when I activate walkthrough mode it's stuck in vertical rotation. ie I can only look up and down and not left or right. it only gives a keyboard shortcut which doesn nothing. How to revert this back to normal?
View 1 RepliesNavigating in max 2012 using walk through mode is not smooth at all, even on a new scene with just a few teapots. It does not update in between and jumps to the end position when i let go of keys. On the same system running max 2009, all is well. Steering wheel is also acting strange. Usual navigation is fine.
Problem exists with both progressive display and realistic mode turned off. The place where i work has computers mainly running on GTX 1GB cards but two of them are on quadro 560 256MB and they too are not much better. HF2 is installed
Occasionally my PS gets stuck in Move Mode. Only the hand icon appears in the picture I'm attempting to edit. If I select another tool via the tool bar, or short cut, the tool bar on the top line changes appropriately, but the tool icon in the window remains the hand (move tool). The only way I have found to resolve is close PS and re-boot the PC.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a multi layer psd and when I try to select a layer object and copy it, the copy function is greyed out and the only thing I can do is paste.
If I let it have its way, it pastes in a previous copy. After pasting, I try to copy again, but the paste function is the only one active. I can not get PS CS3 to let me do a copy.
My Illustrator CS2 is stuck in Outline mode, no mater how many times I press CTRL Y.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI try to copy other textures and it still shows up. A few times I've been able to get a new texture, but for some strange reason it shows back up again. I don't even know where it comes from. I'm on a MAC and the I keep my textures in a few files on my desktop. It is not in any of the files I have.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am looking for a command that will let me take a scan of something and say "make vertical" and have PS prompt me for two pickpoints with the second pickpoint being directly above (i.e. vertical) the other. alternatively i would like to have a way to "make horizontal" and pick two points that i want oriented in a horizontal line to each other.
right now the way i do this is to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise by 90 degrees, then rotate by some arbitrary amount like 3 degrees, and then to do a series of 0.25 degree rotations - as i check by running a rectangular border top to bottom (or right to left) against something in the image until it is almost correctly oriented.
I am in the process of doing an animation for a PPT presentation. I have several series of images like the one attached which represents a card with some holes in it flat (if you like) on the desktop. I'd like to rotate the image 30 degrees about its vertical axis giving the (isometric) impression that it faces to the right (or left). Is there a functionality in Paint.NET which can achieve this?

I get the resizer double-headed arrow but the edge won't move. I don't know what to do. It's entirely unusable in single window mode now, which is what I usually use.

When i try to draw an XLINE sometimes the command will get locked into either horizontal or vertical mode, without me choosing that option. seems to based on the OSNAP pickpoint i grab maybe.

i run XLINE, pick endpoint and bam, its locked into horizontal mode, very annoying if im trying to make a vertical and horizontal line based off the same point.
Is it possible to change the direction the camera is looking when making a walkthrough?
For example, is it possible to have the walkthrough move along the side of a building, but have the camera facing the building?Basically, If it was actaully a person walking, they would be walking sideways.
How to get single day lighting working in a walkthrough? I've tried just setting the lighting to that but it won't render as a proper walkthrough animation (just saves as a 1 second thing). Everything was fixed when I turned the lighting back to a fixed time though.

Now It doesnt, I went into customize user interface and assigned the walkthrough a different hot key and moved it into the top bar right beside where "Mirror" is and it still wouldnt work even if I clicked on it. I tried up arrow as well and im not sure hwo to get it to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen setting up a simple FK control curve on say the wrist for example, many times the control curve isn't exactly perpendicular to the local rotation axis of the joint movement, so when we position the control curve to be perpendicular to the joint - it has a rotational value added, but the rotational handles are lines up with the rotational handles of the joint that we want to move.
Freeze Transformations: then the control curves rotational handle go back to being skewed (out of alignment with the joints)
We want to Freeze transformations before constraining the curve, but we'd really to keep those rotations control handles to remain aligned with the joints rotational handles. This will make it an exact control when animating - grab the rotational handle of the curve, rotate it, and the joint will move exactly in the proper direction.

I am making a template file having title block with fields. I use this template for creating layouts and sheets using Sheet Set Manager and the fields will be updated from the data of SSM. Now i would like to add a dynamic north block to my template. The block could be rotated (i have this block in file itself) and rotation angle could be inserted. Now how can i add a custom field to SSM so that i could set a rotation angle for the project and thus every new layout or sheet created using the template has the north block rotated with the angle mentioned in SSM.

