On my current project I get the error message "Software problem" when attempting to open the project file. This problem began last night and affects the project file and all automatic backup files of my current project. It does not seem to be affecting other projects.

With the AutoCAD Revit 2014 I am unable to open DWG file. It gives me a failed to open error. I have attached screen shot below. We did download DWG TruView 2014.

Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.
We are working in revit server with two clients . recently we installed one more Lacal server and i checked the speed and all but whenever i try to open heavy file ( 300 Mb file ) from revit server it giving error after some time that server not responding and not open the file . but i checked 15 to 30 mb file it working in same server . Is their any size limitation in revit server . My internet speed is ok that time . So i think its related to revit server
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with void that i cant hide in my project. The void is inside my generic family but wont apply a cut unless i apply a length parameter to it. The problem i that in my project it seems to be visible as a yellow box that will also appear when printed.
Is it possible to hide this in the project by any way?
I am unable to import this planter box i created into the project I am working with. I have attached the planter box family file (rfa) I am working on and and a screen shot image (jpeg) of the planter box once it's imported into a project. I used another planter box template to create my family. Perhaps the file path is not set up correctly. Insert this family file into a project file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving just download a free trial and being very new to revit--I notice when I open revit and the project I have been working on I can see faintly and briefly the properties and project browser box but they disappear as it's opening and I cannot figure out how to get them on my screen.
Did I hide them somehow with out realizing it? Where do I go to get them back on my screen again?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI added a FILE PATH label on my titleblock but when I load it to my project file it does not show. Why it does not show, I added a new lable for CLIENT NAME it showed fine. Just to test it out I changed the lable of the second one to FILE PATH and the first one that I did to CLIENT NAME. When I loaded it to my project, the second label dissappeared and the first lable now shows.

I need to be able to combine two revit project models into one .IFC export per floor. Initially I was able to accomplish this by binding the linked subcontractor’s model into my project model and then exporting each floor as an individual .IFC file. Within the past couple of weeks my sub-contractor has nested face based families into some of the more compex casework families. These new families are throwing up errors during the binding process that result in the content being deleted. Ultimately looking for understanding these warnings and how to resolve them so that I can continue with the work flow that was initially in place. How to streamline this process in the long run. I started looking into plug-ins or supplemental software that might enable me to merge .IFC’s generated from two different sources. I haven’t had much success.

I have been using this computer with X5 and XP professional and it works fine. I have a selection of vsp files that I use as templates, the only time I have had this message before is when I had my template vsp files write protected, which I have stopped doing. I have now installed Windows 7 on this same computer but cant open any of my previous projects. These projects were created using X5.

But for some reason, when I click on Project Window, it does absolutely nothing. The window does not pop up.

I have a Revit file with over 1,000 materials and associated appearance assets. It was created in a previous version of Revit before library support. What I want to do is create libraries from them. However, the only instructions to add them one at a time using dragging and dropping. That will take me days to do. Is there a way to simply create an asset or material library out of multiple materials from a project file at one time without having to individually select them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
I am having an issue when opening and saving files is very slow when I have a project active in the Project Navigator.
If I have an active project, and I open a file via Project Navigator or Windows Explorer, the process hangs for 15-20+ seconds at the 'Opening C:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.ac$' point, where it is creating the temporary file.
If I 'Close the current project' in the project browser and open the same file via Windows Explorer, the process takes less than a second.
I used railing tools and created railing in the project files. i want to change rail and Baluster.i created metric baluster and rail from family and saved in the local drive. i used in to my project also it is working fine.
i want to use this railing to some other project. how to get it either copy past or revit link or any other way because the railing created in project file.
