Is it possible to change the direction the camera is looking when making a walkthrough?
For example, is it possible to have the walkthrough move along the side of a building, but have the camera facing the building?Basically, If it was actaully a person walking, they would be walking sideways.
I am trying to control the height of the camera for a walkthrough so that I can go up stairs. I know that I can activate the "Mini Tour Building Wheel" and can do it that way but it is very clunky to use and I don't always get the right angles. Is there a simple way to control each key frame's heights like you normally would a camera (eye and target elevations)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit 2012 and I am trying to do a walkthrough down a street. I had 1000 frames and 5 fps because we want it to move really slow... but with 5 fps it is choppy. So I tried adding more frames but when I export it I can an error message when I try to play the file saying "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file".
I am not sure what I am doing wrong.. is there a maximum amount of frames you can use?
I love CC's multicam feature, but keep having this problem:
In Pluraleyes, I would lay all my Cam 1 material on video track 1 (multiple clips), then Cam 2 on video track 2 (multiple clips), add my audio, and create a multicam track that kept all Cam 1 clips on track 1 and all Cam 2 clips on track 2.
in Premiere Pro CC, multicam creation can only be exectued via the browser, not the timeline. So Premiere syncs everything up and throws each clip onto the next video track up, leaving you with a mountain of timeline media that reads out tiny and jumps all over the place when viewed in the multicam monitor (see picture).
What I'm after:
- the ability to create multicam sequences based on the timeline (lay out all clips from each cam on whichever video track I want, select all, then choose "create multicam sequence") so that the end result isn't 20 video tracks I have to manually collapse into 2 (time waster).
I developed a handrail extension that turns down and terminates on top of the stringer and I'm having some trouble controlling the "bend" to get a smooth arc for all angles. Is there away of aligning or constrining the arc in the sweep path to achieve this?

Navigating in max 2012 using walk through mode is not smooth at all, even on a new scene with just a few teapots. It does not update in between and jumps to the end position when i let go of keys. On the same system running max 2009, all is well. Steering wheel is also acting strange. Usual navigation is fine.
Problem exists with both progressive display and realistic mode turned off. The place where i work has computers mainly running on GTX 1GB cards but two of them are on quadro 560 256MB and they too are not much better. HF2 is installed
Im trying to use walkthrough while modeling the inside of a building. I used to just click and hold down on "pan view" until walkthrough would come up. Now It doesnt, I went into customize user interface and assigned the walkthrough a different hot key and moved it into the top bar right beside where "Mirror" is and it still wouldnt work even if I clicked on it. I tried up arrow as well and im not sure hwo to get it to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm relativly new to 3ds and have built a model which I now need to walkthrough and save the file as a video file. I have used the walthrough assistant and created 4000 image (jpeg) files. I have loaded into RAM player and it runs, although only takes 50% of the images in. Each image file is only 236kb and renders at 1024 x614. I try to save the file as an .avi file and the system immediatly crashes with the explanation "Not responding". Machine spec should be fine with 8gig of RAM,Intel Xeon quad 2.66, 64bit win 7 and Nvidia Quadro FX4800
My questions are:
"What is the best way to create a walkthrough as a video file to be shown on wide screen TV's?"
"Is there a maximum amount of memory RAM player can use?"
"Should I use RAM player at all and just save as an AVI?, this has been tried but if I try the full 4000 frames it also crashes and fails to save".

We have a few site photos taken at known locations with known focal length. Can you adjust the focal length of a camera view in Revit ? I've looked everywhere, but can't find any parameters.
It's not the same as simply adjusting the crop size, some of these views are taken at wide angles - and we would like to replicate the parallax / perspective distortion in the render to make it easier to merge the images in Photoshop.
So far - it looks as though we will have to do this in 3ds Max only.
I have a building file with a site linked in. The site file has the retaining wall etc.
In the building file I have created some camera views and when you adjust the eye height the linked wall is distorted. note the correct alignment in perspective-01 and the distortions in *-02 & *-03.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to switch back and forth between perspective and orthographic projection on an existing camera?

In revit it shows everything correct but on the pdf there happened something wrong.
I read the other articles about putting it to Raster Processing but that doesn't work.
Raster quality is on presentation (highest possible).
I printed with a cute pdf printer.
I'm currently Building a Library Technology Hub that has 3 story atrium. I'm trying to create a 3d camera view that shows the multiple levels that open to the atrium. However, only the 1st floor and mezanine floor (within 1st floor ceiling heights) are in my 3d view. The rendred view shows as if I have a solid ceiling across the entire 1st floor. I am almost positive that this is an issue with my camera settings since my 2nd and 3rd floors are cut around the atrium opening. I have clicked on almost every option in my properties menu and am at a loss!
Just btw, I'm an intermediate level, self-taught revit user (I have used it on a daily basis for about a year now). I'm no guru, but I'm quite savvy on making things work like I want them to.
I have attached a test render of the space. the "ceiling" should be open above my mezanine, and extend to desk at the right and the lounge seating at the left. However, it has rendered as a single plane.
Why Camera Views is different from all other views in Revit. It is simple not possible to add a view reference, or a tag etc. to reference to a camera view.
Of course I can put in a 'dead' symbol to show where it is in plans, but that's simply not the same...
I have a model of that I need to save images of from different angles, but they all need to be proportional so they line up. How can I get images that are all proportional from different angles?

For instance, I just the line tool and create a line - it tells me what angle the line is, and I have to move tiny little amounts to try and make the line a certain angle. Another example would be when you paste something and are rotating it, again, you have an angle value, but you just have to kind of eye it and get it close. So is there a way I can adjust these (using a field where I can type in the numbers I want for instance)?
2. I'm creating a line that isn't straight. Over the course of the line it deviates from 0 degrees to 5 degrees. Is there anything that I can use to create tick or hash marks along the line that would be right angles to the line at the portion they are located at?
Is there any way to import the extra angles from a DVD? There is only one box to check for each chapter but the additional angles are listed in the box above the preview window. I thought maybe clicking on them would do something but it didn't. I also tried "Select All" but only the first angle was copied.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm learning how to texture a tyre. I've applied the Unwrap UVW modifier to a torus. Then I've applied Flatten Mapping. After that I've manually rearranged the surfaces as can be seen in the below picture. Now the thing is, my teacher has asked me to apply Relax tool, especially Relax by Face angles. I can't figure it out how to use it.
I've read the Autodesk Document for this but its too technical. Also, how should my uvw mapping look in the end?
I render 36 frames from different angles to PNG files on 3Ds Max 2013 but now I want to hide a model and make it so all the parts its blocking to also become transparent.
If you don't understand what I mean I don't want to simply "hide" the instance because then all the parts in the back that otherwise would be invisible would become visible, I just want those parts to become transparent as if I "subtract" the image of the hidden instance out of the final render image.
Like the 3d model is invisible but erases anything behind it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to bring an element (a building's floor plan) in one drawing into another drawing where it can be joined onto another building and the site plan.
The thing is, the UCS of the destination drawing is different from the first drawings. The Y-Axis in the destination drawing is pointing somewhere beyond the 3 O'clock position while it is still at 12 o'clock in the first drawing.
How do I determine the exact angle of the rotated UCS in order to insert the element at the right angle?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this block. It's called Linear Stock. In this block, there are 2 visibility states. The one that I'm looking at currently is called Stretch with Angled Ends.
What I'd like to have happen is for the angles created when I stretch each grip to the proper location to be readable by a table or excel document. I know that I need a parameter for this to happen, but I'm not sure how to make it happen.
