Revit :: Unable To Unzip Training Files?

i have downloaded revit archi 2009 and all four training files. but i am unable to unzip them as it says its already exists and cannot replace them. i think by default there are two folders in RAC 2009- common and metric- and i have saved the zip files on RAC 2009 folder. how do i get to them to unzip as i am missing express workshop training files when i started to do the tutorials. i have files upto worksets but nothing after that.

I'm trying to import/ open IFC files to Revit, I have 6 diffrent IFC files but when I try to open/import in revit, nothing happens, not even an error message.

I am having difficulty placing components in my Revit Architecture 2012 model. They are wall hosted (outlets) & floor hosted (floor boxes) components. I have taken the MEP, Base Building, Interiors, and Structural models and linked them into my new file. I have linked them in as overlay. Should I have changed the reference type to attachment?
When I go to place my components I recieve the following notifications from Revit and am unable to click any walls or floors: "Click on Wall to place Instance" (outlets) "Click on Floor to place Instance" (floor boxes). How do I set up these linked files so I can place my families?

I need to modify a curtain wall mullion profile and a plumbing fixture for a model created by another firm. I see the family (e.g Rectangular Mullion) on the project browser window, but I cannot locate the actual rfa file.
For the the Plumbing fixture, I can click on the fixture, and select "edit family", but it saves a new family instead of telling me where the orginal rfa is located.
Obviously, since the model is from another firm, the rfa file is not located on the server where our firm typically stores family files. It's not on the C:// Program Data/ Autodesk/ RAC2011/ Imperial Library...

I bought a new computer and the salesman convinced me to add Photoshop CS2 to the deal. I have previously worked a lot on my old computer with (lo and behold!) Photoshop 5.5. I feel I know it as good as a hobby enthusiast needs to, but I am not a pro (nor do I need to be). I admit I bought CS2 more for being uptodate with software and from the *feeling* I was missing out on features rather than *knowing* it to be so.
Now, I guess a lot of things have changed since 5.5 so I wonder if I will be ok with just the manual or if I should get something else as well for training purposes (bear in mind, this is a hobby endeavour and I am not setting out to work professionally with PS, just build my personal websites and making hobby graphics). But since it took me 5 years to find out how to create a square wich is not filled but simply stroked (I never understood that I should be reading about stroking paths, I was just angry there was no 'create non-filled square' tool), I would like to avoid similar restraints on my creativity when switching to CS2. This anecdote may indicate a very superficial knowledge of 5.5, but I think rather that my problem is that since I never bothered trying to learn 5.5 from the beginning (since I am just a hobby enthusiast) I know some things quite well, but there are also elementary things that I ignore.
I saw a great deal on ebay for the CS essential training dvd, which was so cheap I consider buying it, because I have not found any deals on the training dvd for CS2, and I certainly won't fork out the retail monies for it, I am not that keen on learning. But would this be stupid, I mean using CS-training material to get to learn CS2?

I would like to have a more broad font selection on Paint.Net, and after doing a little research here, I've come to understand that I need to download the font, and then unzip it. How to do that.
note, my computer has Windows 8. I'm sure that doesn't change much, but the translation might be a little funky.

I have just recently installed AutoCAD LT 2014 on Windows 7 (Running on an intel iMac through Bootcamp). Ever since then i am receiving notifications when performing a save.
AutoCAD is telling me it cannot perform the save and is creating a .tmp file in the same location on the server as the file should be.
this is causing major performance issues and happens almost every second time I attempt to perform a save. The issue is that we are getting multiple versions of the same file duplicating on the file server which is very quickly going to cause capacity issues considering most files are 2-4mb in size.

My titleblock seems to be corrupted and I can't edit it. I need to edit some text on it (highlighted), so when I am on the sheet view in the project I select the titleblock and click 'edit family.'
When I load it into the project I get this error. I would happily create a new titleblock, but I this is used in many places, so I need to edit this one. I tried to upload my Revit Error Report, but this forum is saying it is not a valid extension.

I am no longer able to import any type of file into Revit. It doesn't matter if it is a CAD file, Image file, or a new Family. When I click the import or load button the program appears to freeze and no dialog box appears. I can hit escape and its back to normal. I tried seeing if the dialog box was hidden behind all my open programs but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

I had downloaded R.A 2012 last year and activated it. This past November, i had issues with my tower and reset it back to factory. Now I downloaded R.A 2013 first and now i can not download 2012 even when i go to "My Downloads" and try to reinstall it through Autodesk.
I have a project that requires 3 buildings and i am having a hard time making a roof for the second building. Some reason, I get "unable to create roof" when i get to the second building.

I can't seem to get the stairs to cut say half way down. The normal view range for the view doesn't cut it, and neither does a plan region. Going up is great, I don't see why cutting it down is so difficult...?

I can place a solar panel on the roof, but cannot do anything with it. When I try to tilt it from upright, it turns yellow and says "cannot rotate" . Been stuck on this problem for a week now, and am quite frustrated as you can imagine. Have tried every trick that I and others have suggested to no effect. Seems to be constrained to one of my vertical reference lines. Reference line is listed as the "host", but it's greyed out, so I can't change it. Tried to disassociate from reference line, but can't.
Went in to "family" and noticed that there's and extrusion underneath the panel (invisible when placing the panel). Don't know what it's there for, or if this has anything to do with it. I can't delete or modify it.
I've also tried to create my own solar panel, but can't figure out how to save it as "my own" family.
I simply want to tilt the panel back about 35 degrees. I've tried to tilt it in all different views. Sometimes I can get it to tilt along the wrong axis, never on the one I want it to. Is there any way I can create my own panel with a sketch program, import it into Revit, and save it as a component?

I am having problems with void that i cant hide in my project. The void is inside my generic family but wont apply a cut unless i apply a length parameter to it. The problem i that in my project it seems to be visible as a yellow box that will also appear when printed.
Is it possible to hide this in the project by any way?

I am unable to import this planter box i created into the project I am working with. I have attached the planter box family file (rfa) I am working on and and a screen shot image (jpeg) of the planter box once it's imported into a project. I used another planter box template to create my family. Perhaps the file path is not set up correctly. Insert this family file into a project file.

I do not understand door wrapping from the manual. What does that mean?
Also, door wrapping (ext) from ext = 102.5mm, what does this mean?
Also, door wrapping (int) from ext = 177.5mm, what does this mean?
Door panel width is about half of door width. Therefore I am confused what panel width mean since it should be roughly same as door width.

On my current project I get the error message "Software problem" when attempting to open the project file. This problem began last night and affects the project file and all automatic backup files of my current project. It does not seem to be affecting other projects.
how to recover this file?

Having just download a free trial and being very new to revit--I notice when I open revit and the project I have been working on I can see faintly and briefly the properties and project browser box but they disappear as it's opening and I cannot figure out how to get them on my screen.
Did I hide them somehow with out realizing it? Where do I go to get them back on my screen again?
