I'm trying to create a new local file but the option is greyed out (not available). We're using Revit Server 2013 and we have one Central Server and two Accelerators in different locations. This issue is affecting only one of the two locations.
View 1 RepliesWe have just installed a new server at work. We have transfered all of our Revit files to the server and resaved them as central files. We cannot seem to create more than one local file per Revit file even though we have already set up the file as a worksharing file. The one that sets up the Revit file is the only one that can create the local file. For the other user the create local file tab is grayed out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was editing my images on RAW when all of a sudden I guess I pressed an incorrect key (yeah you know those split seconds where something happened and you dont know what you did) and now everytime I want to use the Graduated Filter tool or the Adjustment Brush tool and I press on top of the image it gives me the following message:ERROR:Unable to Create Local Adjustment. All the local adjustment controls are set to haveno effect on this imageIt doesnt work on ANY raw images now, I tried pressing "Reset Camera Raw Defaults" and it still doesnt work.Is there a setting that I moved without noticing?At the time this happened I had 6 pictures on camera Raw I had synchronized them and I was doing small adjustments to one of the images, I had finished using the Graduated Filter tool on an image when then all of a sudden it stopped working.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Architecture office is using Mac Pro's with OSX and Parallels to run Windows 7 and Revit 2011. We are having issues with getting everyone to be able to work synchronize to the Central File. If one workstation (workstation 1) intially creates the Central File, puts it on the server then creates a local from the Central File they have no issue when synchronizing to Central. However if another workstation (workstation 2) creates their own Local File it does not synchronize to central, it tries and an error of "File Failed to Save" pops up everytime.
The Central File location is the same on both workstations (ex. \psfFirmProjectsActive ProjectsProject# and nameConstruction DocumentsDrawingsCentral File Name}.
We have also turned off all antivirus and firewalls to elimnate that as an access issue.
how we may be able to get everyone working with Local Files, and Synchronizing to Central?
I still have users using the old workflow (pre-2010) of creating local files by copying and pasting the central file from the server to their C drive and renaming the local copy. Is this workflow still supported in Revit 2012?
I have been suggesting to users to use the worksharing options in the open project browser, but sometimes for some people habits are hard to break, do I need to be concerned?
We are working in our office on a central model. the model is stored on a local server within the office premises. We are three people working on it. our problem is this when we open the central file on any of our computer "create New local" check box is inactive. but when one of us login as "Administrator" and then open central file in any of the remaining two computer the " Create New Local" is active.why this is happening and is there any way we can work with the file without loging in as Administrator.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had downloaded R.A 2012 last year and activated it. This past November, i had issues with my tower and reset it back to factory. Now I downloaded R.A 2013 first and now i can not download 2012 even when i go to "My Downloads" and try to reinstall it through Autodesk.
I have a project that requires 3 buildings and i am having a hard time making a roof for the second building. Some reason, I get "unable to create roof" when i get to the second building.
I need to resolve the corner condition where two boards intersect. I am not able to create a void in order to cut the corner for the geometry. I would like to shape more than one side of the board and make it rounded. How do I edit the different sides of the geometry?

Having trouble creating arrays of ceiling light fixtures in Revit 2013? It gives me this error message;
'Can't place inserts outside of hosts. These elements won't be copied'
I've adjusted all manner of settings to make sure the copies don't fall outside the limits of the host ceiling but without success. It only occurs with linear arrays on ceilings not radial arrays for ceilings or linear or radial arrays for walls?
With the AutoCAD Revit 2014 I am unable to open DWG file. It gives me a failed to open error. I have attached screen shot below. We did download DWG TruView 2014.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Revit 2014 LT. Trying to open a file created by another user/seat of Revit 2014 LT (trial version for now).
Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.
We are working in revit server with two clients . recently we installed one more Lacal server and i checked the speed and all but whenever i try to open heavy file ( 300 Mb file ) from revit server it giving error after some time that server not responding and not open the file . but i checked 15 to 30 mb file it working in same server . Is their any size limitation in revit server . My internet speed is ok that time . So i think its related to revit server

I render out the frames to AVI format, (abot 250 frames) but when I play the animation in VCL or any other mediaplayer, it seems to lack length completely - the timeindicator shows 00.00.00. I attached just a test animation, it's there but something's wrong..

On start-up of Designer7 I now get the error message "Unable to store information on your local hard disk. The disk may be full, or read-only. Ok" as pretty well the last thing in the start-up process. On pressing Ok, the dialog clears and the program will run normally. Opening and saving files works just fine.
My discs (where the program is stored, where my user profile is stored, where the drawings are saved and when the temp files and Windows swap file arel orated ) have ample space and are not RO. I also ran a disc check and they're not corrupted or damaged.
No malware seems to be present (checked with a couple of different programs) but the only thing that's different is that we had a power cut while Xara was running. Since then, it keeps giving me this message.
I've just updated to the latest version and accepted the default settings and it still gives me the message.

I need to create an IFC file, but the contents of my Revit file is an imported SAT or STEP file.
The export to IFC results in an empty IFC, as the SAT/STEP is not being exported to IFC.
I need this geometry to be exported to IFC!
I'm having some difficulty with a new issue that is occuring:I have a 3D model that I'm attempting to render. It has rendered recently with no issues. Now, this morning, I get the following error message:
Unable to create output file - Make sure destination directory is writable and that the disk is not full. Rendering aborted.The drive is only approx. 30% full. I've closed/reopened the file to no avail.Also, I've closed/restarted ACAD.It always seems that AutoCAD acts goofy whenever I have a deadline.
I have recently installed Inventor Professional 2012 Student Version, and I'm unable to create a new file, as the program crashes as I try to do so.
After starting Inventor, I select New than Standard.ipt. The file starts loading, the status of the loading process can be seen in the bottom left corner, than the "Open Documets in Session" counter in the bottom right corner changes from 0 to 1, as it should, I guess. And than, the program freezes. Sometimes, a message appears after several minutes that an error has occured, and that I should send an error report to Autodesk (which I did); but sometimes, no message appears at all, it simply crashes.
My computer specs are: Intel Core 2 @1,86 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX, 60 GB free space, Windows Vista (hotfix installed) Not a powerhouse, but I think it should be able to start a file properly I think, if I understand the system requirements correctly.
I couldn't create DVD disk, or, couldn't create video file either. It would go to about 99% & then hang the system for hours (until stopped with Task Manager).
I had installed all of the updates, including SP2. I've uninstalled today & I will re-install in the next day or so to see if it works.
I am using AutoCAD 2012. I’ve come to realize that my Sheet Set command won’t work, as I cannot get any sheet sets to open. When I select a sheet and try and open it, nothing happens at all.
Also, I did get an error message when trying to create a new sheet set, “Unable to create sheet set file: *filename*”

The employee is acting through screenshots. All worked well using 2009 Revit or Architecture on XP machines. However, we added new faster Windows 7 machines with 2012 products. The PCs are all 64 bit with 16g RAM and a 22mb internet connection.

Under the properties on that folder 'full permission' is checked for everything. All of the images that have been processed are saved into that folder as well.
I'm using Architecture 2011 trial and it generates good rendering, but after adjusting sun angle (time), I received a message: Make sure the destination directory is writable and that the disk is not full. Rendering aborted.
