Xara :: Apply A Motion Blur Effect?
May 13, 2011I'm trying to blur some text so that it blends in with the background a little. I found the perfect way to do this using the Live Effect, Soften Filter, Motion Blur. However, when I finish getting it to blur to exactly how I need it to look, there is no option to apply this to the text. When I close the box (the only option available) I lose the effect! How do I get it to apply to my text? Do I need to change the text to a shape first?

Jan 20, 2011I have created a column graph with a large amount of data. I would like to apply two different colors to the positive and negative columns. Whenever I click on a column and go to object>graph> the column section is unavailable. I checked to see if the graph had become ungrouped, even though I never selected it. If I select the graph as a whole it does not say ungrouped. When I select a column the ungroup tab is greyed out. Does that mean my columns are ungrouped?

Apr 9, 2011I need to produce a PNG image that will be used as a menu bar that has a shadow effect on the top side only. The image will ultimately be just 1 pixel wide and then be repeated as required to create the right width (length) on the web page. How can I slice the image without getting a shadow effect on any of the other 3 sides?
Obviously the edges of the image must be sharp so there is no banding effect when the image is extended.

Dec 19, 2013I want the text on my layer to react in negative to the layers underneath. I set the layer to "Divide" but it doesn't affect the entire word. Check out the attachment to see what I mean. The text, "Desirae" is on the layer "lettering" and is set to Divide.
All I want to accomplish is for the word to be readable against the black and white.

Sep 24, 2008I used the contrast effect in photoshop on a few grayscale images to make the black parts of them darker. Then I transferred those images onto another computer, and now these images look like the complete negatives of what they were on the first computer. The black parts are white and vice versa. How do I get rid of this so that the images can appear black and white in the right spots on any computer after using the contrast function?

Since effects are not recordable, I added it using "Insert Menu Item..." and saved .aia file, which contained 3 params (itnm, lcnm and cmid). These params were enough to invoke 3D Revolve Options Dialog using SDK, but nothing more. Two questions:
Is it possible to suppress Options dialog? I used kDialogOff, but without effect. I suppose that dialog showed because I haven't specified any additional parameter (like x, y, z rotation, angle, surface, etc), which leads to second questionHow to find out list of params that are necessary for particular effect?
Generally, is it possible at all to apply Effects using PlayActionEvent?
Premiere Pro :: Apply A Video Effect To A Track?
Jul 11, 2010I just came over from Sony Vegas Pro 9 (which kicks ***, but has bad native support for DSLR files).
In Vegas you can apply effects to video in three ways:
1. A whole clip in the project media bin (automatically applying such effects to all timeline events using this clip).
2. Individual timeline events.
3. Entire video tracks (automatically applying such effects to every clip on the track).
Is this possible in Premiere CS5? I find it hard to believe that it's not possible since it is such a useful thing to do. For example, what if you have a bunch of footage that you want to look grainy but you don't want to apply the same effect to every timeline event from the clips because it is time consuming and creates many sources of change if you want to tweak the effect settings?

Feb 13, 2014I am trying to draw a sun-like shape. I started with a star polygon and apply the Twist effect. That gets me pretty good arms on the sun, but I'd like for something a bit more flame-like, so I'd like to get the arms to now bend back in the opposite direction. Is there any way to use or modify the Twist effect so that I can apply it a second time but bend further out in the opposite direction? Or is there some other good way to get the rotation along all the arms.
