Photoshop :: Multiple Windows Open In Tabs

Aug 21, 2009

When the "Open Documents as Tabs" checkbox is UNCHECKED, opening multiple documents via File > Open will open them as intended: stacking them on top of each other. However, dragging multiple documents onto the PS tab in the taskbar, or dragging them directly onto PS application surface will NOT have this effect and will open the documents in tabbed mode regardless of the prefs settings. THIS IS !%$@#$ ANNOYING!!! I hope adobe considers fixing this without making me pay a gazillion bucks for another update for a bug fix.

AutoCAD LT :: Open Multiple Drawings In Separate Windows?

Nov 15, 2011

Currently when I open up multiple drawings (opening them up one at a time) they all appear in the same window (one instance) of AutoCAD.

I want each drawing to open in separate instances so I can view them on separate monitors (and close one without being asked to close them all).

I have tried changing the SDI system variable from 0 and 1 (and vise-versa)

I have tried changing the windows default program from AutoCAD Application to AutoCAD Launcher (and vise-versa)

I have set the TASKBAR system variable at both 0 and 1 (and vise-versa)

AutoCAD 2010 :: Open Multiple Drawings Using One Window Only In Windows 7

Jul 6, 2011

why Autocad 2012 opens one window per drawing as opposed to Autocad 2007/2008 opening one window for as many drawings as you have open.  (I also don't care to group/ungroup similar programs through Windows 7.)  This must be an Autocad 2012 program default that I can't figure out to change.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Batch Plot To PDFs (Multiple Tabs / Multiple Files)

Jun 4, 2012

I am trying to batch plot to PDF's from a drawing file that has multiple tabs in it.  I would like each tab to be a separate PDF file.  We are utilizing Acrobat X to write the PDF's.  AutoCAD places all of the tabs into one file whether I tell a Multi-sheet file or a Single-sheet file.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Multiple Open Windows Don't Retain Relative Ordering In 2014

Jun 13, 2013

My problem is similar to the "send behind"/"bring to front" commands that you use when you're drawing.  But my issue is this: what wastes a lot of time for me in the new program is when I try to work in multiple windows at once.  (Btw, we don't have large screens to work with here.)  Usually what I'll do is have, say, three or four windows up at a time, none of which are maximized, and usually have two that I'm working on side by side, with the remaining one or two sitting in the background.  I also keep a lot of windows active, and minimized, so that's not the answer I'm trying to find.  I work mostly in model space if that makes any difference, though I don't think it should.

Now, not only do the borders of each of my windows get all sorts of funky screen images on them when I move them around (mildly amusing but not annoying), but what really grinds my gears is that the orientation, or layering, or what-have-you, of the windows that I have active and open in the background is not retained.  Let's say I have X-1 and A-1 up front and center, and I have A-3 and A-4 in the background.  Let's say I had moved A-3 to sit on top of A-4 before I started working on the X-1 and A-1 sheets.  Now, in the 2013 version, if I'd slide X-1 or A-1 out of the way, I'd see A-3 sitting right there on top, all happy and pretty where I left it.

Photoshop :: How To Disable Tabs In CS6 Windows

May 14, 2012

I am not a fan of the application frame. I disabled it because I want my files in separate windows the Mac way. But when I open a second file, it appears as a tab in the first window. I hate these tabs. I want my files to open in a separate window, the same way I have always worked. Can Photoshop CS6 be made to behave like previous Mac versions?

Photoshop :: Keeping Photos Within App Windows Without Tabs

Dec 12, 2012

I'm using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 with a dual monitor setup. In a prior version, it was the case that multiple open photos could stay in the application frame, such that moving the frame would move all open photos with it, but without using tabs/partitions, which I dislike. Is there no longer a way to configure it this way? I've experimented with "Enable Floating Document Window Docking" and "Open Documents as Tabs", but they aren't doing the trick.

I'm often juggling several applications, and regularly find it convenient to move things from one monitor to the other based on what specific task I'm doing. I know tabs are one "solution", but are inefficient and impractical in my experience. The images I work with typically start very large and get resized/cropped during editing for use in email and the web. Consequently, I have open a mix of very large and small pictures, some portrait and some landscape. Using tabs or multi-up partitions, I can either view only the image I'm working on or some fixed number of images in a fixed (though adjustable) layout. In the latter case, I can usually only see a small portion of the large photos unless I manually resize them based on the current partition size, which changes based on what else I'm currently working on. If I choose to have one "Fit on screen", it's resized based on the full screen size, not the partition the image is in, so again I'm only able to see a portion of a large image. Smaller pictures end up with wasted space within their partitions.

AutoCAD Inventor :: IDW To DWG - Multiple Sheet Tabs

Oct 28, 2011

Is there any way to cause Inventor to convert a multi-sheet IDW to an Autocaf DWG file that puts each IDW sheet on it's own tab in the dwg?

IDW ---Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 3, etc

DWG - Tabs for Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 3, etc ALL IN ONE DWG FILE

This so we can do batch printing and not have to maunually assemble dwg file with multiple tabs from the individual dwg files generated by Inventor - as near as I can tell, there is no way to get Inventor to NOT create a separate dwg for each sheet in the IDW???

Also, is there a way to print a list of all of the current layouts within a drawing.

So, is there a way to do this, replace the previews with file names, or something like that?

Any LISP routine that can create multiple paper space layout tabs and can name them incrementally. I have a template and I wanted to copy tab2 of my layout multiple times and name them incrementally. I have a code shown below that comes close to what I need it to do but it creates a "New Layout" instead of copying the tab I need it to. Please see code below:

Enter layout name prefix: "))

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Switching Layout Tabs By Clicking On The Tabs?

Sep 19, 2013

issues switching layout tabs by clicking on the tabs?

Occasionally, clicking the Model or other layout tab results in no action, as if I'm not clicking on it.

All other controls (within and external to C3D) function normally so it's not a mouse hardware issue.

It will usually correct itself if I "restore down" the main application window, then maximize it again.

The -layout command is a workaround too.

Photoshop :: Multiple Windows In CS6

Mar 21, 2013

I recently installed CS6 on my computer at work, and I have only had problems with Photoshop.

1. I open two different files in Photoshop, therefore multiple windows are open in Photoshop, so that I can copy and paste from one file to the other. However, both windows display the same info and show that the files are identical when they most definitely are not. Objects and text then start jumping back and forth until I am back to the original window and do not have any others open.

2. When I move objects, it is delayed. For example, I move an object 3 spaces over, but it only moves 2 times until I click off of the object and then it completes the third move.

Photoshop :: CS Won't Open In Windows 7?

Oct 22, 2012

I'm on Windows 7, running CS (2003, I thought it was CS3), and I recently installed a Monoprice graphics tablet that I assume was causing issues with my OS and mouse (PC/mouse kept locking up), and ultimately PS would no longer open either... so I uninstalled the tablet, which seems to have fixed the OS/mouse problems (after some more hassle), but PS would still not open. I just uninstalled the PS SW and reinstalled it, but still can't get it to open.

When I go to open it, it starts to boot up, but then hangs at the same point... the boot screen comes up and toggles through startup to the point of "Reading Text Global Resources...Done." then just hangs.

Also, I've seen similar threads that generally say to "Ctrl+Alt+Shift" etc to reset things, but when I try that, it doesn't bring up a reset option that I can find...
