steps to create a single deployment package for the Autodesk software suites?
My company is on subscription and can download all of the individual software packages, but there are not any instructions for creating a single deployment package for a suite like AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite that includes both Revit & AutoCAD and several other things.
Is it possible to build a deployment package that prompts for the serial and product key when it's being installed? We have about 90 or so Engineers, our company refuses to pay for a network license and wants the pacakge deployed out through SCCM. But because of the way our company is set up we've got about 70 keys (some are multi activation. I could just build a package for the Standard and Premium suits and just prompt for the serial during installation.

The problem that as soon as i choose 'colour source', for whatever reason.... the background (desktop) become darker, so whatever i pick from background will be invalid color.

In the “Create & modify a deployment” I am not able to add in multiple Printer Configuration Search Paths or multiple Plot Style Table Search Paths. This feature is available inside of Autocad but not in the deployment. Why?
I would also like to include a profile in a deployment package. Is there a way to do that other than include it as a switch in a customized shortcut (which is a crappy way).
we have purchae network license of AutoCAD 2012. we have a server 64bit or client machines 32bit
my question is that can i create deployment with 32bit option on 64bit machine . because our server is 64bit
I'm creating a deployment for AutoCAD 2014.
At the end of the deploy process I'd like to end up with a custom AutoCAD shortcut on the desktop that calls an ARG file. This is no problem.
The problem is that to get that shortcut I need to check the "create desktop shortcut" check box and then I wind up with 2 shortcuts on the desktop, the default "AutoCAD 2014 - English" and my custom shortcut.
I been trying to make a deployment of Autodesk Building Design Suite Premiun 2012 from
a pc with XP 32 Bit, XP 64 Bit, and Windows 7 64 Bit and the aplicaciton stars well but then after a couple minutes. I got this error.

Now there AutoCAD2014 which introduced some variables that affect proper operation completely automatic: TRUSTEDPATHS and SECURELOAD.
Is there a way to add search paths, modify variables, load menu, set the automatic start of a *.Lsp or *.Fas, during installation of the application, without opening AutoCAD?
Our company is currently looking at a large upgrade from AC LT to Product design suite and Building design suite. My question is, will the following setup support it? If not, what's needed? We're at a crossroads and need to capitalize on the current software sales.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a single frame clip in my library, i want to put this clip into my timeline and i want it to be 10 seconds. I can just easily in/out in timeline and 'overwrite'. i don't like where i'm repeating a single frame and then still need to render it as 10 seconds clip.
This should be done like 'repeat' in the desktop tools. So in timeline when doing 'overwrite' , Smoke has to be smart to detect 1 frame edit so it just need to 'repeat' it not to 'timewarp' it.
And the another BAD thing , i can't have 'repeat' tool inside cfx . why ? so have to repeat the clip outside the cfx and go back into cfx.
I searched through all the key short cuts, looked through the user guide and I'm at a loss where you can nudge a clip back and forth by single frames. I saw you can hold 'D" and SLIP the clips one frame at a time, but not move them outright.
So, since nudging is one of the absolute most basic requirements of any editor, I know it's in there. But alas, they hid it too well. here it might be?
Maybe hiding next to a trim mode I don't see where I can see how my slips and slides affect the area around the clip?
How to bypass/disable multiple nodes without have to do it one by one ?
The other strange thing is when i think i can do it by define a new hotkey for disable/enable the bypass button, i found that everytime i change a hotkey for the bypass button, it will apply only to current node. So do i have to set hotkey for every single node ?? and of course everytime i create new cfx , the hotkey will be reset.
Is it possible to render timeline effects in the background on a single machine given the right licenses? I'm finding that CFX in particular take a lot of time to render.
Is there anyway to speed things up? Do multiple graphics cards work? I have a Quadro 4000 and some kind of ATi card installed (in a mac pro) - does it make a difference which one the monitor is plugged into?
I've built a project up with several smaller project file components. It's an easier way to create a video than editing one big project.
Opening the overall project and running it on screen is not a problem. However, when I try to create a smart package of the composite project, I get a consistent error message rejecting the process because of the existence of the component vsp's.
Is there a way to avoid the error and create a smart package from a project file that has smaller component project files?
I'm using fcp hotkey , by default the 'drag copy (single frame)' is mapped to ' alt-c' . Normally this will work fine. But in some case where a cfx clip is selected or my time indicator is parked on top of a cfx clip in active timeline , then do 'alt-c' will give an error message "connectfx cannot be modified inside the containers. Proceed with edit ? "
So to solve this temporarily, i have to first deselect the cfx clip or move the current positioner on top of a non-cfx clip.
Part of my daily workflow is to export a single frame of my edit for client approvals. In the export menu, is there a way to NOT have Smoke add the zeros to the end of the file name?
Also, what's the best (fastest) way to export a single frame? The way I'm doing it now is that I'm copying a segment to the the desktop then going into tools then using the repeat function. is there a better way?
I would like to be able to add a single revision to all sheets at once. For example when doing a major issue of all sheets for building approval. In this case I don't use revision clouds but use the "Revisions on Sheet" function in the properties for the individual sheet. Hence the problem, having to individually select every sheet one by one and add the revision to each sheet. Is there a way to multiple select all or some sheets and just do it once? I've tried doing this through a schedule but that doesn't let you select and change a revision either. Is there an add-in that could do this perhaps?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAm using Photoshop CS5.1, Simply want to create a single picture (file) that has a "built-in" mat around it. Seems like all that's needed is a box in background (color it as a mat), then put the picture on top.
Problem is, when I go to size (or crop) the picture, it changes the size of the mat and Canvas Size. "Really" want the Canvas Size to STAY 16in x 20in, just makes it easier so can SEE and adjust (move, crop, slide arund) the picture to be 13in x 17in in the center or whereever. After all done, will save as jpg, so can view/print easily.
I have 256 images that are all set out as a testure and need to combine them all into a single image. Each image is 256x256 so the final image will be 65536x65536 is there any possible way I can combine all images without placing each one manually?

