3ds Max Animation :: Restrict Movement Of Keyframes On Horizontal (time) Or Vertical (value) Axis
Jul 16, 2011In the track view window, the Move Keys Horizontal and Vertical Buttons should restrict the movement of keyframes on the horizontal (time) or vertical (value) axis, but do not in my version of 3ds Max 2012 SP1. Work around include using the dope sheet or using the Keys > Slide or Keys > Scale Value menu items.

Dec 1, 2006I try to select and move a layer using the Move Tool, another layer is immediately selected and moved instead.
Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.
I'm using Mac OS 10.4.8 with PS 9.0.1

Illustrator :: How To Move Object To A Value On Y Axis
Dec 4, 2012I'm doing a simple transform action. I want to move an object to a value on the Y axis. First of all, after recording the action, and setting the Y value to 64 px, the action is recorded as 64 pt, not px. This happens regardless of my 'Units' setting. Second, it ADDS the value to the current Y value, instead of just setting the new value, rendering the action useless.
Am I doing something wrong? I don't see a way to specify an absolute value vs a relative one. Is it just a limitation of Actions in Illustrator?

May 9, 20121) How do I get the ucs Icon (X,Y axis) to not move when I zoom in and out. I want it to be stationary in the bottom left corner as I'm used to seeing it.
2) For some reason I cannot peform the simple task of drawing a line by picking a point and then entering a distance. Ever since I've been drafting with cad I have been able to type "line" in the command line and then am asked to "specify first point" (I do so), and am asked to "specify second point" (which I do). Normally I do this in ortho mode (0, 90, 180 etc.) For example, using 25', I lead the cursor to the right as my "second point", and the line normally shows up 25' to the right. This is not happening now for some reason. After I specify my second point as 25', the command linen states, "point or option keyword required" and does not draw the line. I'm sure the solution is an easy one but I've never seen this happen before.

Aug 16, 2011I have read that this feature was removed(??) in 2011. How to do it in 2012?
Use Axis Constraints is ON in the Grid and Snap Settings but when i hoover over the vertex the snap goes away and a small circle shows up. When i click the vertex and drag it the axis constraints are turned off. I use the vertex snap all the time.

Jul 23, 2013I am having some trouble with moving vertexes on their local axis. When I move a vertex with the move tool (in local mode) the vertex moves REALLY fast and what is causing it. It works fine with the view coordinates enabled but just not on local.

Photoshop :: Move Tool Does Not Move Layer When Dragging With Wacom Tablet
Jan 14, 2013I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.

Dec 20, 2013My rotate tool in maya seems to be "locked" i can't freely rotate whenever i left click hold the center and it only rotates where my viewport is looking at so if im at the X axis I can't rotate the Z axis. Tried setting my preferences to default and nothing. I've also set my rotate tool to default.
Whenever I move my camera say to the Z axis the Z handle gets selected and same when I move the camera to the X axis.

Jul 8, 2011I have several pillars that I want to scale down to the same size, but I don't want to have to scale them individually or reposition them once I'm done. Is there any way to scale them all without making them move along the axis being scaled? (I should have made them instances of each other. My only problem there is that I couldn't reposition one pillar without moving the others. for future reference, is there a way to temporarily break the instance relationship so on can be edited?)

Dec 3, 2013Any way to move objects in vertical direction (z-axis) in 3d views, without having to turn the view everytime to be of frontal direction. I would like to move entire objects - for example mass objects - up or down directly in a 3d view of random orientation, now only top- or bottom face can be moved vertically, the whole object moves only on xy -plane. Can vertical movement of an object be done intuitively graphically and/or can it be be numerically, feeding coordinates?
Have tried all sources, but cannot find solution, and refuse to believe that Revit would be the only 3d/bim software on planet where direct vertical manipulation of objects is not possible.

Jul 31, 2012I found a program which rotates selected block(s) about thier insertion point. I modified it to rotate each of the block(s) about the y-axis. Works great. Now, I would like to change it so that it rotates a copy of each block about the y-axis and leaves the origial block in place. Its kind of like the mirror command exept it is rotating the new block(s) to the other side instead of flipping them. I want to keep all or the parameters of the block(s) the same as each original. I am using AutoCAD 2010. MOCORO is not recognized as a command. The new features workshop says to use the new command AMCOPYRM, which is not recognized either. Go figure.

If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. If I press and hold both the Ctrl+Alt keys a see a cursor icon change to an icon that has two up pointing Arrow heads one Black the other White. What tool is that cursor for? It seems to copy and move the current layer and move its position over the canvas.

Apr 9, 2009I started learning Photoshop CS4 about a month ago. One of the first things I learned was to add text. Simple, fun. I am now trying to learn about layer masks. One of the exercises in one of my books is to open an image and then add text to it. (The idea is to then add a mask and 'hide' portions of the text behind portions of the image.) A really strange thing is happening when I try to add text. I highlight the image in the layers column. (Prior to adding any mask layers.) I then click the text tool. But when I click on the image (in the area where I want the text), the text tool 'becomes' a move tool. A text layer pops up and the words I'm trying to type on the image come out in the title area for the layer (in the layers column). I've tried everything I can think of to 'get' the text on the image but can't solve it.

Oct 29, 2013Is there a way to restrict tool movement along a single (horizontal or vertical) axis? I'm not talking about moving objects - as I checked and there's a thread for that - but moving those little squares in the corners of a transform tool selection.Example: I want to change the perspective of a picture. I apply the perspective tool and the picture is overlaid with a grid and four corners. I want to be able to pick a corner - say the bottom right one - and move it *only* right or left, without any vertical shift.
I tried with guidelines but I cannot make them stick to the exact side of the image neither if I tell GIMP they're magnetic.But what's worst is that even if I manually put guides along the edge, it seems that the corners of the perspective tool ignore completely the magnetic attribute.
In Photoshop I could simply pick one corner, hold the shift key and restrict movement to the two main axes.

Mar 25, 2013i try to make an animation. I create a cylinder and i want to rotate it by longitudinal axis. i click 'components', select the cylinder and after i click 'position' to select the axis that axis system appears in the right side of the cylinder not in the middle. If i continue whit this settings the cylinder will rotate by a circle not by his longitudinal axis. How can i move that axis sistem in the middle of the cylinder? I can drag it but can't place it exactly in the middle.

Nov 25, 2013I try to use photoshop CC and it crashed EVERY single time I click the move tool, no matter what document I have open. I haven't been able to do much else with it to see if it crashes in other places or not. It crashes on both the 64 bit and 32 bit version.
I have windows 7, 64 bit. I have an AMDHD 7700 graphics card and I also use the integrated Intel 2500 graphics for more monitors.
I have 16gb of ram. I have just updated both of my video card drivers to try and correct the problem, but it has not fixed the problem.
I also get the "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" when I go into the performance tab in preferences.
