3ds Max :: Unable To Get Render To Texture Properly With Network Rendering

I can't seem to get max to render to texture properly with network rendering. it renders just fine on one machine, but whenever i run it through the network option it saves the wron part of the strip.
 
I have tried it with several different machines and several different files and none of them work.

3ds Max :: Render To Texture / Normal Maps Don´t Render Correctly

The same scene, same settings, produce 2 very different outputs in max 2011 and 2012, render to texture for normals is currently useless in max 2012.

The blue one is a correct tangent normal map created from a sphere in max 2011, the colored one is the the one created inside max 2012 from the same objects and settings, and the last is another sample of normals generated in max 2012.

Revit :: Unable To Render The View Due To Unknown Error During Render Calculations

I keep getting a dialogue box that says "Revit was unable to render the view due to an unknown error during render calculations. The rendering operation will be canceled." The only option is to click "close" and when i do so, it continues to render but only the sky and grass. My buildings are not present.

Is there a way to enable IBL for network rendering?

It appears that the custom mental ray settings for IBL are not saved as part of the .max file so sending a job to a render farm does not have IBL enabled.

3ds Max :: Mental Ray Network Rendering

I saw something about being able to render faster using network rendering for mental ray, but I'm not sure where I've seen it, nor do I know how it works.

If this is possible it would be great, since a scene I tried rendering had an ETA of about 51 hours. So I turned off ray traced shadows, seems to have lowered the rendering time quite a bit, but I'm still gonna end up with about 26 hours of rendering. If network rendering could bring that time down, that would be great.

3ds Max :: Network Render Slow Down After A While?

My render servers slow down after ca. 20min (I don't know the time range, yet.)

They render in mental ray a frame in ca. 2-3Min... after 20min it slows gradually down to a exorbitant render time... The scene complexity do not change very much!

Maybe it depend on the fact that i render on windows 8 "release preview". With the older "Consumer Preview" i have no trouble.

I have 2 questions. I am working on a room and am rendering to texture. Once I have baked the textures and applied them to the objects, the objects turn gray. How do I view how the texture looks?

Also- if I grouped the walls for the 2 rooms, will that make it so I can render them to texture at one time? If I do a Select All there is no name under Objects to Bake in Render to Texture.

After Effects :: CC Not Rendering Properly

So today I was editing and I finished, so I tried to render it so I can have in a .avi. But once I rendered it I got no errors or nothing. So I went to the desktop were it should have been placed, I loaded it and it didn't render properly after a couple of secs the music stops playing and I didn't get the glow effects or the full edit. How do I fix this tell me if you need sertain information.

3ds Max Animation :: Point Cache While Network Rendering Ignored

backburner is a good tool, but it doesnt always work as expected... everything that is not an image is simply ignored while sent over the network. hence problems of "missing map". (and the server does not render anything if anything is missing) be it an audio file, or anything else. like the point cache file. max has no problem to send the XML file, but will not even look at the MC that is linked. those particular ones are giving me a very bad time dealing with them.

is there a way to trick max into baking point cache into a vertex animation or something ? (i know maya does it, but i never found a way for that in max) or maybe tricking backburner into sending EVERY files related to the max file. also, the "save as archive" doesnt take it eighter. i suspect someone forgot to implement it in the function..

3ds Max :: Network Rendering On Mac-minis Running Windows 7?

We have 4 PCs and 3 macminis here at work. All have 3ds max 2012 installed on them.

I can see the macminis in the backburner queue monitor. I turn the server on all the available machines and only the lum-pc, renderfarm01 and russell01 are available to render (these are the PCs). The mac minis remain idle. I cannot use them to render.

However, if I turn on manager on one of the macminis, and turn on server on all the other machines, the macmini running the manager can only see the other macminis. This does not make sense as I've installed full 3ds max on these mac minis so they should be good to go.

3ds Max :: Rendering Grass To Texture?

I have modelled some grass using peter guthrie method, which is in a word to model a grass blade and scatter it. Now my problem is it works good for the foreground but doing it in the background means a LOT of polys (~20 million polys) and mental ray was not too happy about it

So I was wondering if I could make a texture out of some area of the foreground and use that in the background (see image). Do you think that is doable...? I have not found a tutorial that renders an object (my grass blades, very high poly) into a texture for another object (the plane under them) and I don't really know where to start.

