I am working with a seris of 3d views that I want o make bigger. How can I do this.
I want to keep the view the same but changed the "scale" of the view/perspective
I want to see my model with perspective, or better yet create a rendered view with perspective, but the instructions given within the program not useful, they run: 'Drag the cursor to the desired target and click. Revit Architecture creates a perspective 3D view and assigns a name to the view: 3D View1, 3D View2, and so on. To rename the view, in the Project Browser right-click it, and select Rename.'
Dragging and clicking like that selects an object, as I expected it would, there is no sign of an sort of perspective or saved image file, so what do I really do?
We have a perspective view which we need to resize so that the building takes up the entire sheet for presentation purposes.

I inserted the file as a link and flipped to make the total building, but in the perspective view are showing these ghost lines that do not let me save a shaded image of the building. I have just updated the graphic driver to the certified by Autodesk.

leaving the isolate mode in a camera view (3dsmax-camera or vrayphysical-camera) changes the view from cameraview to perspective view. Am I missing any new setting or ist this a bug...

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working on 3d model of interior and I have two problems. I am trying to made similar model as it is on the first image.
After setting all render properties and turning on sky and illuminations my view on object switch from isometric to perspective view.
Is there any way to change it to isometric view so the point of view do not change position at the time of changing, because I find out the way to return it to isometric but then the point of view that was placed inside of room is moved outside and I can't render object that was inside.
Also I can't set white background as it is on the first image. Second image is my attempt that is made inside of the room.

I am doing a generic annotation with several rows of text, but I need to read the view scale in the project to set the spacing between the rows of text. My idea is to create a parameter that will be multiplied by the scale factor in the view.

Is there a way to have a label return a half size automatically in an effort to have only one view title. Otherwise our current work around is to make each view title for each scale and create a viewport for each scale in our template. I have heard that the labels are hardcoded and cannot be changed.
Is it possible to print a view or part of a view to scale for collaboration without first putting the view on a sheet? Thinking about preliminaries, when working with students. Its easy, in autocad, to print anything to scale regardless of whether views are on sheets. Is there a similar capability in Revit? All I can find is zoom scale.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi already know how to change the viewport scaling from 1:1, to 1:10, to 1:20, and so on but my real issue is someone before me change the view scale from 1:1 to 1:.808XXXXX. when i print my figures from the layout everything that is not in the viewport ( like my scale bar) come out shorter that it is on the the screen in paper space. Ive tried to change it back to 1:1 but it wont accept it and keeps the .808XXX value.

I typically work in meters and do subdivision layout so I use 1:500 up to 1:5,000 but now even though the view ports are unlocked the number will not change when I type it in but I can zoom in and out with my mouse.
I can pick a scale in viewport scale like 1:5 1:1 but prefer to type in my scale as I like to plot it.
I use: oView.scale=oView.scale/2 to half each view scale. It works for base view, projected views like bottom view and left view, but it doesn't work for Isometric view. Which property should I use for Isometric view?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have our first project in Revit that we are having to split among multiple sheets because of the size of the building, so I have made 3 dependent views from the main overall view, named them, cropped them and placed each part (A,B, and C) on separate sheets. Now that I am trying to do enlarged toilet plan views, I want to tag the plans with the plan callouts on the 1/8” sheets that are the dependent views, but all the view tags are referencing dependent view A since it is the first dependent view in the list. If I change sheet A to be named Sheet X for instance, all the view tags now reference sheet B since that becomes the first dependent view alphabetically. I want them to reference the sheet they appear in, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do that, even though they are in different dependent views completely and within the crop region, they all default to the first dependent view in alphabetical order.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 3D view and when I turn on the clip boundary everything disappears, which leads me to believe that the clip boundary is off to the side somewhere. I zoom out & out, but can't find it.
Is there a way of resetting it? I could just make a new view, but I'd have to set the perspective again.
In this view I have hidden all the objects except for the one (a book case) that is being detailed. Every time I model something new it shows up in this view. Is there anyway of stopping new objects showing in a given view?
Why Camera Views is different from all other views in Revit. It is simple not possible to add a view reference, or a tag etc. to reference to a camera view.
Of course I can put in a 'dead' symbol to show where it is in plans, but that's simply not the same...
The loupe view on the second screen used to display information about the photo. I double clicked on it and it disappeared and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it back.
On the primary screen this can be added/removed or changed in Library Module by selecting the menu view->view options... which gets you to a settings window where you can set what shows. However, I cannot seem to find a similar thing for the second monitor.

