View 1 RepliesI'm creating a Construction Template in Revit 2014. When I create new levels these appear in Floor Plans and automatically generate a new Structural Floor Plan view with the new levels but the previous levels don't appear (those that come in Revit by default).
I dont want to delete the level 0 which comes by default.
It is almost seeming like you should not try to creat these views in templates to get a jump start on projects. but for the life of me I am not understanding how you can get level lines to appear elevations that have already been create. or in new ones?is there away to successfully get these back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a project and i created a land plot and set each level line to the proper elevation but not all of the level lines appear in every view. In the North view all of the level lines and the walls i have created appear, but the walls don't show up in any of the other views. Also the North, West, and South views show all of the level lines but the East view does not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some Symbolic Lines in a Revit Family, any time I go to "delete" any of them the file goes into "Regenerating" mode and will not come out out of it without hitting "Cancel". If go to move or copy a "Void" I have created in the files it does the same thing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe underlay does not show up for Level 1 when I am on Level 2, but it does show up for Level 2 when I am on Level 1. the underlay option is on for Level 1, so I'm not sure why it's not showing up. I am using Revit 2014.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBeen using Xara Xtreme Pro 5 for several years and this is an issue that happens now. Parts of lines disappear in a drawing at different zoom levels. The drawing might look perfect at one zoom level, but if I zoom in from say 100% to 500% parts of lines disappear from the drawing. The fix is usually having to click on the line or zoom to a different %. I have attached a picture to show the issue. The hat on the left shows the missing part of the line (circled in red), and the hat on the right shows how the line actually is.
If this was happening in a pc game I would describe it as clipping. I'm on a Pentium 4 PC 3 GHz, Win XP SP 3 2 gigs of RAM. GeForce 6200 if this comes into play .
When trying to lay a music track in my project from the Auto Music library, I am unable to adjust the level of that music. Prior to laying the track the volume control is grayed-out and unavailable.
After the track is laid and the volume control is available, it has no effect on the music level in the laid track.
Is it possible to copy a phase from one level to the other. For example, on Level 1 I have walls that are Existing, Demo, and New Construction.
If I select the objects and copy to clipboard and paste the objects to another level they will all switch to New Construction. Is there any way we can have the walls remain the same phase when copied to another level?
Is there a way to set the visibility of elements in a 3D view according to the Level they are associated with?
The VG tab which opens the filter dialog provides a check box for the "Levels" category, and the relevant parameters are made available.
But I can not seem to create a filter rule which evaluates any of those parameters (name, elevation, etc...) to then isolate the visibility of those elements in the 3D view that either meet, or do not meet the criteria. Nothing seems to work.
To achieve a "similar" effect in a 3D view, I can use a Section Box, but that is a very clunky and imprecise way.I can also create a Shared Parameter for "Level" and perhaps filter successfully that way, but that seems redundant with the Levels intelligence already established.
I noticed that Revit likes to show the entire stair going down. This works for me in a lot of cases but I have a project that the second floor is showing the stair all the way down to the first floor, and there is another stair going from the second floor to the third that I really need to see.
Plan regions don't seem to allow me to add a break line below the second floor and see the stair from the second to the third floor. The floors are on and the view is set to hidden.
The attached png shows the up stairs in blue that I would like to see and the Down stairs I would like to cut at the landing.
The “level” indicators are not cropped exactly based on the “crop region”,the “crop view” doesn’t crop the “level” indicators exactly as they extend outside the “crop region”.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to construct a wal with the start leve being the ground floor and the finishing Level being First floor level. every time i try to do this tho i get this message occur
"Top Constraint is invalid for the Level."
I've got a model and i created a new level as normal, propogated extents etc but when i created as section North to South (Vertical) in the model the level does not show. When i create a section from East to west (horizontal) then the level appears fine. I've tried creating many sections and this is always the case. If i select a level in the section and click on select all instances in entire project the number includes the additional level but i can't see it. It is not hidden in the view, not on a different workset or anything unusual...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where filtering my framing member schedules per Level by, for example, Level equals LEVEL 3 causes the entire schedule to be filtered to empty. We clearly have members constrained to and occuring on LEVEL 3.
The same happens when filtering for, say, at or above LEVEL 3, but interestingly not at or below LEVEL 3, in which case nothing happens -- that is, it still displays members clearly occuring only on and constrained to Reference LEVEL 5.
I'm modelling liner plates on a conveyor chute and I want the liners and the fixing bolts to align on between the walls which are different. angles.