3ds Max :: Normal Map Not Rendering Details Properly

I'm trying to project a normal map from a high poly model onto its low-poly version but I'm having some problems.

I modeled some details on the high-poly model as you can see in FIG.1.

The details all have the same depth and everything as can be seen on FIG.2

But yet when the normal map renders, the detail loses depth the further they go from the center and the squarish detail at the bottom doesn't even show up at all. (FIG.3)

I tried pretty much everything I could think of to fix this, but nothing works.

Max 2010, Windows 7 Ultimate x86.
ATI Radeon 4870 512 MB.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale (2x3.0ghz), 4Gb Ram, DX10.

3ds Max :: Render To Texture Over Saturated?

i'm experimenting with texture baking / render to texture. I've setup a simple scene with a box and a sphere and a omni light, no exposure, mental ray. I've rendered to texture the "complete map" for both. Then i've switched to default scanline renderer, put the baked materials to 100 self illumination, but the result (on the right) is more saturated and darker of the original render (on the left).

I've tried with different setups, but the result is the same.

3ds Max :: Render To Texture Not Working?

I am trying to bake a light map by using render to texture. However, for some reason, whenever I render in a texture higher than256x256, it cuts off some portion of the map at the top. I do have the unwrap all in the box. This seems to just happen at random. I had this happen in 3dsmax 2013 on windows 7. I now have windows 8 and 3ds max 2014, but it is still doing it. I am, however, using the save from the former.

I have PS Elements 10 for Mac. I've been trying to figure out why my text is not rendering properly. I type out a word and although caps lock is OFF, the text shows up in all caps. Also, the spacing between letters is wide. I've been trying to search through options, but can't find anything.

3ds Max :: Video Post To Backburner Network Render Hangs

Video Post to Backburner network render hangs on next frame..I use Max’s Video Post to setup my render sequences to submit them to backburner. There are a couple issues with video post but not as bad as the one I have now. Each time I setup a render and submit it to backburner the first frame assigned to each system will render fine but then the servers get hung-up “waiting for frame” and consume ALL of the available RAM. Of course if I don’t do network render, the video post runs without a hitch. That of course defeats the purpose of having a render farm that video post SHOULD be able to use. And also, if I go through the ‘render’ dialog box, and do network rendering, I can get each series of frames done as well but it’s not as clean and orderly as with video post.

Oddly enough, in Max 2009, all of this worked just fine. Ever since they (autodesk) fixed (broke) backburner in 2012 video post has never been the same. Since I am a lowly low budget animator, video post was a bonus in 2009 for having everything in one bundle for mixing and matching multiple views and inputs with overlays for production. It was great! One could set it and forget it overnight and in the AM all that was left was compile the images to sequenced avi. Alas, that has been somewhat limited now in that you can only render the views that are active, so max of 4 views or cameras (if this has changed for others pls let me know). Annoying especially if you forget to have a single camera active and set the render and it then hangs on it… no visual error saying such and such is missing just dumb blank screen (sometimes).

Another oddity, after saving a video post layout, if I open that file on a secondary system for edits, the video post will have blanks for file outputs. I’ll then have to re-point the outputs to be able to use the limited video post functionality. A pain and can deal with it but still, the outputs are all on networked drives (all mapped to same drive letter etc) and ever if I direct it straight through the network they go blank; i.e. \serversharediretoryoutputs

I’m attaching a simple ‘teapot race’ max file that exhibits the same problem of the video post on render fails just in case it’s a file setup issue.Also find below the log file outputs of a system during the aforementioned hanging render sequence. , I was running the debug and the log shows max hanging on the ‘waiting for frame’ then eventually dumps the job, reloads, does 1 frame, then hangs again for 10-15mins.

3ds Max :: Render Settings For Texture Baking

Any good  3d party texture baker. They bake hi-res  things forever and neigther can bake complex procedural shaders and  details with transparency properly.  
 
Is there any 3d party render that could be considered for texture baking?   I tried Vray but it's even slower  in baking. Is there anything other to try? I mean something with a speed of Modo texture baking for example?
 
