I have a 3D (Camera View) of an interior where I have a number of picture frames placed on the walls. Each frame has a painting 'Decal' and all but 1 render correctly leaving a blank frame.
View 9 RepliesI keep getting a dialogue box that says "Revit was unable to render the view due to an unknown error during render calculations. The rendering operation will be canceled." The only option is to click "close" and when i do so, it continues to render but only the sky and grass. My buildings are not present.

When I try to place the decal, it only will choose 1 of the arcs or one of the straight peices. I need the one decal to stretch over the entire projector screen. I have attached a screen shot so you can see what I am trying to achieve.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit 2013 student version. I have successfully attached a decal on one of my walls and managed to show a realistic mode of the decal in my elevation. I would like to remove the decal lines (rectangle with x inside) but I am struggling to do this.
I have done some research on the web and so far, found out that I need to select the decal lines (or cross), right click and choose Override Graphics in View > By Element, and check Transparent. The problem is, my system does not display the option for Transparent; I am only given the boxes for Visible and Half-tone.
I have WMV 1080p30 source files that I am trying to render to an 5-6min MP4 HD file for upload to Youtube. I am able to make WMV HD files, but wanted to see if MP4 HD files would make a better final outcome on Youtube (Youtube seems to add a lot of jaggies to my WMV uploads). However, whenever I try to render anything to MP4 HD, VSX3 crashes (it never gets past the "Creating files" message). The windows error log states that the faulting modules are kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll. I have QT 7.6 (not the latest) installed. I have XSVX3 updated to SP2 (although the file downoaded was patch3.exe). In the Make Movie template and in Share/Custom , I don't get the option to see/manipulate any MP4 HD formats or even use H.264 compression. When I bring up Mpeg-4, it allows me to use mainly standard-def or non-HD resolutions and on-H.264 codecs. Is it not seeing the profiles/codecs for HD H.264 from Quicktime? Do I need QT Pro or just the free QT? I can render MP4 non-HD. As an aside, I see no sign that CUDA is being utilized.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a project I'm trying to render to an mp4...I previously rendered 2 different versions of it, then after this morning when I re-edited and finished the project, it doesn't let me render an mp4.
If I try to render, it goes through the whole process and then I watch as the file disappears when rendering is complete. It let me render to an AVCHD file, but it won't let me render an mp4 from it. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling VS x4 and installing the SP but nothing works.
i am having trouble with rendering two of my drawings. The rest have rendered fine. but these two drawings just show black when rendered. I've put in more lights, I've taken out lights, I've copied drawing into a new file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just doing a bunch of test renders and playing with lights when a weird render turned up out of nowhere that is sort of a transparent red and black? This happened yesterday, but it actually crashed maya. This time around, it didn't crash, but I'm unable to save my scene. This is the log for the error:

I am wanting to either render of hatch some linework. I'm wanting to make the ring red around the outside and grey on the inside ideally.
When I try this though,it keeps prompting me that the object isn't one the same plane, or something along those lines.
I've attached the drawing file I am talking about, and its 2013 format.
I have a issue with the wrap stabilizer, there Is an error that comes out and say unable to obtain video rendere.

The status bar never comes up, after about 30 minutes revit just pops up a box that says I do not have enough memory. (The green status bar on the bottom of the screen gets stuck at 84%). This cannot be, because I am rendering on draft quality settings an image that is 672 kb, and I am using the most recent Macbook Pro with VMWare.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get max to render to texture properly with network rendering. it renders just fine on one machine, but whenever i run it through the network option it saves the wron part of the strip.
I have tried it with several different machines and several different files and none of them work.
I have been playing with GIMP now for several months and love the program. One problem I have run into is I cannot figure out render the background of an image transparent so it can be merged with another image. Now, I have tried to read the instructions numerous times, but I have no background in understanding what a path is and several other terms. I have failed time and again and finally decided this is not something I can learn to do on my own.
Warning: I'll be honest. I have no experience in any form of image manipulation and even simple things might need to be explained.
I am rendering projects to print them in large format pages, but the printed images the edges are not so sharp, so I tried to rise the render quality, but the final result is always in 72. How can I give a higher quality in order to print those images in large format.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to utilize Revit ability to link an IES file as a lighting source in a lighting family. I'm running Revit Architecturer 2009. The ies files i downloaded from the manufacturer website produce an image inconsistent with what i would expect a light source to provide, instead of the "white" light, i get a red/green/black/blue image. I can link any of the ies files that are provide with Revit, and they work fine. it's only this Manufacturer provide file that's causing the error.

Is my laptop inadequate for this type of work?When it says - (18172 x 18172 @ 8 bpc) is that the resolution it's trying to output? The project is 6 seconds long and 1920x1080 resolution. I can render it at half resolution, but not at the 1080 res.
I have created some surfaces in Civil 3D ...the client wants to render them with Revit but isn't able to. Any way to make my surfaces compatible with Revit ? I'll admit, I don't know which version he is using.

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to adjust the settings of different objects I want to have a standard brushed stainless steel material so that the material renders accurately. It always seems to look so distorted. I feel like most of the materials in Revit are this way too. Floors look overly glossy and "fake". I am not looking for photo realism, but it seems like there must be a solution based on image galleries I've seen online. Are there any tips out there for what settings to use to get materials with reflective to render more accurately?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
Using Revit Architecture 2013 with Update 1 on a Windows 7 32 bit system. I've rendered successfully in the past ( a month ago, as I recall) and then, as I continued working on hte model, the ability was gone.
I receive either the files could not be uploaded or the files could not be translated errors each time. It's quite frustrating. I love this product, but I am in grief becuase of this.
I've tried all the suggested remedies in the book: Logged in and out from Revit, cleared the firefox cookies and cache (used ccleaner) logged in and out of the 360 account on the web and said my prayers. Several times. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Revit on a different computer, to no avail.
Since other models render perfectly, I suspect a problem with the model.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Revit Architecture 2012. I did a render and it looks fine in the default {3D} View. I selected to save it to the project and when I go to the renderings view to recall it, the color balance is all shifted off way way to the blue end. I tried going back over to render dialog and adjusting the white point all the way up, and it had the expected effect in the {3D} View (shifting everything to overblown orange), but nothing changed at all in the renderings View when I tried to resave it after making the adjustment.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm creating 3D architectural models; primarily interior views. I use the ANIPATH command quite frequently and I'm good there.
However, I have not been able to render a still camera view that shows the lighting and resultant shadows. Whenever I attempt to render a still from a particular camera; I set it to realistic. It shows the 3D objects with materials; however not the lighting.
I've been using ACAD for about 15 years now, and consider my skill level upper-intermediate.
So far, the only successful still renderings I've been able to do are those directly associated with the typical ortho views: i.e., NE, NW, SE, SW, front, back, etc. But no avail on rendering from the camera point of view.
I am trying to throw a screen shot up onto a TV model to make my rendering more fun and I can't get it to work right!!!
I duplicated one of the standard plastic materials in Revit's lib and replaced the color with a cutom image (first tried jpg then png). I had to tweak the transforms to get it to fit the screen. Looks great in the camera view but when I render the transforms are off.

I am trying to shrinkwrap an assembly to send out to a potential client, without giving away all our IP. The assembly has decals on one or two of the components which are key to identifying our product. I have yet to find a way of shrinkwrapping it that doesn't loose the decal... which check box I've failed to check/deselect, or is there a better way?
