Revit :: IES File Render Error

Jan 11, 2011

I'm trying to utilize Revit ability to link an IES file as a lighting source in a lighting family.  I'm running Revit Architecturer 2009.  The ies files i downloaded from the manufacturer website produce an image inconsistent with what i would expect a light source to provide, instead of the "white" light, i get a red/green/black/blue image. I can link any of the ies files that are provide with Revit, and they work fine.  it's only this Manufacturer provide file that's causing the error.

Revit :: Incorrect Schema Error

Jul 14, 2012

I was working on a file earlier today when it failed while processing after I edited a particularly extensive mass. It asked if I wanted to save a recovery file, I said yes, but I am not sure it worked properly (it might have said 'could not be saved' but i clicked 'OK' quickly so i could re-open revit and get on with work)

Anyways, when I went back to start again it said I had to manually recover the file and that I should ask Autodesk support. I looked on forums and they said i should go to the 'open' dialogue box, check the 'audit' box and reopen the file, but after doing this I got a second error message that said something along the lines of "your file has an incorrect schema'.

This project is not part of any collaboration, it's standalone and on my home PC.I couldn't find any email to write to, or number to call, or FAQ, so here I am.

This is the third damned problem I've had with this file, might have something to do with a trojan on my computer chewing into my RAM but whatever the case it's time this crap stopped!

This morning when I started Revit 2013 and tried to open a file that I was working on last night, I got this error: "encountered an improper argument." The file will not open.

I tried to open a different file, and I get another error saying "An unrecoverable error has occured. The program will now be terminated.... " Revit will close.

I cannot open any files, or get Revit to run. Is my installation corrupt? Do I need to re-install or is it possible to try a repair?

Revit :: Error / Insufficient Memory For Load

Oct 19, 2011

I am having a problem opening some larger revit models (100MB plus) in revit 2012 I will receive a message saying:

Insufficient memory for load. This computer does not have enough memory to open 'file name' in autodesk revit architecture 2012. Increase the available memory or contact Autodesk support for more information.

We are working on Windows XP SP3 with 3.23gb RAM. Now normally it would be as simple as upgrading the RAM on this machine to 4GB as specified in the system requirements for 2012, but a previous computer I was testing with only 2GB RAM was able to open these files without any issues (despite being a little slower).

The only difference I can see at this stage is the 3GB switch is enables in the 2gb machine.

Revit :: Unrecoverable Error When Opening Files?

Revit :: 2013 Will Not Start - 0xc000000tb Error

Dec 10, 2012

When attempting to start Revit Architecture 2013 I get the error message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000007b). Click OK to close the application".

Revit Architecture 2013 has been installed on my computer since it's release in April and I have installed both updates. Until now it has worked fine and I have had no startup issues.

AutoCAD Architecture 2013 also will not start- same error message.

Oddly, Revit Architecture 2012 will start.

I have tried to uninstall Revit Arch 2013 using windows control panel, but it does not respond.

I have run Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft Malacious Software Removal Tool, Malwarebytes, and Super AntiSpyware. So far, the computer looks okay. The only thing questionable was the installation, and immediate uninstall of the iLivid download manager.

Prior to that point, all geometry perofrm as intended when I change the width or height of the window. Once the frame reference planes are added, the height change draws an error message. I've tried individually eliminating the possible causes with no success. What I'm doing incorrectly and specifically the steps necessary to fix it?

Revit :: Error Creating A Void In A Mass

Jan 16, 2013

I am creating a tunnel with a profile consisting of multiple radios. In the attached images can be displayed. The problem I have is that by selecting one of the two tunnels and create a void with the profile of the second tunnel and perform cutting geometry indicates that I can not and I get the error message.

If I perform the same exercise to select a tunnel and create a void with a square profile, rectangular or cylindrical deaja if I make the cut geometry. I select the void that did work and edit it to add the profile you require and at the end of the model throws me the error again.

We are working on four computers of the same features and the same version of Revit Building Design Suite 2013, has installed the update 2.

Revit :: Can't Load Family - Ungroup Error

Jan 29, 2014

I have placed showers within various apartments. These apartments are groups. I have made a change to the family, (realigned a reference plane to be equal between two points). Now I reload the family into the project and no matter what I try, I cannot load it into the project without getting the ungroup error.

Prior to the warning, it states i need to delete a number of dimension references. Which I allow, then the group error appears telling me I still have constraint problems.

I thought it would be fine to dimension to families in groups, but it appears their is the potential for problems.

Revit :: 2013 Will Not Open / Triangle Exclamation Error

Oct 23, 2012

I just updated my computer with the latest and greatest parts and was excited to open Revit 2013 and try it out. I installed it last night and tried to open it. The splash screen appears for a second and then closes. On the first try, a yellow triangle with an exclamation popped up, it hasn't happened since. I fixed the registry with MS fix it, uninstalled it, and reinstalled it.

I read that it was not compatible with hyperthreading 8 core CPUs. I don't think this is the issue, because I do not have a 8 core CPU.  I have a i7 3.5 Quad Core with Hyperthreading, 16 gigs RAM, 1 gig Graphics Card, and a Solid State Drive.