To summarize: It seems that compounding a path resets the rotation of the gradient to it's original degree of rotation.
Detailed version:
1. Create a shape.
2. Add a gradient fill. Note it's degree of rotation. Let's say it's set at 10°.
3. Now rotate the shape by any means (transform or rotate tool). Note the gradient degree of rotation has shifted the same amount as the shape was rotated (if it was rotated 50°, the gradient will show at 60°).
4. Make it a compound path.
5. Instantly the gradient shifts back to it's original degree of rotation of 10°.
It appears that when rotating a shape with a gradient, the rotation of the gradient is locked to the rotation of the shape. But when making it a compound shape it releases that lock and "remembers" it's original state. But that is only true as soon as you make it a compound path, but if you no go ahead and rotate it just a bit using the cursor (as opposed to selecting transform > rotate), the gradient will switch back to how you would expect it to rotate in the first place...
Workaround would be to make it a compound path before rotating the shape at all.
I am using Revit 2012 and I am trying to do a walkthrough down a street. I had 1000 frames and 5 fps because we want it to move really slow... but with 5 fps it is choppy. So I tried adding more frames but when I export it I can an error message when I try to play the file saying "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file".
I am not sure what I am doing wrong.. is there a maximum amount of frames you can use?
I want to rotate a drawing in my paper space, but without rotating it in model space. So that I still can work on it easily in model space.

I know that I can activate the "Mini Tour Building Wheel" and can do it that way but it is very clunky to use and I don't always get the right angles. Is there a simple way to control each key frame's heights like you normally would a camera (eye and target elevations)?

I have used the walthrough assistant and created 4000 image (jpeg) files. I have loaded into RAM player and it runs, although only takes 50% of the images in. Each image file is only 236kb and renders at 1024 x614. I try to save the file as an .avi file and the system immediatly crashes with the explanation "Not responding". Machine spec should be fine with 8gig of RAM,Intel Xeon quad 2.66, 64bit win 7 and Nvidia Quadro FX4800
My questions are:
"What is the best way to create a walkthrough as a video file to be shown on wide screen TV's?"
"Is there a maximum amount of memory RAM player can use?"
"Should I use RAM player at all and just save as an AVI?, this has been tried but if I try the full 4000 frames it also crashes and fails to save".
I have a North Arrow that I would love to make into a dynamic block. I would like to be able to rotate the N that represents where the north direction is. But while rotating the N around the center of a circle I would like the letter itself to stay un-rotated. It seems simple, if I rotate the letter around the axis of a circle 90 deg, I would like the letter itself to rotate -90 deg on it's own axis. Of course this is easy to do manualy, but how do i do it so that rotation 1 automaticaly triggers rotation 2?

Can I change the Elements 8 format to work in a vertical format to accommodate the larger size possible with a vertical image. It is difficult to manipulate the functions in Elements when the mouse is working in a horizontal mode and you are viewing a large image in a vertical format. If the format of the Elements 8 software can be changes to vertical, any protocol (directions) to accomplish this?

I am noticing that when I expand the shape (in this case a perfect cube), the vertical paths are not exactly perfect, and are not truly vertical, but off slightly. I got too smart for myself today in bringing an old drawing up to current standards...Everyone seems to want their block attributes to be zero - I have blocks where the attributes are best when they match the rotations of each blocks.
I have an old drawing that was rotated (as it should be) at approx 2deg.
I used a lisp routine to global edit all the blocks that needed to be at zero. BUT for some reason (and after hundreds of blocks were corrected), I noticed I now have two blocks that should NOT have been in the set have had their attributes rotated to zero....and the attributes should be at the same rotation as their block's rotation.
Because those two blocks have a fixed tic mark, I can click on the mark to see what the block rotation is, then rotate its attribute to that rotation, but I have hundreds of blocks! One-at-a-time sucks....
Any chance there is a GLOBAL way to edit an attribute rotation to match its own block's rotation?
I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.

I'm using OS 10.6.8 and the latest Epson drivers for the 3880. I have re-installed both PS and the Epson drivers. If I print from Acrobat Reader everything seems to work fine, this only is happening in Photoshop CS5.
