View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Illustrator CS5 logo with a tagline beneath that is converted to outlines, all in white, zero values for all four channels. There aren't any FX, graphic styles or anything applied to them, nor are there any bitmaps. They're just compound and simple paths filled with white. The logo previews in the print dialog box and prints, but the tagline below doesn't appear in either case.
Â
I tried several things, like the deconstruction of the letters to simple paths, which showed everything as simple paths but nothing came of that. I also tried coloring everything with "White2" swatch, resaving the .EPS as .AI and .PDF, changing the size of the artboard, reverting to legacy, copy/paste to a new file, etc. Finally...I tried converting the CMYK file and graphics to RGB and it all previewed/printed.

I am on a MacBook Air with Lion 10.7.3. There's no print driver yet for our Canon; so I'm using a generic PostScript driver for the time being (betting this is the culprit). There are a tremendous number of print options that I don't have time to test.
If you have different shades of red on a single layer but you want them all be the same shade and have the same CMYK setting. Does Photoshop CS4 have a tool to make the adjustment accurately by keying in the CMYK without filling with the paint tool?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a 5x7 publisher file with some text and a motif I designed in Photoshop and inserted into my publisher document. Now I am ready to create the final piece in Photoshop. Help! I have the graphic saved in various file formats, and want to import it into my 5x7 Photoshop document I've saved. I clicked on Transparent because I want the off white of the paper to show through. The graphic has a transparent background in psd format. I saved it as a pdf file and tried to import it, but that just opened another window. I just want to be able to place the image on my 5 x 7 page, then type in the type!

I will be sending it to my printer who has requested it in CMYK format. Do I design it in RGB and convert?
My printer will be printing it at 600 dpi. When I open a new file, it only gives me the pixels/inch.
My end result is to make corrections on a digital image and save to print.
Open image from digital camera
Duplicate
Crop, make any corrections
Image Size – change to the size I want and resolution to 300
Save and print
I have just bought and installed Lightroom 5 and need to set my print size to A3 and in the future even bigger. I do not have the facility at home and need to have them sized correctly for the print shop so they do not have to waste time resizing them. I am at a loss how to do this. I cant find any settings for this size print. A3 is roughly 42 x 29.7 cm.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working in PhotoShop CS in CMYK. I am satisfied with my colors in PhotoShop, but when I import the graphics into InDesign, the colors dull considerably. I take this to mean they will print similarly.
I have had issues with getting my CMYK files to print like they look on screen. Does anyone have any tips on how I could get what I see on the screen to match more closely what will come out of the printer?
Whenever I create a PDF file the capital Ms and Ws get "spikey", if that makes sense. I use the simplex font primarily. I have C3D 2012, but this issue has been present back to LD 2009, and maybe farther. Only happens when I make PDFs, not other formats.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm making an ad with alot of bright colors. It's gonna be printed to a glossy photo paper for distribution, but I'm having a hard time getting the monitor colors to match the printout colors.
I started as RGB workspace, then once finished I converted to CMYK, but the colors drastically get dull.
I know that it is normal for colors to change during RGB to CMYK transition, but is there any way I can preserve those bright colors?.. (it's mostly bright orange and green.)
Workspace specs :
RGB : ADOBE RGB 1998
CMYK : SWOP V2 20%
Conversion : ACE
Intent : Relative colormetric.
I can't open a new Illustrator file. It sends me this error: Can't create a new illustration. Problems occurred while saving the print file.I opened a previous document created in CC, but it will not allow me to copy and paste items from one doc to another. I have rebooted with no avail.

View 12 Replies View RelatedHere's a quick tip where you can set the magnification of "View > Print Size" to reflect the actual physical size of your document.
Â
1. Measure the horizontal viewable size of your monitor or laptop screen. For example: 13.75 inches.Â
2. Note your horizontal resolution. 1366 pixels for instance.Â
3. Divide pixels into inches to get your screen resolution per inch. 1366/13.75 = 99.3 pixels/in Â
4  In Photoshop's Preferences > Units & Rulers, enter this value under New Document Preset Resolutions shown in the screenshot. Save and close.
Â
After that, when you select Print Size, the document and even the onscreen rulers will reflect actual size. Now with Open GL graphics cards being fairly common, the odd magnification needed for those results won't appear jagged.
I am trying to print a photo on my Canon MX870 that has been edited (cropped and a few slight lighting changes) in Elements 9 , the colours look good on the screen but when I print it looks different, . I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.
Â
I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.
Â
I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?
I want to create a image file with six passport photos on a 4x6 photo print page. To do that I was asked to do the following:
take a photo yourself, crop it down to a 2x2 square, then copy and paste this into a 2 by 3 tile pattern (4x6 in. canvas size). You now have them print out a 4x6 photo
I don't know how to "tile pattern"
How can I do this in Paint.net

The issue I'm having involves setting the number of copies to print in Photoshop's print dialog. Most applications I've worked with will set the dm Copies of the DEVMODE to this value and send a single page to be printed. Photoshop, however, is setting dm Copies to "1" (even if the default DEVMODE provide by my driver has dmCopies set to another value) and sending several identical pages to the driver. Obviously this can slow down printing dramatically when the copy count is in the hundreds.
Â
I've observed the same behavior from Photoshop when printing with 3rd party drivers, so it doesn't seem isolated to the drivers I maintain.
My question is, does Photoshop always send multiple copies of an image as individual pages, or is it trying to set the copy count through an interface I don't support? If it is using a different interface to set the copy count what interface is it using?
storing and backing up large numbers of images? I need to accesses them on a regular basis and at reasonable speeds. This would be primarily Macs on a network. I need 3 terabytes of storage and an additional 3 of RAID or similar backup. For budgetary reasons the MAC X Serve is not an option.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to create a street art style stencil graphic to put on a t-shirt using Illustrator (note, not an actual stencil for spray painting, just the visual effect of one). I was able to make something similar in photoshop, but pixelation issues lead me to attempt a vector style graphic. The overlying "stencil" image is a complex vector object and the underlying "paint" layer is a series of semi-transparent paint splatter vector groups to get a more textured effect. I am doing it this way because, I have not been able to find any graffiti style brushes that work the same way as those in photoshop. The problem I am having is that when I attempt to make a clipping mask of these objects to be left with just the desired "paint" areas, there is a message about the complexity of this operation, and the result is total disappearance of all the objects, except for their paths. better way to get a vector graffiti stencil effect with texture?
