As it is possible to import 3D objects in PS... And display it in outline in an orthographic view, I'm wondering how to print this view at scale 1:1 of the model size...
and not the size of the image file defined in pixels. AS a workaround is it possible to export that view in vector format to edit and print in Illustrator or Acrobat.
I'm getting:
"Displacement is ON and set to view-dependent, but the view being rendered is orthographic. View-dependent displacement does not work with orthographic views."
After using ONE orthographic camera in a scene, however I am no longer using that Camera and still receiving the error. What should I do?
Is it possible to print a view or part of a view to scale for collaboration without first putting the view on a sheet? Thinking about preliminaries, when working with students. Its easy, in autocad, to print anything to scale regardless of whether views are on sheets. Is there a similar capability in Revit? All I can find is zoom scale.

but i ran into some trouble. At step 5, where it says to press Base or use the command VIEWBASE i get a window that will ask me to open up some kind of inventor file. The tutorial does not acknowledge this, but the rest of the instructions and result seem like just what I need!
im trying to make a simple rectangle thats 9" long and 1/2 " high. and when i set it up in autocad it will not print out that size not sure if im doing something wrong in the units settings or in the plot. farly new to the auto cad program

Example. If I was in Ortho - Back view, I move the view a bit so it is not perfectly on the back view than it allowed me to draw object. Another way is to change to Perspective view.

I am completely new to gimp I have an image that is 8in x 6in. It was previously edited in Photoshop on another computer thats how I know the actual size. When I load it into gimp, the image size is in real life the same, I can take a ruler to the screen and it measures 8in x 6in at 100% zoom. However, according to gimps rulers, the image is over 11in x 7in. So I measured what is one inch on gimps ruler and it is actually 3/8in in real life. When I create a grid to overlay the image, through Filters-Render-Patterns-Grid and I make the settings to be 1in x 1in, it too shows up based on gimps ruler measurements. I have the ruler set up in inches but a gimp inch is not a real life inch, and this shows up when I scale the image to 8in x 6in it actually makes the image 5 1/2in x 3 3/4in in real life when printed out. How can I get gimp to display a real life inch and how can I get my images to print out based on real life inches.

When I check "Scale to Fit Media" in my print options what exactly is going on? Does it get resampled? Does the resolution change? And what is the difference between using this option and setting my document size in the "Image Size" dialog box?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to setup Photoshop CS6 print settings so that "Scale To Fit Media" is the default. I tried to create an action and then through Bridge select a folder and Batch send the files to Open-Print-Close. Since images are never received 8.5"x11" it would be convenient to have this as a default. Since the print settings revert, or aren't defaulting to "settings last used", my batch attempt was unsuccessful. I know I could edit my action to adjust image size to page dimensions, but thought a way to edit the Print settings default must be out there somewhere. (Using MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working with Corel Draw X5, Version 15.2.0.626 on a Windows 7 PC which is connected via Novell IPrint to a Conica minolta Bizhub C280 and A HP Offic Jet 850. On both printers I have noticed that a 1:1 print shows differences in scale to the sketch I have made at Corel Draw. As an example I have created a cm scale of 40cm with lines in cm and mm distance. Then I have printed it on both printers and I noticed that at the 28cm position the printed scale is only 27.95cm long. This error occurs on both printers. I have tried to create a CAD drill diagram but because of these large errors I will get holes on the wrong position. This diagram uses distances of 35 cm and here the error is nearly one millimeter.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhenever I run 'updates' for Photoshop CS6 the 'view' > 'print size' option disappears & has been replaced with 100% which is not the same thing! I am a designer & need to view 'actual scale' on screen while working & 100% is much, much bigger than this. I have tried playing with the screen pixel ratio & modes as I am on a retina 13" macbook pro but this doesn't make what I see 'real size' on 100% mode either.
I want to benefit from the other functions that the updates provide without this function being disabled. Each time I try running the updates, the same thing happens & I have to reinstall Photoshop from my original CD (therefore loosing all my saved brushes & patterns which is annoying).
I am currently printing/plotting a ANSI D size drawing to 1:2 scale but whether I plot directly to the printer or publish to PDF I lose the drawing border.
