Mar 28, 2013I am currently printing/plotting a ANSI D size drawing to 1:2 scale but whether I plot directly to the printer or publish to PDF I lose the drawing border.

Revit :: View Title Half Scale
Jan 23, 2012I have a view title where I want to show Full scale and half scale on the same view title. Please see attached .rfa file.
Is there a way to have a label return a half size automatically in an effort to have only one view title. Otherwise our current work around is to make each view title for each scale and create a viewport for each scale in our template. I have heard that the labels are hardcoded and cannot be changed.

We use the common (24x36) sheet size for all projects, but when plotting we send out half size (12x18) as well. This means the scale bar reading 1"=40' is no longer correct. It should read 1"=20'. I would like to automate this.
GIMP :: Trying To Print 4x6 - Printing Half Of The Picture
Oct 13, 2012Brand new GIMP user. I have been able to layer my pictures to create the effect I want. My problem is PRINTING. I can print but it is only printing half of the picture. Trying to print 4x6. If I flip the setup on my printer to landscape it only shows the bottom of the picture and it is not centered, the right size, and is on the top middle of my 4x6 photo paper. If I leave at portrait, it only hows the right side of the picture and, again, is the worng size and on the left side of the photo paper. Obviously I am missing something very basic?

Jun 27, 2012We have recently noticed that after printing a PDF of a drawing I plotted from AutoCAD we are coming up with differences when we double check the scale on the printed hardcopy using a carpenter ruler.
For example, there is a dimension labeled on the drawing of 200 ft. However, if I try to scale this out with a carpenter's ruler at the drawing was set to (say for instance it is 1 inch = 100 ft) I am coming up short of the 2 inches it should be (typically come up around an 1-15/16" or around 194 feet, approx 97% of the correct amount).
In the Page Setup Manager in AutoCAD, I have the following options selected (see the print screen as well):
Printer/plotter selected: DWG to PDF.pc3
Paper Size: ANSI full bleed B (11.00 x 17.00 Inches)
What to Plot: Layout
I don't have a plot scale scale other than the default 1" = 1'
No plot style selected
Then, on the print menu when I open the PDF that I have exported from AutoCAD, I have the following settings (see the print screens I have attached):
Printer: The printer I use (Konica Minolta c650 Series PCL)
And I have selected the Options "Auto Rotate and Center" and "Choose paper source by PDF page size**"
** Note, that I have tried unselecting the "Choose paper source by PDF page size" option and accordingly changed the paper size in the "Page Setup..." button at the btoom to match the document size (i.e. 11.0 x 17.0in) and it gets the difference to be closer (i.e. I now get 198 ft but some of my border gets cut off). I saw that some people in other forums state that there is no real solution when trying to scale off of PDF's and that there should be a disclaimer saying as much if you are to send the file out to a customer who may rely on doing some in the field scaling from the printed copy of the PDF file. I find it hard to believe there is no solution as we have received some drawings from others whom the scaling works just fine.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Annotation Scale Is Not Equal To Plot Scale
Mar 15, 2011I work in autocad 2010 and I draw in scale 1:1 . What an annotation scale is, moreover I have never used annotative objects in my drawings.
Nonetheless, when I try to plot a drawing, while I am in the model view, I choose the scale in mm/units, I select the plot area and when I press preview or plot, I get the message THE ANNOTATION SCALE IS NOT EQUAL TO THE PLOT SCALE. DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?
I press yes, I print it and the outcome is always a bit smaller than it should be.
When i am in the layout mode and I try to plot, I dont get this message. But I dont know how scaling works in this case. For example I want to plot in a A4 paper, scale 1:100. So I type 1000mm/100units, as I did in the model mode, but the result is wrong.

When the modify dimensions box is open, the 'roundoff' menu gives me 1/16", 1/8" etc, even when DECIMAL is selected as the unit format.
This wasn't happening earlier, not sure what's going on. [in fact in a solved problem from earlier, a colleague found a drawing that had units set to millimeters, had its insertion scale set to inches! Different computer, so not related].

Feb 21, 2012I've just installed an HP5000N printer on a Windows 7 Network. I'm printing from CORELDRAW X3. (Same problem exists when using X5) I'm using the HP UNIVERSAL print driver. (I have both PCL & Postscript versions installed.)
I'm trying to use the ADVANCED Settings - which require POSTSCRIPT - with no success from either driver. I can SEE the dialog for changing LINE SCREEN, it allows me to change line screen (i.e. 35 lpi) and Screen angle (i.e. 45 degrees) - but when I PRINT - it give me the default printer screen of 100+ lpi.
I have also run the windows wizard and let WINDOWS search for a driver. It selected the HP5000 PCL 6 driver. This driver does NOT support the TABLOID (11x17) nor does it solve the no postscript functionality.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Size PDFs That Are Not Full Or Half Size
Feb 17, 2011Our supplier sent us some wierd size pdfs that are not full size or half size. I am trying to resize them to full size pdfs (Arch D) but am unable to figure this out in Acrobat.
My work-around is to insert them in AutoCAD and scale them based on known dimensions, then print to pdf. Unfortunately the resulting file is collosal and the quality degraded.

Sep 26, 2012Data Connect Image Printing problem.I have an Aerial image that I bought in via Data Connect. It's been working well for a while. Suddenly the next time I go to Print, either to the plotter, DWF or PDF, for some reason the entire Image is thrown to the northwest corner of the viewport at a miniscule scale! The image is fine on-screen, until you print or even do a print preview!
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, did an audit before I reconnected, deleted all my Cache files, but to no avail! This is not the first time this has happened, but the last time it did, disconnecting, doing an audit, and deleting the Cache files before reconnected appeared to solve the problem. But this time (just when we upgraded to Map 3D 2012), it didn't work.

I am having issues when I save my drawing as an stl file bring it up in the Makerware software it decreases the size and I can't get things to scale. I have been in contact with Makerbot for several months and their response is now: "We actually may have had a bit of a breakthrough! Apparently there's something off about the way that Inventor exports files to .stl, and there may be a bug in our software when scaling. Whenever exporting to .stl, especially in metric apparently, Inventor makes the object 10% of the size. To correct for this, can you try scaling your model by 1000%, then exporting to .stl and bringing it into MakerWare? Send me a copy of the .stl either way, and let me know how it goes!" and "The issue is not something we can fix because it's not an issue in MakerWare.

Feb 18, 2013I am working with Corel Draw X5, Version 15.2.0.626 on a Windows 7 PC which is connected via Novell IPrint to a Conica minolta Bizhub C280 and A HP Offic Jet 850. On both printers I have noticed that a 1:1 print shows differences in scale to the sketch I have made at Corel Draw. As an example I have created a cm scale of 40cm with lines in cm and mm distance. Then I have printed it on both printers and I noticed that at the 28cm position the printed scale is only 27.95cm long. This error occurs on both printers. I have tried to create a CAD drill diagram but because of these large errors I will get holes on the wrong position. This diagram uses distances of 35 cm and here the error is nearly one millimeter.

Aug 3, 2011In AutoCAD 2012 My dimension style/scale seems to change automatically. I'll add one dimension in paper space,and then the very next dimension will be in a different style. It will say 30" one time, then 400" the next. Seems like it picks its own scale randomly. It happens with the default dim styles as well as custom styles.
