Revit :: 2014 System Doesn't Work

When I click on search, my computer opens the notepad application and the error message says "the filename, directory name, or volume lable syntax is incorrect." I cant go to the videos or the wiki directly from revit either. None of the resources on the right side of the screen are accessible. I do have the educator version of the software.  I have tried to reinstall from the application, but have not uninstalled and reinstalled completely.Â

When I try to open the material browser in Revit 2014, the screen opens. But suddenly Revit in totally doesn't work and it says 'Does not respond'When i try to close the material browser the whole program closes and my work is lost unsaved.

i'm using 3ds max 2014, i'd recently installed it, and i've problems with the "conform" tool in the graphite modelling tools. i select the mesh i want to draw on, but the tool doesn't fit my mesh how i want, it just move it around the viewport with no sense. Iwas working in 3ds 2012, and it never happend

When using the block editor to rename an existing block to clean that instance of the block name out of the file, the block replace command from express tools does not work.
I select a block enter block editor save block as (new Name) save and exit block editor.Insert new block into the drawing.Express tab on the ribbon select Replace Block select block A to be replaced by Block B purge out instance of block A after complete. It reports 0 blocks replaced
attached is a file with 2 blocks called Drain and Drain X each have the same visibility states I want to replace Drain with Drain X to purge out Drain from my file.

I try to 'lock' a beam system that I have used for rafters to the underside of my roof.I've successfully got the walls and gables linked in with the roof, and have set up reference planes for cutting of rafters (that should - I think - mean that rafters can move slightly - or change pitch, whilst maintaining same cut extents at rafter ends).

Trouble is - the rafter Beam System does not update with the roof.

My creation approach for the Beam System was to select the underside of the roof as the 'Working Plane' - then edit the boundary to project beyond the walls and form the overhang. I projected it further than I required to provide the excess needed in case I wanted to push the cut plane outwards.

I assumed that selecting the underside of the roof as the working plane would 'lock' the two together, but it doesn't appear to work.Have I missed a straightforward step to link the two elements together ?

Have just installed Revit 2014. Material editor will not open with icon (Manage>materials) or Type Props>Edit Assembly>Material. Additionanl Setings>Material Assests is greyed out. I have gone back to a project where I know the Asset Library is loaded as well as trying in one of the new sample files. Additionaly means I cant add or change any layers in Edit Assembly.

I have a drawing model where I cannot create a filled region in one sheet, but on other sheets in the same model I can. the filled region appears but does not mask anything - it is transparent. Transparency is set correctly (to zero) and I have tried bringing it to the front.

Using Revit 2012 Architecture (64-bit) and Revit 2013Â (full version, 64-bit) both gave the same problem.The problem is as follows.I have gotten a Revit file from my university and I need to make a schedule for two type of windows that consists of Family, Type, Count, Cost, and Total cost. This is not really a big deal, just add the parameters to a schedule, sort by family and type, uncheck "itemize every instance". Then create a calculated value called "total costs" with formula "cost" and type set to currency. Then in formatting go to the just created "total costs", check calculate totals and click ok.

Now there should be a schedule with the family, type, count, costs and total costs. But costs stays black and therefore total costs is 0,00.To my knowledge windows have a certain cost associated with them that comes from a database that has values for all structures in revit. So my guess is that database isn't there or for some reason it doesn't work.The file is 100% reliable, since my university supplied it to me and it works for others using the same version of Revit. Also this problem does not only occur with this file or just windows, the cost fields always stay blank. As mentioned the problem occurs on both Revit 2012 architecture (64-bit) and Revit 2013 (full version 64-bit).

 In "Categories" of the filters window, it can be selected things which composes its mass, such as Mass Exterior Wall, Mass Glazing, Mass Roof. And these things can be clicked only after its mass become energy model.

I set up a filter rule of Mass Roof and applied it to V/G Filters of a view, but it did not displayed in Analyze Mass Model, the same as Mass Exterior Wall, Mass Glazing.

If you create any custom coordinate systems in 2014 products (Civil3D, Map3D) *.CSD files are created in C:Users{user_name}AppDataLocalAutodeskUser Geospatial Coordinate Systems with the additional data in them.
My question is - can you have multiple 'coordsys.csd' files?
The reason for asking is that we are setting up a large number of low distortion projections that are specified by a government roading agency and I figure the best way to distribute these is to create a coordsys.csd with them and sync it out to everyones profile (the location shown above), but there could then be issues if a user then sets up some additional coordinate systems that will only be on their computer, if we altered or expanded the company definitions and sync'd these out again it would overwrite the users ones.
It would be good to be able to have mutilple custom coordinate system files - ones for particular clients, countries, individual users etc.

