I would like to know how to change the colour of a single layered, single coloured gradient (foreground to transparent) image. There is nothing more to it than that other than I don't want to use the hue/saturation adjustment as it's hard to get a specific colour.

A technique I use often in my ui work is to combine a texture with a gradient that fades the gradients color and the pattern to transparent.
In Fireworks, this can be done on a single layer with no mask. The transparency of the gradient affects the pattern.
This is not the case in Photoshop. I am wondering how I can accomplish the same thing in Photoshop, while keeping everything vector.
I'm trying to erase all of a single colour from an image. I use the colour range select to choose the colour (orange) however when I erase, it seems to erase an underlay underneath colours (esp yellow) in unselected areas.
How can I stop this?
I'm in thumbnail view (desktop) and i want to create a single coloured frame (right click and select new/colour source). i want to choose color by picking up from a clip in my desktop. The problem that as soon as i choose 'colour source', for whatever reason.... the background (desktop) become darker, so whatever i pick from background will be invalid color.

Specifically, the URL by default is like this: [URL] ....
and I would like it to be like this: [URL] ....
I assume there is some way to make this change using the template editors, but I can't figure it out.
Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide,desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.
i have 2 square shapes on my artborad. each square shape has its own gradient fill. i would like to merge these 2 shapes to form a single shape. not a groupe of shapes, but a single, flattened (compounded?) object.
the gradient of the first square includes a zero-alpha. the second image is the two shapes simply layered, but i want to basically flatten them together to form one shape.
what steps are involved in merging these shapes to form one shape so that their gradients are unaffected by merging with the other?
I have a few thousand files that I need to process into colour swatches for a web site. The process entails locating a suitable area of each image, cropping that area to 25 pixels square, and saving the result. Obviously, I need to be able to do this as quickly as possible; ideally with just a single click for each image, and so I'd like to set up a script in order to batch-process the images. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that a suitable position on one image is going to be at all suitable for another, so a limited amount of interactivity is required.
Is it possible to set up an interactive batch task, or would some other approach be required?
I am trying to rotate and translate some points I imported in LD04. When I go to points-->edit points--> rotate points it asks me:
"autodesk point database setup must be in single-user mode to use command" How do I change to single mode? since I'm the only one using this computer at home.
I'm desiging a banner for a website and a big concern of mine is that the sidebar should fade into the black default background of the website.
It's a single layer, the image is 32 x 346 pixels and I'd like to know how to blend the bottom quarter or so of the multicolor sidebar to the default black.
I change viewport layout to quad from single and it will not save. I saved a new maxstart file and have followed all directions find in Max books.Nothing seems to work. I save and turn program back on and layout is back to single.

However, the images that are already on the template are not the same size as the photographs that I am wanting to put on it. The template image size listed is as follows: Pixel Dimensions are W939xH373; Document Size W13.042xH5.181; Resolution is 72. The photos that I want to use are normal size from the camera. My question is this: Is there a way to convert the size of the image into what is needed without the photo being distorted and look elongated? I am using Photoshop CS3.

I know there is the replace color adjustment, but this replaces a single color e.g. 190,190,190 with another color e.g. 200, 200, 200. I would like to replace a range of colors e.g. from 185 to 195 with 200, 200, 200.
Recently when I upload photographs in Photoshop Elements 8, the images in the catalogue appear as an hourglass when viewed as multiple images, but when I zoom in to a single catalogue image the picture appears. Previous images in the cataloge appear as normal.

and i need the background area behind the soldiers to span across the whole canvas, creating a gradient and adding the smoke in will take ages and it probably wont look as good as hoped. my clone brush tool doesn't work because of a thing ubuntu has with the alt key, it stops me defining a source point the healing brush gets nowhere but where the Pixels are already not beyond.
I'm currently contemplating grabbing the end witht the select, duplicating it and blurring it, whether or not it looks daft is another matter.
I've downloaded an EPS from Shutterstock with a series of icons that look like buttons and would like to change the colour breakdown, but keep the shading/ button 'look'. When I try to select a different colour breakdown of blue it turns grey and solid.

The problem is every time I do this the image loses its sharpness (using magic wand, highlighting the area and filling a gradient and other similar techniques)
I'm modeling a temperature gauge and would like to have glass over the gauge so the inside is visible. I can easily do this with an assembly, but I'm wanting to do this with a single part. I tried to derive a new part from the assembly, but the transparent part turns solid so nothing inside is visible. Is it possible to do this?

Is there a plug in similar to photoshop that allows for a full cut out of a single item in a image?
If not is there a thread that shows a simple process to do so?
How do I know which collectios my single image is in? Is it in one collection? Is it ten colelctions? How can i find out? If I click a single image, it doesnt highlight all the possible locations the image resides in. Am I missing something?

That said, using LR5.2 I'm unable to import, even a single image. I'vre tried rebooting LR, rebooting the external HD, rebooting the computer. Nothing works.

Now I don't want them to be multiple lines any more.
How can I change them to single line attribute?
In the block editor, the "Multiple lines" in the properties palette is gray out. I have create single line attribute and replace the multiple line attributes one by one.
Why don't make the Multiple lines property editable? This problem is since Multiple line attribute first time introduced.
Interesting thing is single line attributes can easily changed to multiple line attributes through the properties palette!
