Revit :: Camera Orthographic / Perspective Toggle?
Dec 5, 2011As far as I can tell, there is no way to switch back and forth between perspective and orthographic projection on an existing camera?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been messign with CC Lightrays in After Effects 5.5 and im using it by adding keyframes to lower and up the intensity back and fourth to make it look like the light is moving. My question is though, How can i get it so that the source of the rays is off screen yet fills the screen with its rays? Because the more you drag the source light off screen, the more it makes a cone chape of light. Also, i wanted to know how i can make the rays coming at me when im facing the camera. I have a shot where im looking at the camera and i want it to look like i'm looking into the light rays and i'm also surrounded by it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to see my model with perspective, or better yet create a rendered view with perspective, but the instructions given within the program not useful, they run: 'Drag the cursor to the desired target and click. Revit Architecture creates a perspective 3D view and assigns a name to the view: 3D View1, 3D View2, and so on. To rename the view, in the Project Browser right-click it, and select Rename.'
Dragging and clicking like that selects an object, as I expected it would, there is no sign of an sort of perspective or saved image file, so what do I really do?
We have a perspective view which we need to resize so that the building takes up the entire sheet for presentation purposes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am doing a building as shown in the attached image. I inserted the file as a link and flipped to make the total building, but in the perspective view are showing these ghost lines that do not let me save a shaded image of the building. I have just updated the graphic driver to the certified by Autodesk.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working with a seris of 3d views that I want o make bigger. How can I do this.
I want to keep the view the same but changed the "scale" of the view/perspective
I'm getting:
"Displacement is ON and set to view-dependent, but the view being rendered is orthographic. View-dependent displacement does not work with orthographic views."
After using ONE orthographic camera in a scene, however I am no longer using that Camera and still receiving the error. What should I do?
As you can in 3ds Max ?
We have a few site photos taken at known locations with known focal length. Can you adjust the focal length of a camera view in Revit ? I've looked everywhere, but can't find any parameters.
It's not the same as simply adjusting the crop size, some of these views are taken at wide angles - and we would like to replicate the parallax / perspective distortion in the render to make it easier to merge the images in Photoshop.
So far - it looks as though we will have to do this in 3ds Max only.
Is it possible to change the direction the camera is looking when making a walkthrough?
For example, is it possible to have the walkthrough move along the side of a building, but have the camera facing the building?Basically, If it was actaully a person walking, they would be walking sideways.
I have a building file with a site linked in. The site file has the retaining wall etc.
In the building file I have created some camera views and when you adjust the eye height the linked wall is distorted. note the correct alignment in perspective-01 and the distortions in *-02 & *-03.
Is there a way to set a precise orthographic view - such as at 45 degrees. I need to render objects and take them into another application to dimension them so a set angle would be very useful.

I'm remaining with the orthographic projects of the object [see image] and the project is due some time next week. I'm having a hard time drawing the orthographic projections.
I use AutoCAD 2009.
I tried to plot a 3D view to pdf but I have strange shadows on the pdf file.
In revit it shows everything correct but on the pdf there happened something wrong.
I read the other articles about putting it to Raster Processing but that doesn't work.
Raster quality is on presentation (highest possible).
I printed with a cute pdf printer.
I am trying to control the height of the camera for a walkthrough so that I can go up stairs. I know that I can activate the "Mini Tour Building Wheel" and can do it that way but it is very clunky to use and I don't always get the right angles. Is there a simple way to control each key frame's heights like you normally would a camera (eye and target elevations)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2D drawing in model space that is set on the front orthographic view. If you change it, using the viewcube, to "top", the drawing appears as a straight line because it is now looking at a top view of the 2D drawing. How can I change it so that the top view will display the whole drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to get orthographic views from a 3d model?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a finished 3D model in AutoCAD (although I did import it from another program), and I want to create the standard orthographic views as easily as possible. This tutorial looked perfect [URL].........
but i ran into some trouble. At step 5, where it says to press Base or use the command VIEWBASE i get a window that will ask me to open up some kind of inventor file. The tutorial does not acknowledge this, but the rest of the instructions and result seem like just what I need!
the first 12 seconds, where he took a 3D model and created 3 other views with just a click.
I know it's a plugin but is there a way for AutoCAD to do this as well? It would make life so much easier for me.
the image above is a piping layout with two 45 degrees elbows. i drew the side view, then the the top view
now one of the 45 degrees elbow is replaced by a 90 degrees elbow. i don't how to draw this because the 90 degrees elbow rotate 45 degrees from the horizon.
As it is possible to import 3D objects in PS... And display it in outline in an orthographic view, I'm wondering how to print this view at scale 1:1 of the model size...
and not the size of the image file defined in pixels. AS a workaround is it possible to export that view in vector format to edit and print in Illustrator or Acrobat.
I am currently attempting to dimension to a spline in an orthographic drawing and running into some issues. I can't seem to find a way to properly dimension rather than making microscopic holes in the piece and that way giving the .idw something to grab on to for dimensioning.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen in Orthographic view and in back, left, right, top, bottom, front view, I cannot draw an object as Cube by example. To be able to make the object I have to move a little bit my view .
Example. If I was in Ortho - Back view, I move the view a bit so it is not perfectly on the back view than it allowed me to draw object. Another way is to change to Perspective view.
why I cannot make object on straight orthographic view?
recently i tried working with the modeling toolkit in maya 2014, and it works great in perspective, but for some reason when im in component mode and I try and make a marquee selection, the marquee does not show up although it does select the component.
After selecting some component and try moving then with the translate handles, it does not move at all, instead it deselect the components.I am able to middle click move components.
So i decided to turn off the modeling toolkit and everything worked fine with the classic manipulators.
I'm currently Building a Library Technology Hub that has 3 story atrium. I'm trying to create a 3d camera view that shows the multiple levels that open to the atrium. However, only the 1st floor and mezanine floor (within 1st floor ceiling heights) are in my 3d view. The rendred view shows as if I have a solid ceiling across the entire 1st floor. I am almost positive that this is an issue with my camera settings since my 2nd and 3rd floors are cut around the atrium opening. I have clicked on almost every option in my properties menu and am at a loss!
Just btw, I'm an intermediate level, self-taught revit user (I have used it on a daily basis for about a year now). I'm no guru, but I'm quite savvy on making things work like I want them to.
I have attached a test render of the space. the "ceiling" should be open above my mezanine, and extend to desk at the right and the lounge seating at the left. However, it has rendered as a single plane.
I am having an issue running AutoCAD LT 2011 on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. If I have orthographic dimensions on the drawing, AutoCAD crashes if I try to move, modify, or delete the dimensions. Recovery does not work. I am stuck with the dimensions once they are placed because if I touch them, the program crashes.
I do not know if this is important but I will include it anyway: this does not happen with older drawings that were created under older versions of AutoCAD LT. It only happens with ortho dimensions created in LT 2011.
I have applied all the latest patches, drivers for the video card, and even tried opening the drawings in 32-bit mode. Nothing seems to work.
My system is a Dell Precision T3500 Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bitIntel Xeon Dual Core 2.53GHz cpu12GB ramNvidia Quadro 4000 running Nvidia driver version 265.70
i ve noticed that when i switch to orthographic view i cannot render the view. i have only black render output. how to make a render in say top view or front?
