the canvas with it's center at 1803,1803 px. So it's off just a tiny bit. When I place an image smaller than 3600x3600 px, it gets placed on the canvas with its center at 1802,1802 px or 1802.5,1802.5 px It's not terribly difficult to center it after it's placed, but I'd rather not spend the 5 seconds or so every time I place an image if I don't have to.

However, since yesterday, when I use the File/Open command in Edit to get a new picture, I no longer see thumbnails, just a graphic of an orange flower. The pictures (mainly JPEG with some RAW/NEF) still open fine and if I single click one of the orange flowers I get a preview at the bottom of the Open screen. However, this is far from convenient. FYI, I usually work set to "large icons" but I've tried all the different size settings.

FYI, I've recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and reinstalled PSE10. However, all was working fine immediately after the change of computer and the lack of thumbnails has only just started.
Can I open folder with thumbnails instead of list, etc.?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn PS CS3 you could open as many graphical files as you wanted, move them around on the scrren, edit them, then create a new file and copy those into it creating a composite image.Â
Now, with CS6, I haven't figured out how to do that yet. If I load an image, it takes up the entire workspace, with rulers going negative to hugely positive with no reason to do so. If I load another image, I can't see them both unless I tile. if there is a way to put ALL files, say 10 of them all on ONE workspace at once? I'm almost ready to go BACK to CS3!
I'm on WinXp, using PS 7.
In Windows, my preferred folder view is "thumbnails". Some of my Photoshop psd images show as thumbnails, but others don't, they just show as the psd logo. The ones that show as thumbails are older images I haven't opened in a long time. Any new psd image I save will only display the logo as a thumb, and if I open an old image that does have a thumbnail and work on it and save it again, no thumbnail, just the psd logo displays.
It's really inconvient not being able to see the thumbs of what each image is. What's the trick to getting them back to all showing thumbs?
When I save a (flattened) image in TIF, I get only a partial thumbnail--often a previous layer or selection or something from the clipboard. This is in CS3 (on XP) but also used to happen in PS7.

Suddenly (in Windows Explorer) I don’t get thumbnails of Photoshop (.psd) files.
JPGs and TIFs give me thumbnail views but not PSDs.
Is there a configuration issue in Windows XP or is it related to Photoshop CS?