I have a sheet with views on it. For some reason I can't select one of the views. I can't activate it. And the view title is gone. I can go to the browser and find it under the sheet and then go to open.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving been on Revit for more than 8 years there's nothing more difficult to explain to a new user than how the View Range functions. It's one of the first features one must deal with with Revit and yet it can yield illogical results without proper use. The #1 youtube video on Revit's View Range is 20 MINUTES long! Here's my top reasons why View Range is illogical:
1. It does not behave like the "view range" of all other Revit view types. Sections, Elevations, 3d views are all based on a simple concept, a direction, and a 3 dimensional bounding box. With floor plans, elements can appear (or not appear) in a floor plan that is clearly cut so that they shouldn't if the user doesn't understand the rules (and there are lots).
2. It has "Additional View Range Rules" (or exceptions to logic), 7 in fact, which takes Revit Wiki over a page to describe. Each rule is complicated and very situational. No other Revit view types have exceptions. Why floor plans need to have special exceptions is absurd and political. These exceptions must also slow down regeration time of the model since it must process different groups of elements individually to determine their view state in the floor plan.
3. Modern architecture does not adhere to simple boxy shapes and user's need to trust that their view range is actually cutting the surface as they see it. No exceptions or special rules.
4. View Range has a Top and a Cutting Plane elevation. It is completely illogical for any element to appear above the cutting plane. This can easily lead to misinterpretation of 2d drawings because some elements may not appear in section even though they are above the cutting plane. Views should have a cutting plane, direction (up or down in this case) and a depth. Simple, just like all other Revit views.
5. The View Depth "range" is rarely used effectively. The only practical use is to show low roofs of buildings with higher roofs, or possibly foundation elements. Scope boxes or Underlays can accomplish this task much simpler. All the additional line-styles that accompany View Depths are just unnecessary and add more things for the user to manage. It's time to kill View Depth.
It's in Autodesk's best interest to make Revit a user-friendly application. This is one area that needs attention. Keep Revit easy to use without having to watch a 20 minute video.
When I'm working in PS CS and open a folder of pictures it always reverts to List view even though I exited last time in Thumbnail view. How can I set it to open in Thumbnail view by default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem in some of our views (mostly dependent views), Central file.We place normal annotation text (not littera) and everything looks fine.
Then it happens, random can take days, and noone tuch the views nor the text style, that the text duplicate itself up to 1-4 times, and also change its location on the view.(The text don't lie on each other, but spread around the view, but keeps the condition in location to each other from the origin texts that was placed)
When we have encounter this we have deleted the copys and placed the text right again and then it works for a while...everything repeats itself, and in the end (random timeflow) the text deletes itself completely.
I have a problem with the z axis snap along grid points and lines in the perspective view, now i know that there isn’t a z grid visible but surely there is one non visible (like the z grid in the 2d views)that i can snap too. When i try to snap to points and lines in perspective mode, is the Object or sub-object just slams down to the grid and doesn’t move from there.

I'm trying to get my shadows to line up and hit certain points, and it would be a lot easier if I could adjust it from the perspective of the light, similar to a camera view (hmmm, maybe I'll just set up a camera).
Just want to now if that option is out there and available.
I just started to use mudbox for a class assignment, and I am having trouble getting the views to move. I'm usedto 3DS max where all I had to do was holde down the mouse wheel and drag, but I am not getting the same effect in Mudbox.
