I wanted to create a sky background for my model , so i went to visual style tab/ graphic display options/ background and choosed image then customize image and opened my sky image, then apply, then ok , but still the image didn`t appear in the background !
View 2 RepliesI have an intel 3570k cpu and an nvidia gtx 670 gpu, and it only uses my gpu for the 3d clview, but when it renders photos, it only uses my cpu, which makes rendering take so much longer.

I wanna confirm this bug. I'm almost sure it's generalized but who knows. But in most systems I've tried I couldn't get Gradient Ramp to show as viewport background when using Nitrous.
System specs vary greatly from Mac Pros to Dells and ATI and Geforces and one QuadroFX 3700. Most with recent graphic drivers.
(Windows 7, Indesign CS6, Adobe X pro)
I'm typesetting a book where the last sections of each chapter should have a colored background, full width of the page (a percentage of the spot color I use). The spot color at 100% is also used for section headings and the like. That means some pages have a completely colored background, for which I made a master page. The first of these pages should only have a background for the sections concerned (the rest of the page should have no background). So I made an object style with exactly the same color and transparency settings as the frame on the master page.I anchor a so-styled frame to the spot from where the page should have a color (so it will always start at exactly the right spot). Works fine.When I print directly from Indesign, there is no problem. When I export it to pdf, there doesn't seem to be a problem either.
But when I print the pdf pages, black text on the page with the anchored frame doesn't show on the background. On the rest of the page it does. Colored text does show, even on the background. On the other pages (with the colored master page) there is no problem either.
I am fairly new to my current employment. Their default for door thickness in the schedule does not suppress zero feet. Every dimension under the thickness column reads 0'-2" instead of just 2" or whatever the thickness may be. I could just make a new parameter, but I was hoping to edit the current thickness parameter.

I inserted a linked revit model which is the structure and i'm having trouble with two subjects:
- the linked revit model doesn't overlay the walls and other families;
- i would like to change the color of this model in order to have a better visualization, and also isolate it from the main model.
When I click on search, my computer opens the notepad application and the error message says "the filename, directory name, or volume lable syntax is incorrect." I cant go to the videos or the wiki directly from revit either. None of the resources on the right side of the screen are accessible. I do have the educator version of the software. I have tried to reinstall from the application, but have not uninstalled and reinstalled completely.

1.- I started a new drawing, changed the project unit settings (manage>project units> etc...)
2.- I saved the new drawing as a template
3.- I started a new drawing from the previous template I created in step 2, but doesn't keep the units as I set up.
I'm on Civil3d 2010. I have a drawing where i have background masks on most of my text - everything works great. Then I did a "Save As" to give the drawing a new name. After working in it for a day or so, I noticed that all of the text masks don't show. When I hover over mtext (or blocks with mtext), a border shows around the text (only when hovering). But bottom line is the background mask doesn't show at all or print. The original drawing is still fine.
I've checked and this has nothing to do with line merge in the pc3 file etc.
Layer doesn't align vertically with background.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThought this was a Photoshop problem. When I select a portion of an image in Photoshop (which has come from Lightroom) and press Delete, it no longer brings up the Fill dialog; it just deletes the pixels.
After some discussion on the Photoshop forum, I see that now, when I tell Lightroom "Edit in Photoshop", it creates a file which does not have a Background layer, and this causes the Delete key to act differently. This was not the case several weeks ago, but has just started to happen. Is there any adjustment I can make to the "Edit In" settings to get a Background layer in Photoshop?
Using Revit 2012 Architecture (64-bit) and Revit 2013 (full version, 64-bit) both gave the same problem.The problem is as follows.I have gotten a Revit file from my university and I need to make a schedule for two type of windows that consists of Family, Type, Count, Cost, and Total cost. This is not really a big deal, just add the parameters to a schedule, sort by family and type, uncheck "itemize every instance". Then create a calculated value called "total costs" with formula "cost" and type set to currency. Then in formatting go to the just created "total costs", check calculate totals and click ok.
Now there should be a schedule with the family, type, count, costs and total costs. But costs stays black and therefore total costs is 0,00.To my knowledge windows have a certain cost associated with them that comes from a database that has values for all structures in revit. So my guess is that database isn't there or for some reason it doesn't work.The file is 100% reliable, since my university supplied it to me and it works for others using the same version of Revit. Also this problem does not only occur with this file or just windows, the cost fields always stay blank. As mentioned the problem occurs on both Revit 2012 architecture (64-bit) and Revit 2013 (full version 64-bit).
On AutoCAD 2010, my x-ref does not load properly on one file and does on another one, detach it does not work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a Revit Ar 2011 project that is well along in the modeling process and we have noticed that recently elevation symbols do not display on the cursor while placing. Once the elevation tag has been placed it displays normally. Basically, you are operating somewhat blind until the item is placed. Then you can see it in order to modify the orientation and such.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to 'lock' a beam system that I have used for rafters to the underside of my roof.I've successfully got the walls and gables linked in with the roof, and have set up reference planes for cutting of rafters (that should - I think - mean that rafters can move slightly - or change pitch, whilst maintaining same cut extents at rafter ends).
Trouble is - the rafter Beam System does not update with the roof.
My creation approach for the Beam System was to select the underside of the roof as the 'Working Plane' - then edit the boundary to project beyond the walls and form the overhang. I projected it further than I required to provide the excess needed in case I wanted to push the cut plane outwards.
I assumed that selecting the underside of the roof as the working plane would 'lock' the two together, but it doesn't appear to work.Have I missed a straightforward step to link the two elements together ?
I have two sloped roofs that are joined as shown in the first image ( the site plan). The overhang of the roof on the left doesn't get trimmed when the two roofs are joined as shown in the second image ( the section).
View 8 Replies View RelatedHave just installed Revit 2014. Material editor will not open with icon (Manage>materials) or Type Props>Edit Assembly>Material. Additionanl Setings>Material Assests is greyed out. I have gone back to a project where I know the Asset Library is loaded as well as trying in one of the new sample files. Additionaly means I cant add or change any layers in Edit Assembly.

How do i break up the viewport on the sheet so I can squeeze the visable regions together?
by default. I forget what but there's some routine to make this family cut properly in a plan view. Why they made viewing the top of the family the default position I DON"T KNOW but what do you expect from programmers?

While using Plan Region, Some of the walls dont show as cut, though their height is more & above the Cut Plane Level.

I currently have a situation in white my stair handrail mid post wont connect to my stair stringer. I have a C10 stair stringer and am using a modified typer square handrail system I have made. I am sure there is a setting or preference I have missed that is causing this. I have attached an image for reference.
ALSO in the image you can see the top rail does not fully attach to the end post. It sits in the middle somehow. AND that end post sits halfway off the stringer.
When I try to open the material browser in Revit 2014, the screen opens. But suddenly Revit in totally doesn't work and it says 'Does not respond'When i try to close the material browser the whole program closes and my work is lost unsaved.

I set up a filter rule of Mass Roof and applied it to V/G Filters of a view, but it did not displayed in Analyze Mass Model, the same as Mass Exterior Wall, Mass Glazing.
