How to get single day lighting working in a walkthrough? I've tried just setting the lighting to that but it won't render as a proper walkthrough animation (just saves as a 1 second thing). Everything was fixed when I turned the lighting back to a fixed time though.
Is it possible to change the direction the camera is looking when making a walkthrough?
For example, is it possible to have the walkthrough move along the side of a building, but have the camera facing the building?Basically, If it was actaully a person walking, they would be walking sideways.
Everytime when I try to export a view or walkthrough in revit 2013, I get a blank image or avi. I do nothing specia. I just use the standard settings that revit has, the same way I did in revit 2012, where it works.
I am using Revit 2012 and I am trying to do a walkthrough down a street. I had 1000 frames and 5 fps because we want it to move really slow... but with 5 fps it is choppy. So I tried adding more frames but when I export it I can an error message when I try to play the file saying "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file".
I am not sure what I am doing wrong.. is there a maximum amount of frames you can use?
I am trying to control the height of the camera for a walkthrough so that I can go up stairs. I know that I can activate the "Mini Tour Building Wheel" and can do it that way but it is very clunky to use and I don't always get the right angles. Is there a simple way to control each key frame's heights like you normally would a camera (eye and target elevations)?
I have user that placed some lights on a model and now he can't select groups of lights using crossing. He can select them indivigually. We are using linked models arch, mech, elec ect.. The light he is placing was downloaded off a vendors site, when he placed a revit OTB family he can select it using crossing fine. We are using revit 2011.
Am just starting to explore Revit and was trying to add some lights to my building to play with some renders. When I try and load anything from within the 'lighting fixtures' however, I am met with the message:
"There is no tag loaded for lighting fixtures, do you want to load one now?"
I have explored a number of other family types, walls, doors, windows, kitchen and bathroom etc and never had this message/error occur.
I would like to be able to add a single revision to all sheets at once. For example when doing a major issue of all sheets for building approval. In this case I don't use revision clouds but use the "Revisions on Sheet" function in the properties for the individual sheet. Hence the problem, having to individually select every sheet one by one and add the revision to each sheet. Is there a way to multiple select all or some sheets and just do it once? I've tried doing this through a schedule but that doesn't let you select and change a revision either. Is there an add-in that could do this perhaps?
Navigating in max 2012 using walk through mode is not smooth at all, even on a new scene with just a few teapots. It does not update in between and jumps to the end position when i let go of keys. On the same system running max 2009, all is well. Steering wheel is also acting strange. Usual navigation is fine.
Problem exists with both progressive display and realistic mode turned off. The place where i work has computers mainly running on GTX 1GB cards but two of them are on quadro 560 256MB and they too are not much better. HF2 is installed
Im trying to use walkthrough while modeling the inside of a building. I used to just click and hold down on "pan view" until walkthrough would come up. Now It doesnt, I went into customize user interface and assigned the walkthrough a different hot key and moved it into the top bar right beside where "Mirror" is and it still wouldnt work even if I clicked on it. I tried up arrow as well and im not sure hwo to get it to work.
when I activate walkthrough mode it's stuck in vertical rotation. ie I can only look up and down and not left or right. it only gives a keyboard shortcut which doesn nothing. How to revert this back to normal?
Our model uses several material types for insulation, mostly rigid variations at this point. The various materials are used in floor, wall and roof systems. Is there a way to create a single schedule that would list insulation quantities across all three system types?
I'm relativly new to 3ds and have built a model which I now need to walkthrough and save the file as a video file. I have used the walthrough assistant and created 4000 image (jpeg) files. I have loaded into RAM player and it runs, although only takes 50% of the images in. Each image file is only 236kb and renders at 1024 x614. I try to save the file as an .avi file and the system immediatly crashes with the explanation "Not responding". Machine spec should be fine with 8gig of RAM,Intel Xeon quad 2.66, 64bit win 7 and Nvidia Quadro FX4800
My questions are: "What is the best way to create a walkthrough as a video file to be shown on wide screen TV's?" "Is there a maximum amount of memory RAM player can use?" "Should I use RAM player at all and just save as an AVI?, this has been tried but if I try the full 4000 frames it also crashes and fails to save".
steps to create a single deployment package for the Autodesk software suites?
My company is on subscription and can download all of the individual software packages, but there are not any instructions for creating a single deployment package for a suite like AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite that includes both Revit & AutoCAD and several other things.
I'm trying to use the sample script for single network license located at - Script
The script says it's for AutoCad even though it's located under the Revit section of the Wiki. How I can modify this to work with Revit? Something like substitue "acad" with "revit," maybe?
I am currently working on a home where i need to have a single slanted roof go across the perimeter of the home to form a roof. But, i have run into the issue of not being able to connect the circled area(see attached) Is it possible to connect those separate roofs and if so how?
I would like to know how to change the colour of a single layered, single coloured gradient (foreground to transparent) image. There is nothing more to it than that other than I don't want to use the hue/saturation adjustment as it's hard to get a specific colour.
I've got a picture of a sunset for a background and i'm trying to place a picture of a girl in the foreground so i need to light her from behind and Render>lighting has nothing i can use. does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this correctly?
I am trying to figure out how to use volume lighting. I am using a free spot and have added volume lighting but every time I render, I just get a dark shadow coming from the light. The surface it is aimed at lights up, but what would be the 'fog' area just projects as a shadow with hard edges in the shape of a beam of light. I've spent hours trying different settings and can't figure it out.
We have no lighting effects in the SDK so we've been looking at work around for how to introduce them. Our game takes places on various planets in the solar system. It will be viewed from the top down so the player will be able to see terrain and structures.
The game is going to be compiled mostly using 2D map art and 3D animated models imported as sprite sheets.Because there are no lighting effects we are adding them to the models using the modelling software. All of game maps are being built with a white light. We are instead looking to add a block image canvas with the colour set to that which matches the planet it is set. With the opacity reduced to 25-35% it then gives the map and models the correct light ambience. Before our developer started testing this out in the SDK I used photoshop to come up with the solution. I found that we got the best results when setting the canvas block colour layer to 'soft light'. The only problem is when I export the canvas on its own and send it to our developer it seems to lose the soft light effect.
My question is, is there a way to export the soft light effect? Simply using normal mode and changing the opacity doesn't make the light ambiance look as natural. If you scroll down on the link below you will see two images of the same location. One with the soft light and effect and one with out. URL....
I'm working on a mac and I'm a newcomer to the 3D features in CS6
I have taken a flat pattern design and created a cylinder from the mesh preset dropdown. Screenshot attached of the rasterized 3d layer.
I have the angle and scale I want, but I'd like to remove all shadowing. Is there a way of turning lighting off completely and retaining the colours of the original flat pattern design?
Lighting Effects are missing from my CS5 Program. I go to Filters/Render/and "Lighting Effects" is not there. Not even in Gray. I have a copy of CS3 on my computer and the Light Effects show up in that Program.
I'm having trouble getting my 3D lighting to look, well, believable in PS CS5 Ex. I've moved them around, tried different types of lights, and nothing seems to give me proper shadow contrast and glare and shine on my material. Here is a screen of a dining room setting I'm building (preliminary stage) by combining 2D and 3D elements.
The corner hutch on the right is the 3D piece and the two on the left are 2D. The walls, ceiling and floor are also all 3D as well.