I've modeled the liners on the first wall how I want them and now want to project lines from the top and bottom of the liner plates as well as the centers of the bolt holes on this wall to the adjacent wall.
I cant seem to get the lines to project onto the adjacent wall at the same level.
I've posted two images of the model that hopefully illustrate the problem. I would love to put a zipped folder of the model up to which is under 3MB in size but I keep getting an error message saying the size of the attachment is too large and that the maximum size is 1,572,864 bytes.
If Inventor 2010 has the capability of showing certain parts/sub-assemblies in phantom style lines on the idw/dwg file?
I have a box unit, where I want to show the base, but with the posts meeting it in phantom. Then when I do the drawing for the posts, I want the base and roof in phantom. Then when I do the roof drawing, I want the posts in phantom again.
I can't change the BOM level as it will apply to every level of detail. when suppressed, they completely vanish. Is there a way to do it rather than find the parts in the browser (whilst in the drawing) and change the properties (over-riding them)?
I'm just a novice when it comes to this program, a student in High school so I'm not very familiar with it.
Why is it that when I change one floor's surface (tile, carpet, ect.) and then make a seperate floor on the same floor but with a different surface, it changes BOTH floors like they are instances of each other?
How can I add a surface to individual floors on the same level? Ex. Carpet in living room, Tile in Bathroom.
I created an underground parking level but for some reason, I can't create a Space for it even though it has walls, a ceiling, and a floor.

Is there any way to lock the not editable views from opening and adding a new elements and make it secure ?

Searched and find, how to change the colors of the types, not why they are displaying in other colors than black.
Is it possible to show the exterior walls at a different detail level than the interior walls in the same view? Keep in mind they are all apart of the basic wall system family so there is no editing the family visibility at this point.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRevit 2013: Was playing around with sketching symbolic lines in a Generic Model family. I added a line and changed its LOD to be visible in fine only. Nevertheless, it was still visible in the family editor even when the view was set to coarse.
1) How can we verify visual behavior of a family while in the family editor if the objects visibility is not governed by LOD settings? (BTW: The family performs correctly when loaded in the project, just not in the family editor).
2) Is the fact that LOD is ignored in the family editor by design or a bug?
3) Is there any visual cue that tells us that a particular line will be not visible at a LOD?
4) Should we be duplicating Ref. Level views in the family to keep things straight?
My template don't have Floor Plan and Level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have trouble showing Underlay for level view when dealing with in-place walls. Basically, they dont work with Underlays - nothing shows up (even in wireframe mode).
Please have a look at attached file, dropbox link: [URL] ....
There is a Blend wall that starts on Ground level and goes as high as Top level. When you check whats visible on different levels (and RCPs) everything is fine (views respond to changing cut level and so on) - but when you try to Underlay one of the level views - nothing shows up. Basic idea is to show top edge for tracing with Linework tool - so it shows as Overhead.
Using LR4 (not 4.1) and Win7 Home Premium. Catalog had been upgraded from LR3 and LR4 catalog was working fine until now. I've been using LR since the beginning. Two problems, probably related. 106K photos over two drives, almost 3Tb.
At the catalog level, there are no previews. Normally previews of all 106K photos would be displayed. Message is "Click the "import" button to begin." Filter function does not work Message: "No photos match the filter".At the drive level, there are no previews. Message is "No photos in selected folder" Filter function does not work Message: "No photos match the filter". At the folder level, everything is fine, except two folders give the same message "No photos in selected folder" Filter function does not work in these two folders: Message: "No photos match the filter" 14K photos between the two bad folders. Dozens, hundreds, of other folders and subfolders are fine. Filter function works fine at folder and subfolder level. Collections are fine, including photos in the two folders giving the mesage "No photos in selected folder"
Tried to import the missing folders. Won't import because they're already in the catalog. Won't import even if I uncheck "Don't import suspected duplicates". Exported as a catalog one of the "No photos in selected folder" folders. It appeared to create a viable catalog with previews, search filters, etc. I edited a few photos with no problems. Although it did give a message saying several hundred previews were missing. But they seem to be there anyway.Deleted the folder from the catalog and imported from catalog the working folder catalog that I just created. Exported as a catalog the other "No photos in selected folder" folder. Same result as the first bad folder. I.e. It appeared to create a viable catalog with previews, search filters, etc. Although it did give a message saying several hundred previews were missing. But they seem to be there anyway. Haven't done anything with this second folder catalog. Intriguing, the same message about missing previews. The actual files and *.xmp files are in the bad folders.