I'm using the publish command to create a set of single-sheet Dwf files. After running publish the dot in my file names have been converted to the undercarage symbol.
example: (1111 - E1.0 sheet name - job number.dwf) this is converted to (1111 - E1_0 sheet name - job number.dwf)
If I do a manual dwf plot, file name does not change.
I have 20 pieces of geometry that when assembled create a single object. In my layers window, it shows all 20 pieces under a single layer. When i attach all object so create a single object, all the layers "sub-layers" stay intact.
I have never noticed this before, but would have assumed that the layer would have been consolidated to reflect the singular object in my viewport. Is Max acting the way it should?

Autocad2008 has the Break, Break at Point, and Dimension Break tools. There may be other variations of the break command, but I'm not able to fined a way to quickly use any of these commands to create a very simple single break point on a single segmented line at an unequal segment. I'm surprised Break at Point doesn't fit the billet.
Example:
I've drawn vertical line 10 units long. I would like to place a single break point at 7.956 units from either endpointe of that very same line. This is not a polyline. When selected it is depicted as a line with two equal segments.
The purpose of the break is so that I can intersect a horizontal line at 7.956 units located on the vertical line.
It seems to me that with all of the break tools available, one of them should be able to accomplish this simple task on the fly. Even most basic CAD programs such as Draft It, has a break tool that performs this function easily and quickly with one mouse click and one single text box entry.
Also, the fastest way I have found to accomplish this task is to simply draw another vertical line 7.956 units over the original vertical line, and that allows me to attach my horizontal line at 0 or 180 degrees from the vertical 7.956 units. I then go back and delete the second vertical line.
I have tried to create deployments on the network for my products but I keep getting a "copy function fails" error once I start it.
When you first start to make a deployment it asks for a Administrative image path which I have been point at a network location (\serverpath, etc).
I did make sure that the path length was less than 73 characters (due to a previous error).
It was suggested that I make the deployment on the local machine and then move it to the network location?
However, it does not appear that you allowed to pick a local directory for this (see attached).
I have some stand alone AutoCAD installations, and I want to know if is posible to hide the SN. I know that when I create a deployment I can select the silent mode to hide this, but I have many SN and i dont want to uninstall the software.
