I am having problems with void that i cant hide in my project. The void is inside my generic family but wont apply a cut unless i apply a length parameter to it. The problem i that in my project it seems to be visible as a yellow box that will also appear when printed.
Is it possible to hide this in the project by any way?
I need to resolve the corner condition where two boards intersect. I am not able to create a void in order to cut the corner for the geometry. I would like to shape more than one side of the board and make it rounded. How do I edit the different sides of the geometry?

I am unable to import this planter box i created into the project I am working with. I have attached the planter box family file (rfa) I am working on and and a screen shot image (jpeg) of the planter box once it's imported into a project. I used another planter box template to create my family. Perhaps the file path is not set up correctly. Insert this family file into a project file.

Having just download a free trial and being very new to revit--I notice when I open revit and the project I have been working on I can see faintly and briefly the properties and project browser box but they disappear as it's opening and I cannot figure out how to get them on my screen.
Did I hide them somehow with out realizing it? Where do I go to get them back on my screen again?
I am working a little 'off piste' currently as I am usually designing buildings, however, I have been asked to design a mould for the casting of an additional mass of lead to be appended to the existing lead in the keel of a yacht.
In order to complete this exercise the volume of the mould must accommodate between 26 and 30 litres of lead which is the volume of lead required to give the correct weight.
I have begun this task by creating a new Revit Family (may have been better to create it in a Project Environment) essentially being a large extrusion, with a number of swept blend voids creating the mould cut out. I have determined this using my clients instructions for the type of cross sectional profile, its profile along its length and the footprint. Thing is I now have to work out what alterations are necessary in order to ensure that the mould volume is correct! See 3D View so far.

I use Revit 2014 with Service Pack 1.
When adding an element, say a door, to something like a wall, if there is a void within the door and everything is set properly to cut out a section of the wall, what is the resultant material colour that you see at the cut?
I've been trying this out and in the Realistic display mode, when I have a door with a recess profile around the frame, in brick I see the brick colour, but in plaster I see a grey which isn't the same as the default plaster colour?
The recess is 12mm into 12.5mm plaster.
What would be possible reason for a void not having any effect on cutting an object? I created a parametric void.Then I created an object.No change to the object. If I create an object then a void, it seems to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have inserted a recess paper towel dispenser into an interior wall. Then a 1/8" tile wall was added in front of the hosting interior wall. The opening for the recess dispenser only cut into the interior hosting wall, not the tile wall. I tried joining the two walls, but it didn't seems to have any effect. Is there any reason why the walls won't join?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am creating a tunnel with a profile consisting of multiple radios. In the attached images can be displayed. The problem I have is that by selecting one of the two tunnels and create a void with the profile of the second tunnel and perform cutting geometry indicates that I can not and I get the error message.
If I perform the same exercise to select a tunnel and create a void with a square profile, rectangular or cylindrical deaja if I make the cut geometry. I select the void that did work and edit it to add the profile you require and at the end of the model throws me the error again.
We are working on four computers of the same features and the same version of Revit Building Design Suite 2013, has installed the update 2.
I have created a simple pipe fitting family, a soil vent pipe terminal infact, but I cannot get the solid body created from a rotated profile to be cut by an arrayed extrusion void. I keep getting the error message, 'Can't keep the elements joined'!

The problem is I need to recreate this thing using some other method since I cannot place door and drawer faces on a plane that technically, geometrically does not exist, ie the area a receptionist would sit. View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to hide project geometry from model sketch? I am modeling a sheetmetal part where I need to sketch centermaks, part number etc. for laser cutting. I want to use xy planes for symmetry reasons when sketching, but I don't want them to appear in dxf. This is a problem if I create a dxf directly from the model.
Usually I create dxf files from drawing by adding new sheet where I create flat pattern view from the spesific part (excluding machinigs etc, only thermal cut boundaries visible). In the drawing I am allso able to show model sketches and hide unwanted project geometry. Is it possible to include these sketches to dxf?
I used railing tools and created railing in the project files. i want to change rail and Baluster.i created metric baluster and rail from family and saved in the local drive. i used in to my project also it is working fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit 2013 student version. I have successfully attached a decal on one of my walls and managed to show a realistic mode of the decal in my elevation. I would like to remove the decal lines (rectangle with x inside) but I am struggling to do this.
I have done some research on the web and so far, found out that I need to select the decal lines (or cross), right click and choose Override Graphics in View > By Element, and check Transparent. The problem is, my system does not display the option for Transparent; I am only given the boxes for Visible and Half-tone.
Is there a way to hide the lines between areas created via the split face tool? If not, my end goal is to have an area on a surface appear a different color than the surrounding area, with no lines between. The surface is the face of an extrusion in an in-place family.

Unable to add more than one project to a blu-ray disc
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running VideoStudio Pro X5. I spent all day yesterday on a little project and wanted to get it to youtube afterward. Unfortunately, none of my share options seem to be working! I've tried creating a disc, creating a video file, and uploading directly to youtube, but after everytime I try, I get an error message and VideoStudio closes out. I tried with the demo of X6 as well. The error message says APPCLOSE and gives the dump file, I believe.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to add a camera to my project but when I do, instead of just popping up in the layer section it also pops up lines in the actual project, which is not supposed to happen.Also, when I try to zoom in or do anything with it, the camera lines on the screen reacts to it but not anynthing else.
Not the text, not the background, not the reflection, not the logo's, nothing!
If there is no level 3 in the project browser. How can you add a 3 level to the project.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the PSP X3 Ultimate. Installed everything with no issue. Rebooted edited a photo saved it then opened Project Creator to upload it to Facebook. Put in my correct email and password. Yet I get the error of:
Unable to connect Please check your network connection.
the same machine that has PSP/Project Creator there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I've checked my UN/PW for Facebook and my connection and everything is correct.
It appears I can not even connect via PSP to check for updates etc.
When setting up a new project, I'm unable to change the bit depth for the project. It's set to 8-bit and ghosted. The graphics render button has a selector but when clicked it doesn't bring up the drop down.
My guess is that it has something to do with my hardware configuration (read: I need to upgrade my GPU) .
I was trying to rotate the entire model to align with the grid of another building. I need to do that in order to export to Navisworks easily without any adjustment.
After I select the entire model in 3d view, and going back to the plan view, the rotate tool is ghosted. What's the reason of it? See attached file.
