View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to do a simple resize of a rectangle marquee after I have drawn a selection onto my document.
I opened an image in a new PSD document, and drew a rectangle marquee around the selection I want to cut. Problem is the rectangle marquee isn't the size I want, so when I use transform selection to scale the selection, it causes the whole image to scale with the marquee I've drawn.
I don't want the image to scale, I just want the marquee I drew to scale into the desired size.
I'm trying to change the size of a rectangle wall and I'm looking for "length" and "width" buttons in the properties manager box and can't figure it out. I thought I could just key in the new size after establishing an anchor point.
I've tried lengthen and extend. But the object is a closed polyline and what I'm doing is not working. Not having much luck with the key-grips either.
The wall is 47'2" and I want it to be 46' 8".
I cant see how to do this but there must be a simple way of doing it. Howe do I have pointed corners for the top left and top right then curved bottom left / bottom right of a rectangle that I create. I tried unlocking the shape but it still seems to do all or nothing. Am I missing something obvious?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am completely unable to get a couple of the photos to resize to where they will print in an 8x10 (960x768) format. No matter what I do, they're either cut off or they're distorted. I know the problem is that the original jpg file from my camera is not exactly the right proportions but isn't there some way to correct that using DPX?
In the three above, the people on the ends are cut off when I order the prints, despite my edits and resize efforts. In this one, the print comes out distorted because the sides are squashed in when it is printed at the store.
I have been trying to crop a section of a given size from a photo along with a 1px border (379 by 285).However when I try to do this the resulting image is 378 by 284. I also wanted to have a slight curve at the corners but can't see how todo it in this version.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I draw an stroke/line around an rectangle shape and let it be "INSIDE of the rectangle". Like in Photoshop in the stroke layer effects.
What I have so far: I am aware of the "line" option. BUT it paints the stroke OUTSIDE of the rectangle and extends its size. This is NOT what I would like to have.
There are many ways to skin this particular cat. This is the way that I do it.

Is there anyway that can be maintained for the original picture shape.
I was using an earlier version of that a graphic designer and have upgraded to version 9, I never had any problem resizing image in the previous version.
Any way to prevent an end user from changing the aspect ratio of an image - in this case, a company logo? I recently designed a new logo for our company, but the persons responsible for applying it to certain marketing materials have been stretching it and making it look different on pretty much every piece of media.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI`m still using Xara X1... and am having two issues with the rectangular tool.
First, the rectangle draws on an angle, almost more like a diamond. I would like it to draw parallel to a horizon.
Second, the rectangle draw includes a linear fill. I would like to lose that parameter so that the rectangle can be a simple solid color that I can choose for myself.
I am brand new to web design and I have Web Designer 6.0. I've looked at video instructions and can not figure this out. I am trying to group a simple rectangle filled with color to some text that will make the rectangle in the background, the text in front, and be one object. It says choose both objects and then group them, but I can choose the rectangle or the text, but not both. I know this is a simple thing to do, but I'm brand new and can't figure it out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is an anomaly that i've noticed for several versions of Xara. example: type tool> type a word, 8pt
Artistic Text looks correct 8pt size but, When scaling the type by dragging from any corner node the text will stretch vertically! I then have to go back and resize the type.
I want to create a rectangle with the correct dimensions for use in a HD video menu. It will be filled with graphic elements as well as text boxes. As referenced in the title it is for a 16x9 aspect ratio. I tried creating a rectangle 16"x9" but that looked too big.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it is the update or not but every time I fill a rectangle with noise and create a bitmap copy and try to erase the white with Medhi eraser classic XP&GD and XDPX now stops working. I have tried this over and over with the same result, or should I say lack of a result? All I am trying to do is make a star field. This is the same basic method I used before to create animated snow..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at the expanded DTP functionality in XDP9 and have question about resizing columns.
Say I wanted 2 columns that were different widths - I would open up the 'A4 1-Column' template, select the Text tool, right-click inside the column, take the 'Columns...' option, increase Number of columns to 2 then adjust each columns width as desired by dragging the red corner handles. The problem here is that it is very easy to inadvertently alter a columns height because it's very difficulty to move a mouse horizontally without wavering a little bit vertically up or down. Is there a constrainer keyboard key or some other method that ensures vertical movements are ignored?
How do I save an image so that it is rotated away from straight up and down. I want to put images on a website at about 45 degree angles, but I can't remember (or find) how to do it. I can rotate it image, of course, but whenever I try to save it, it comes back straight up and down.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a strange problem with my ViewCube. My screen is showing the world ordinate system as it should in the standard plan view ( X horizontal,Y vertical); however, my ViewCube is skewed to the right about 30° (top view and rotated about 30° right). It is set to orient to the current UCS and the current UCS Is World. If I use the ViewCube to change the setting and orient it as top view orthogonal (north straight up) my view (UCS World) gets twisted left by about (not exactly) 30°.Am I missing something or is this abnormal ViewCube behavior?

I have an editable poly that's a 1D circle (not created from circle tool, detached from another), but when I try to apply the shell modifier, it does not extrude "straight" - instead it's skewed.
The affect pivots only are set like this, so it's not going in the direction of the pivot either..
How do I change the direction of the shell?

I am currently creating a 3D model of a building of a complicated geometry. I managed to do this in AutoCAD 2013 but when I exported the iges file and imported it to AutoCAD Inventor Fusion, I get a lot of skewness. This is particularly so for the cylinders I extruded in AutoCAD 2013.I have been looking at this problem for almost a week already. I have attached the photo of the skewness shown in AutoCAD Inventor Fusion.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that in one learning project my Perspective Viewport is completely skewed. Other projects are fine, just this one (so far).
Information:
See image IF01.jpg (below) the ViewCubein the Top Right of the Perspective Viewport is perfectly squared and showing the Left View - yet the Grid and all Objects on and around it are angled incorrectly.
Image IF02.jpg shows the Grid and Objects correctly aligned the way they should be - yet the ViewCube is now all off square!
I'm working in a CMYK workspace on a vector graphic with multiple shapes. The above photo is a portion of the graphic as it appears in Illustrator. There are only three color swatches being used.
When I export the file to a PNG, this is what happens:
The two shapes that make the creases of the hand come out a dull color that looks as though the opacity was lowered. I'm using the exact same color swatch for these two shapes as I am for the other blue areas seen in the photo. I've even tried to retrace the two shapes entirely, but I had the same result. My guess is that it has something to do with the yellow area, but I don't understand why it would be having trouble when the yellow shape in the bottom-left corner functions normally when a blue shape is placed in front of it.
I'm Alex and I am new to Inventor. We just switched to Invetor From CAD and have been learning as i go mostly. I have been experiencing problems that are leading to major setbacks due to requireing me to redraw multiple items. With my job we have to use wide flange beams and square columns etc..I'm able to draw the indidviual parts and at times have no problem with anything being offset, crooked, skewed or anything. But I find that I'm doing something in the assembly process that is causiing my parts to become skewed/distorted in the assembly and thus also on my view layouts for prints.