Looking for uick  render settings for texture baking? Mental rey or scanline. Prerhaps I should degerade or avoid something not tailored for texture  baking. What would be a prefered way for indirect illumination or ambient occlusion? Is there a renderer that would respect edited vertex normals on low poly shells while doing baking?

I am working with Vray and i set the gamma to 2.0, the render works fine, but the Render to Texture seems to be bypassing and neglecting this value set in the Vray/Color Management, and the Gamma LUT settings, and it renders dark textures.

Lightroom :: Loupe View Not Rendering Properly All Time

I have noticed this as an occasional random ongoing problem in Lightroom and just encountered it again in LR 5, running on Win 7 64 on a 30" 2560x1600 monitor.  While the develop view renders properly, the louple view is very soft.  Here is an example:
 
1:1 from Develop

1:1 from loupe

There is no indication that you need to wait for the final rendering and the image never gets sharper.  Zooming in and out does not fix the rendering in loupe view.  Resizing the lightroom window to a smaller size does not work.  Rebuilding 1:1 previews does not work.
 
The only thing that works is to close and reopen Lightroom.  It appears that some flag in the program instructing the loupe rerender sometimes does not get set.
 
This is a serious problem because a user could easily decide to delete an image based on the loupe view.  This has forced me to preview all my images in PhotoMechanic.  I simply cannot rely on Lightroom.
 
This is a difficult problem to reproduce as it seems to happen randomly. In a search and based on recollection, the zoom in and out seemed to fix.

3ds Max :: Background Colour - Render To Texture Error

I've rendered out hundreds of these before in 3DS max 2011 with no issue but in 2012 and 2013 the background colour of my ambient occlusion renders are black instead of being white for all the objects selected except for the first one. What's going wrong?

I set the colour to white in the render to texture window and if I select a single model it works fine but if I select the same model plus others, the first one is saved fine but the others all have a black background. I'm saving them as TGAs which is my preferred option and as I said has been working in 2011.

I saw a max demo at a show where they shattered the wall in a video/photo. The artist baked the background image to three planes (floor and two walls) like shown in the illustration, and then exploded one of these planes. It involved some kind of texture baking, but I didn't catch the whole process.

I have to bake all textures in a 3DSmax / mental ray scene.I'm using "Render to texture" and I have 2 big problems :

1) How can I change the type of image file ? When only one object is selected I can access to "File Name and Type", but when all my scene objects are selected this option is not available. So the baked textures are .tga

2) The baked textures have a gamma value = 1. It's too dark, and I want a 2.2 gamma value.

When I try to programmatically change a texture in a render style of a part (no matter, whether I use an existing render style or create a new one), when I set the texture file name, Inventor throws an exception "Bad argument". In Inventor 2012, it worked. How textures should be set in the new Inventor?

Illustrator :: CS6 - 3D Render / Some Letters Not Rendering (Invalid Object)

I have a strange problem going on for CS6... Where when I created a design, grouped all of them so that they had the same center.. then did a force perspective... Some of the letters didn't render while a wire frame does exist for them.

One friend suggested to make sure all of the points are joined, however when I Ctrl+J them, I get an error that says invalid object... which is most likely because they are joined...

I get an error message reading:- Unable to save drawing Location/file name.dwg, drawing saved to drawing/filename.tmp. What is a .tmp? I can save the files on my computer then move them over but it isn't ideal

Having produced my first video production on VS4 I made several copies on DVD but I have been unable to get any of those DVD copies to play properly on most DVD players. They all behave differently on on Different players, on some players they won't even start, some will start and play part of the way through before playing up. All copies behave differently on different players. I have been able to get most copies to play properly on my computer.

I am unable to use properly CorelDRAW X4 due to measurement issues.I have a simple document I wish to work on with size 20,45cm x 15,40cm

I first create a new empty file (A4). Then I click on the empty working area and select on the toolbar the measure of the area (where I already find 210 cm and 297 cm). I try to change the measure from 210 to 180 (as example) and after I type 180 and press enter the value changes to 1,800 cm and the working area becomes very very big.

I am unable to obtain what I need.I do not understand the behavior of this software and do not know what to do.I tired to delete Corel user profile but nothing has changed.The software has always worked properly. My OS is Windows 7 Pro x64.
