View 2 RepliesI do quite a bit of Photoshop work but it is simple. I am trying to re-create the look of this image but struggling on it. I did some that were close but the look was off.
The black layer is added in, any tips on how it is done and what tools are used to go around the relief so well?
I design flags for people and have worked with Illustrator for just over a year. Most logo's I've worked are 2D and I've never had any issues that I could overcome ( I learn as I go along) however I have been given a logo which has the Extrude & Bevel effect on (which I haven't worked with before) (see first image). I have to make this logo much bigger but when i do it stretches and reshapes the logo. (see 2nd image).
The scale stroke & effect box, is checked. I am working in CS6. So how do I resize this logo proportionately?
How do I "flatten" the Transform Effect in the Appearance panel so I can edit the copies as individual objects?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver wondered how to perfectly fill an outline with touching circles? I did -- after seeing the example image in Solving design effect - image made of perfectly arranged circles.
It took me a while to get the proper calculations, but -- Here It Is! A Javascript, written for Illustrator CS4 (it might work on other versions as well), that fills a selected outline with circles. Download zipped script from my site: [URL] ...., unpack if necessary, and put it in your Illustrator Scripts folder to make it available the next time you run Illy, or anywhere else (you have to browse for it each time).
Select any path -- but no live text; you have to convert it to outlines and select each character in turn. Then run the script.
It displays a simple dialog, where you can set a maximum and minimum circle size as a percentage of the selected object size. In addition, you can select either a plain basic color, or select any of your current Swatch Groups; in that case, each of the circles are filled with a random color from that group.
The script may take a while to run. Usually, only a couple of seconds for a simple rectangle, but it may run into minutes for objects with lots of curves and/or holes. I didn't have the guts to run it on a vectorized world map, to recreate Mario "Quasimondo" Klingemann's Foam World Map; but, in theory? Possible.
This image only took a few minutes:
I have created city/landscape artwork using photoshop line and box tools. If you go to URL... then click on the link that says (click here to view Gotham City) you will see one of the images I am talking about. Can this image be made to look the same in vector.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used the contrast effect in photoshop on a few grayscale images to make the black parts of them darker. Then I transferred those images onto another computer, and now these images look like the complete negatives of what they were on the first computer. The black parts are white and vice versa. How do I get rid of this so that the images can appear black and white in the right spots on any computer after using the contrast function?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to transfer 8mm tapes to my computer to make DVD's. I bought a "Startech S-Video / Composite to USB Video Capture Cable w/ TWAIN and Mac® Support" so that I could use any software w/it. I thought I could use Microsoft Movie Maker, but it doesn't work. So, I got VideoStudio Essentials X4 with the capture device. All my tapes are fine, and they play fine with I'm capturing...but when I go to view the video, it's jumpy. I only did a few minutes to see how it would do and that's where I hit a wall. I've emailed with Corel support for almost 2 months to find out that they don't support the software I got. As a last resort, he asked that I download the free version of VideoStudio Pro X4. I did, and still the same thing happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically, I want to be able to create a glass effect on a square icon tile. I want the glass to be translucent so that the image behind the square icon tile is blurry (hence the translucency). I know how to create effect if I want it over some user-defined background layer, but what I am trying to do is a bit different. I need to import a PNG file into a theme program, and it uses this glass tile. I want the glass tile to have the translucent effect, but the problem is, I can only get the effect to work if I create a layer over a user-defined background layer. What I want is to have the translucent effect over whichever background is used in my theme program. I am not sure if this is possible to do with a PNG file, or even possible at all. If anyone could shed some knowledge on this I would greatly appreciate it.
