Photoshop :: "Negative" Effect After Using Contrast On Another Computer
Sep 24, 2008
I used the contrast effect in photoshop on a few grayscale images to make the black parts of them darker. Then I transferred those images onto another computer, and now these images look like the complete negatives of what they were on the first computer. The black parts are white and vice versa. How do I get rid of this so that the images can appear black and white in the right spots on any computer after using the contrast function?

I want the text on my layer to react in negative to the layers underneath. I set the layer to "Divide" but it doesn't affect the entire word. Check out the attachment to see what I mean. The text, "Desirae" is on the layer "lettering" and is set to Divide.
All I want to accomplish is for the word to be readable against the black and white.

Likely a pretty simple procedure, but I just can't figure it out. The Word Negative dealing with the effect, did not show up in the index or search of the app's help.

What is the effect or process to, for example, ensure that normally washed out bright background on, say, a sunny beach, has same depth and contrast as the darker subject in the foreground? It is an unnatural state since your eye and most cameras will adjust to one extreme or the other.

I have CS5 installed on a desktop computer that crashed and I can't get it working to deactivate CS5. I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.

Is there a way to convert from Canon Raw to Adobe Digital Negative (dng) while retaining the file name? For instance, I would like for "IMG_1709.CR2" to become "IMG_1709.dng" rather than New "File01.dng". Currently, it seems to force me into choosing a new file name. I want the file to be converted but want to retain the portion of the filename that appears in front of the "." (dot).

Quick question: If I am creating a black line drawing with a brush, how can I ensure that I will be able to alter the contrast later on? Sometimes it seems to work, other times not at all (i.e. if I open the histogram, it shows just one line all the way to the left; the lack of colour suddenly becomes an issue).
I like to use a soft, slightly opaque brush at first - which with the tablet gives it a nice range of pressure, but then usually I need to up the contrast at a later point.
I'm using PS CS6.
