Jul 16, 2013I can switch and go to another graphics program, but I would like to figure it out and use XARA X1 to accomplish it. How do you apply a curl to a page sorta like this:

Aug 30, 2005I have found loads of tutorials showing how to do this with a normal single tone page but I am having trouble getting the curl to work well on the bottom right hand corner with the texture and also the torn edge. I have tried distorting it but it just goes all blurred.

Jan 30, 2006I was playing around with the page curl effect and found it quite cumbersome to do it over and over again in order to make the character rip through the centre of the page. Is there any easy way to achieve this effect....or maybe an action or filter?
For instance, in the picture, I want to make bugs bunny appear to have ripped through the hole with page curls along the border of the hole.

Mar 23, 2011I tried to apply a transparency to a beveled rectangle and was unsuccessful to get any effect to apply. Tried to make the bevel first and then apply transparency and vice-versa, a transparent rectagle and tried to do bevel effect. Neither way would work.
Don't they play nice together, or do I have to try it in PP?

Jun 1, 2011I use the default page very unusal way by keeping the width & height with max. page size. I need your favour as if i want to A4 page border i am going back again and choose a4 page and double click on the rectangle to achieve it and again i choose by max. page.
create a a4 page border, or any preferred size for executing them using shortcut while keeping my max. page size.
GIMP :: Filled Rectangle And Multi-page TIFFs
Mar 5, 2013I'm coming from paint.net, which is bloating tif images to the extreme......I work on tif's for work (engineering revisions) as well as multi-page tifs.Needless to say, I need to get up to speed on Gimp as fast as possible, as work places don't like a learning curve The image editor used by others is atrocious.
I see the Gimp will open multi-page tifs, but how do I save them back as multi-page? Or is this not possible?
And how do I go about drawing a filled rectangle? A good deal of my work is digitally "whiting out" things on technical drawings. I see the brush tool, but not a filled rectangle.

Jan 24, 2011I cant see how to do this but there must be a simple way of doing it. Howe do I have pointed corners for the top left and top right then curved bottom left / bottom right of a rectangle that I create. I tried unlocking the shape but it still seems to do all or nothing. May 13, 2011I'm trying to blur some text so that it blends in with the background a little. I found the perfect way to do this using the Live Effect, Soften Filter, Motion Blur. However, when I finish getting it to blur to exactly how I need it to look, there is no option to apply this to the text. When I close the box (the only option available) I lose the effect! How do I get it to apply to my text? Do I need to change the text to a shape first?

First, the rectangle draws on an angle, almost more like a diamond. I would like it to draw parallel to a horizon.
Second, the rectangle draw includes a linear fill. I would like to lose that parameter so that the rectangle can be a simple solid color that I can choose for myself.

Nov 3, 2011Okay, so I have about 25 layouts on this particular drawing that already have a default page setup assigned to them. I just created a new page setup and want to apply it to these layouts...but I cannot. I can select the right setup in the publish window but it does not stay current after publishing.
The problem also comes up if I do a "-purge" or wblock the entire drawing as to remove weird elements. The pagesetups then show as missing.
If I create a new drawing and setup the page setup for the first time AutoCAD will ask if I would like to apply to all layouts. Where is this option for existing drawings?

Now, I'm trying to figure out how I can apply some kind of transparency to the edges to soften them up a bit so they aren't so stark and will overlay nicely over my site background once the image is uploaded.