 Every important 3d software from Maya , Lightwave  Houdini, Modo... you name it. The lucky users  don't have to pay 400 bucks to have a non-native plugin !  Max is as expensive and older than Maya or any other 3d App.

I put  a new material in the material editor. However long later, I save the max file and when I come back to it, the material editor does not have the material I previously created in there.
The get it back I have to 'eyedrop' the mesh to retrieve it.I've not seen this before in any version, and I use the compact material editor.

PSE 10 becomes unstable shortly after start up, per Win 7 system does not respond and win 7 shuts it down. I have removed and reloaded problem occurs more rapidly.

When I try to run Inventor.exe it shows loading window and then it disappear and there's no response. I've tried to run it from Start->(..)->Inventor and any possible location but nothing worked. I've also tried solution with deleting C:ProgramDataAutodeskADLMCascadeInfo.cas file but this doesn't worked either. Autodesk DWG True View, ReCap and others work correctly. I use student version of Inventor 2014. It has been working previously 6 or 7 times. Same issue was with Inventor 2013 after 3 months no using.

Have just installed Video Studio ProX3 on a new computer running Windows 7. Software much the same as VS 10 which I ran on a computer with XP.
The new system does not want to connect with my Canon MV930 Video camera. - if it does the picture is frozen and the message - 'Inconsistent vidoe from capture source' appears. Or I get the message - 'No video input source' detacted' appearing.
Could the problem be with the Firewire card/drivers taken from the old computer? - am having this checked out to-day.The software downloads vidoes from a DVD produced by me on the old system quite happily.

I believe a dwg I am trying to access is affected by the acad.vlx virus as an alert comes up to check autodesk for solution (ID: TS13717811) however the published solution doesn't seem to work for the latest version of AutoCAD LT 2012Â as it asks me to access a file in the support folder which doesn't exist on my system.

I am upgrading the AutoCAD 2009 X 32 systems to the 2013 X64, and I have this vab code that won't work on the new system. I try to move the search path that contain the file up to the top and also got all the missing libraries, but the code still won't work.When I run the code it will give me error message like: compile error:
Function or interface marked as restricted, or the function uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic. The code work perfectly without any error on the old system so I sure the code is causing this error.

I can start LR : but it gives immedidately the screen : unexpected error opening catalog, when I choose 'choose a different catalog' : he aks me to select a recent catalog to open, but this doesn't work en I neither can check the integrity of the catalog. Is there any possibility to do a repair of the program without losing my material from before ?  When I search .ircat I can' t find any files. Â

When selecting a material from the dropdown list the material isn’t downloaded correctly.
I had just edited the appearance for that material, pointed it to a new bitmap, then added the appearance & material to the library. Then purged it all from the document.
Restarting Inventor results in the material being downloaded from the library correctly.

it is a lot of time that I noted that if I convert a RAW file from my Canon camera in TIFF and then I post elaborate it with GIMP, I obtain a file without EXIF. No problem whan I convert the RAW file in jpeg.

I've just purchased a NAS hard drive system to basically transfer and store my 'finished' work from Lightroom and Photoshop. In reading the manual for Lightroom, am I correct in thinking that the NAS server cannot be a 'catalog' ?? I basically just want to correctly transfer across my finished files for storage there rather than on my main computer hard drive - and hence free up space on main computer. I'm just not sure of the process in how to go about this correctly? I still want to be able to access these finished files in case I need to revist something - but happy for them to be off the main computer?

I used to paste parts all the time while the constraints tool was open which made for a good work flow when I had to insert a lot of the same part. I just updated to SP1 and whenever I paste a part the constraint tool closes now.

I am creating a beam system. I click the "beam system" button on the structure panel. However, it then goes into sketch mode without stopping to allow me to select "automatic beam system" and/or "Tag on Placement." Fortunately, I can see that "automatic beam system" is already selected in the split second that flashes before going to sketch mode.Â
However, I do not have the opportunity to select the "Tag on Placement." I am really new to Revit and thus I am wondering if there is a different way to possibly turn on the tagging since the way I know is not an option.Â

I created a library of Dynamic cabinets in AutoCAD LT 2013. I have tested them and used them in drawings. I just upgraded to 2104 and when I insert those same dynamic blocks into a drawing, the parameters do not show and i can not use the dynamic block as intended. when I click on it...tons ot grips show up and no parameters.

If I create a polysphere and make a part of the sphere invisible via isolate select, the hidden faces are still selected if I try to select faces. They are activated as if they were visible. And the invisible faces are selected if I to a click for face selection.
