Photoshop :: How To Set File To Print 16 X 20 For Costco
May 29, 2013
I created a file in Ps CS5 from three cropped photos taken with my Nikon D700 and processed in NX2. I brought them in from Br in layers an created a new untitled canvas of 16 x 20 and moved them in position and then tried a lot of empty space. The 6 meg JPEG looks pretty good.
Â
I printed it out on my printer and it centers on an 8.5 x 11 just fine but the problem is when I upload it to Costco and look at a 12 x 16 it crops 1/3 of the picture out and the same for a 16 x 20 and even a 20 x 30 for crying out loud. Is it an interpolation problem even though it was a large file?
New user and have checked all trainng info....  How do I send edited photos from Elements 12 to Costco for printing? Only Shutterfly is offered as option. Or how can I export to "my pictures" or thumb drive? Â
I am trying to utilize my nearest costco to print some images from lightroom 5. I am getting back dull washed out prints. Â Facts: Â I shoot in RAW in manual mode
I am using sRGB when I do my post processing
I export to jpg for printing
I used the costco LR5 plugin from Alloyphoto to upload to Costco
I have installed the printer profiles from drycreek for the specific location/printer and have chosen the correct profile as I export
I made sure that I chose to have Costco NOT autocorrect the color
Even when I use LR5's soft proofing, I get the same result on my monitor
I checked the print I got back and it says that they did NOT autocorrect (taken with a grain of salt)
The machine they are using is a Noritsu QSS-A, so I know my profile is correct
I have attached a screen shot of what I am seeing. Â Why am I seeing this on my soft proofing as well as my prints?
I'm having trouble printing in Photoshop CS2. Rregardless of which printer I try to print to, I get the message "Could not print because of a problem writing the print file". I have never encountered this error before.
The psd file I am printing is a wall banner, and is quite large (~200MB). It contains elements copied/pasted as pixels from Illustrator CS2. However even if I flatten the file, or save as a flattened tif, I still get the same error message.
Thinking that the psd file is corrupted, I tried printing an earlier version of the file, with no luck. I've even tried printing other, small unrelated files, and can't print those either. Even after rebooting the computer.
The computer I'm using has a dual core processor, 4GB RAM, a decent graphics card and is running under XP. I have gob-loads of HD space and also use a scratch disk.
I really only want to print the file myself as a proof. However, I'm concerned that the banner printers won't be able to print the file either.
We just started in 2014 last week. When we batch plot to PDF using the DWG to PDF driver we get multi-page files no matter which is selected in the Publish Options. Any way to allow single sheet PDF creation?
I have a Samsung Laser printer. THe passive USB hub went bad yesterday, and I re-installed teh printer drivers. Everything prints fine from my on-line E-mail, Microsoft Word, etc. However, when I attempt to print from Adobe Illustrator I get a "Print to file" WINDOW that comes up, I never got this before I don't want to print to file (!!!!). I want to print to the printer.
I get a pop up of "Save Files To Folder", but no file names are present, so "save" does nothing. I have all the boxes checked in Print Job, e.g. print to Jpeg file. I have searched, re-read Kelby etc. and come up blank. I have a profile entered for a custom lab.
I am trying to find a way to save my image file as a jpeg and add -web or -print to the existing file name. This way I can easily see which files are lower resolution for web posting or high resolution for printing.
I created a 5x7 publisher file with some text and a motif I designed in Photoshop and inserted into my publisher document. Now I am ready to create the final piece in Photoshop. Help! I have the graphic saved in various file formats, and want to import it into my 5x7 Photoshop document I've saved. I clicked on Transparent because I want the off white of the paper to show through. The graphic has a transparent background in psd format. I saved it as a pdf file and tried to import it, but that just opened another window. I just want to be able to place the image on my 5 x 7 page, then type in the type!

I will be sending it to my printer who has requested it in CMYK format. Do I design it in RGB and convert?
My printer will be printing it at 600 dpi. When I open a new file, it only gives me the pixels/inch.
we have been saving super high resolution images in Photoshop by doing a "print to pdf" as we call it. You print the document, but rather than selecting an ordinary printer, you select Adobe PDF. Within the page layout of that printer, you can specify the resolution and document size to print/save, etc. I love it because you don't loose any of the integrity of the image, but the file size always ends up being in the kilabytes, rather than megs. At home, I don't seem to have that printer as an available option. I don't do the installations at my office, so I'm not sure if there is a driver that I need to install, or does that driver only come with Creative Suite?Â
I take a lot of passport sized ID images (45mm high x 35mm wide). When I get them back from the lab I have to identify each image.
If I could have the image filename on the bottom of each image the identifying process can be made a lot less time consuming and of course negate the posibility of misidentifying the image.
I have 1 large photo (33cm x 200cm) i like to print on A3+ paper. Not cropped or reseized, but on about 4 papers i can glue toether after printing and so get 1 large file. Â So in all i'm looking for a way to print from PS cs5 so that , part by part, the image is split on the 4 sheets i like to use. Â I can of course manually 'cut' the photo into 4 pieces myself, but i really hoped PS CS5 could do this job automaic for me. Â Is their a way i simply did not find yet?
Using Photoshop CS5 and Windows 7. How do I get a photo file (jpg) to print at specific dimensions? For instance, I have a file open in Photoshop and it's dimensions are: width-3872 pixels and height-2592 pixels. I want to print and have the print size be 10 inches by 8 inches without distorting the image.
Question: I have a file in Tiff format (large file 145 MB) that I'm not able to print out of CS6. I've tried to save as JPEG, but have been unsuccessful because it is not an 8bit file.Â
This is worse than trying to deal with the government bureaucrats....I am simply asking how I can print out a complete pdf file of the user guide for PSE 10...I had one for version 9 but cannot get anything for version 10? The address shown in the getting started manual doe snot go through?
I am trying to print a photo on my Canon MX870 that has been edited (cropped and a few slight lighting changes) in Elements 9 , the colours look good on the screen but when I print it looks different, . I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.  I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.  I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?
I did a Photo shoot for some dancers who need some images for print. How do i save these images so that they are A, print ready pdf's. and B, Email able. Â The goal is to get these images onto the page of a paper/magazine. Not full size but i guess they will be a put in a box.
I created a photobook in photoshop elements 9 and selected "print locally". Now I want to send it to a commercial printer and can't figure out how to do so.  I have checked with both Shutterfly and Costco, and they want each page sent as a separate picture.... How do I do that?
I am trying to print a jpg to file in LR4. All the settings in the print module seem to be correct an I have done this before. I am print (to file) a 20X16 print at at 240 ppi sharpening = standard paper = glossy jpg quality = 100% . Printing to a Costco profile and intent = perceptual.
When I click print (to desktop) process bar comes up and very quickly progresses. The "print" appears on the desktop as an icon and not a thumbnail. It will not open. When I look at the file info: it is 15,763,189 bytes and has a dimension of 0 x 0 (?).I have tried this with several different files and get the same result.
This is new in X6. The "print file info" option when selected has now 4 lines of information on the lead edge. The line 4 is very close to the page edge. So what ? In commercial use this can to problems, where in previous versions the "Print file info" was in three lines at the top and one line at the bottom and a good distance from the page edge. This info is out-with the page size when using crop marks.
The question is: can this 4 lines of page info be edited down back to 3 lines or be moved further away from the page edge?
